Tbh if anyone was to get a retired Battle Bot, I'm glad its William. It kinda feels like when a race horse retires and just gets to go have a chill farm life, but more like the bot's full potential for reasonable chaos can now be reached.

I can't understand why people would be upset with Will buying this battlebot. First off, the owner sold it, meaning it probably was being "retired" anyway. And for people saying it should have been sold to someone who wanted to get into robot fighting, this size of robot is REALLY rare in competition. Most bots, if I recall, fall between 10 and 50 lbs; you'd never find a buyer. Additionally, Will has been on the set of Battlebots multiple times, which tells me he has to have some connection with the competition. Not to mention he was able to fix it. This isn't just some random TH-camr buying the bot for a one-off video, he'll clearly maintain and use it regularly.
If it competed in battlebots it's about 250 pounds.
Also he’s not allowed to enter it in any competitions so why not use it for destruction

A TH-camr buys a old WW2 tank and uses it at a shooting range ad drives it around, nobody really gets mad and says it should be in a museum because there is already some tanks like that there, there are probably some battlebots in museums or some sort of collection.

To be fair, this version of Red Devil is maybe one of the only Battlebots that I think would be somewhat safe to use outside of a strictly controlled environment.
I mean, just being within 20 feet of Tombstone or any of the inertia-based bots when they are turned on, without several layers of bullet proof glass and a steel cage, would be horrifying. They are outright death machines.
Who the heck says that? I mean if it were a spinner or some other things yes, because that will launch shrapnel and its only a matter of time before it causes gouges or narrowly misses someone. Generally you should also be in a protected area regardless but thankfully red devil is tame in destructive power.
Also disrespectful, builders often do it if they have the opportunity and a safe spot so like... Why?

I remember I first found battlebots through a hard hit compilation and I remember seeing nightmare ABSOLUTELY DESTROY one of warrior clans mini bots and it was the coolest shit ever

The false ceiling gives me flashbacks to when my dad and I were helping reinstall the ceiling tiles in my grandparent’s house. You learn very quickly why all the stuff had to be taken out of the living space first.

I once watched a kid who won a contest, play with a battle bot ( don’t remember which one), and he managed to break it somehow. AND you wouldn’t guess what happened next. They fixed it right in front of the kid, took them a total of 10 minutes to make sure. Then gave the controller back to the kid. Almost like they are built to be fixed real quick and easy.

It really is, the twisting that happens when it hits the ground unevenly is what breaks it
@@neonoir__ actually it's from the glass sliding down a bit and causing the edge of the glass to hit the cabinet when rotating. you can see the glass never gets near the floor or closing, but instead shatters once the glass nearest the hinges locks onto the wood from rotating and breaks.
