  • Nothing ruins a weekend of on the water fun like a breakdown. Stay ahead of the trouble by making a routine out of inspecting all your boats systems.
Salt water is brutal on your engines - clean it off.
1, Flush the salt out of the engines
    2. Inspect all the engine hoses and fittings
    3. Protect your engine with an anti corrosion spray (I use Corrosion X)
    4. Inspect your anchor lines
    5. Test all your switches
    6. Inspect your wiring
    7. Check your engine oil
    8. Check thru hull fittings
    9. UV Protect your boat ( I use 303)
    10. Clean and protect all metal surfaces

Great video! I have several similar videos on my channel as it pertains to troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of Honda motors. Something to consider is a periodic Rydlyme flush which will help with clean out and preserve your cooling system. Also using Dielectric grease on all your electrical component connections throughout the boat will help prevent corrosion and outages on the water.

@davecavanugh66 - thanks for the tips - I will definitely coat the electrical components with dielectric grease. I do flush the engines at least once a week with Salt Away. Thanks for watching.
