Timișoara / Temesvár / Temeswar is the capital city of Timiș County and the main economic, social and cultural center in western Romania. Located on the Bega River, Timișoara is considered the informal capital city of the historical Banat. Timișoara is Romania's third most populous city, after Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. It is home to almost half a million inhabitants in its metropolitan area
Timișoara was first officially mentioned in 1212. By the middle of the 14th century, Timișoara was at the forefront of the battle against the Ottoman Turks. Conquered in 1716 by the Austrians, Timișoara developed in the following centuries behind the fortifications and in the urban nuclei located around them.
During the second half of the 19th century, former bastions and military spaces were demolished and replaced with new boulevards and neighborhoods. The city was ceded from Hungary to Romania by the Treaty of Trianon in 1920.
In December 1989, Timișoara witnessed a series of mass street protests in what was to become the Romanian Revolution.

I had a very fun day in Timisoara, where 3 (or4) festivals were going on at the same time. In this video I'm trying out a new format, where I have a short intro, highlighting the most fun parts... Do you like having an intro, yes or no? Please tell me in the comments, and don't forget to Like, Share and Subscribe.

Definitely like the up front intro that highlights diverse scenes as a montage clip. Your camera & audio are excellent. I saw another videographer walking tour of Timisoara a few months ago; but, your set up is far superior. Where that couple spoke into the audio track to give info, your use of sub-titles is often better to keep the flow going. I will dive back into this one later in the week. My internet play back is frequently pausing itself. THANKS.

Then I will probably keep it for new videos. As far as I know there are only 3 walkers who use proper cameras (ME, Prowalk and HP Tours); the main reason being that they are heavy. You have to be very athletic to carry one all day. My equipment weighs almost 3kg - probably the heaviest.

@@walkandcamera Good to hear. I have seen your heavier camera set up in the rare shadow projected on the ground or a wall. As to your other reply on using "Transylvania" to help the foreigners understand, I had noted that you did the same on your "Oradea" video also. Your reason makes sense.

Finished the entire video ... THANKS. Now for a final comment: I really like the Intro montage video clip very much and also the overhead (drone-like) trace map of the route you followed. The entrance of the OEVE procession was very interesting. At about time mark 47 minutes, you walked right among them almost invoking a kind of "Forrest Gump" feeling as if photo-bombing the whole affair. Very good way of "being there" in the moment. Also I sense that given the weight of your equipment, the preference is to keep walking in a straight line and let the pedestrians split around you. Otherwise, the extra energy to keep switching path left/right tires you out faster. WELL DONE. (TECHNICAL NOTE -- The intermittent stopping of the video during my playback on YT continued, though less frequently than earlier in the week. There is something in the file upload that YT platform gives you that affected their sync function in some way.)

I do that just because it's more cinematic and there's a greater chance of getting a natural reaction... The only bad thing is when the reaction is for people to duck... I've been thinking of writing on my forehead: "don't duck, I carry a wide angle lens".

Timișoara is not in Transylvania. It is in Banat region. Very nice video by the way.

I was waiting for that comment... I put it in Transylvania partly to get the comments :))
And also because it's easier to understand for far away people...
