Brilliant system to have handy in varies & obvious situations. Though I am quite surprised that this gentleman hadn't mentioned anything at all about how this would cope with sea water distillation/desalination.

i think your float guide goes in the top faceing the other way to actually allow enough volume to cool it and functionally allow the floats travel

Yes I understand it's made in the US and the steel is from Canada or the US but what I need to know is the steel American steel imported or American steel iron ore?
This is VERY important because imports are laced with mixed metals and not only is the quality cheap but the metals can and do carry minute traces of toxic metals such as lead, mercury, cobalt, chromium, beryllium, cadmium etc.
Now if it's made from 100 percent American iron ore then you have the highest quality pure iron ore steel the world has to offer and you won't have to worry about leaching toxic metals.
This important to me.
You may have to do some digging with your manufacturer like see the transport bill of lading.
But on the bright side, if it is, and I hope it is, you can post this info for your viewers concern.

He confirms US steel source below. Kudos for thinking out of the box WD making it off grid. However, I have a Q - is my understanding that true distillers must include a carbon filter to catch remaining VOC's, so this looks more like a filter system vs. a distilling.

@@litestreamer In an enclosed water distiller system it should have a post filter . In an open system like shown', no need to hava a post filter
litestreamer you can purchase those filter separately and run the water though them, if you’d like.
Can you please do a very quick brief video on how use the heat chamber what goes in it how ? So the top pot gets water what goes in the bottom? And is there an alternative to the plastic hose?
Yes you can Distill Sea Water for drinking , some sea water globally have extremly high selinity. It could possibly require
a second distillation cycle.

Nice set up, you can get a hell of a lot of distilled water for the money. If you paid a dollar a day for a gallon of store bought Distilled water for your Family this Distiller would pay for its self in just one year.

Too bad the bottom pot is so big. It looks like it is twice the diameter of a large stove top burner. Also it would have been nice to see it actually distilling water. How many gallons per hour does it produce?
It is a standard stock pot. Nothing out of the ordinary. It can produces 8-12 cups per hour based on the heat source and your conditions.
You can use very small pots as well as large ones, Please review videos again

I'm confused on how does the dirty water get to the steam tank without contaminating the condenser water?

The condenser is seperated fom the pot. , so the distilled.the water is pure .

.2 microns ...please this is not a water Distiller. .. it is a water filter ... gravity filter! thats it!
It's actually both 2 in one. Watch both videos - it can be configured as a gravity filter like you mentioned, but it can also be configured as a water distiller (not using the filter). That is why it is called multi-purpose.
But it has no "filter" in the system? He did mention steam, therefore, it must be a distiller of some sort.
If you watch all three videos you can see that it can be configured with a filter (included) for gravity filtration or it can be configured as a distiller (without the filter) for distillation. It is 2 systems in one.
