Cant agree more, i like it more than kamasu, it cleaner and the case just gorgeous, similar with $500++ seiko's prospex. Just swab the crystal to saphhire and it would be a banger
I own the version with the red bezel. I bought it prior to purchasing my Black Bay to see how I would get along with the red and black color combo. I still wear my Kanno often.
Terry - I agree. I just bought the Kano because the bezel is cleaner, and the larger size will wear better on my 7.5” wrist. In addition, the green that I chose was , to me, far more interesting than other dial options. Thanks for your review.
As a Casio Duro owner, it has convinced me that watches with 44mm size such as the Kano will look good on my 7 inch wrist. I'll definitely going to get the Kano as my first orient watch. It is a very beautiful watch with the minimalistic approach in design and I love it.
Buy one. i have the limited edition Kano Big Wave and its just so much fun to wear, even though I have a very thin wrist. I lust live the weight and the way it firs just perfectly to any size of wrist.
Unlike most of the comments I love this watch BECAUSE of the size. I have it in black and it’s the watch I reach for the most. I also have a Ray II with the blue sunburst dial and it is gorgeous in my opinion, BUT it’s small to me and gets lost with a dress shirt. The Kanno peeks out of the cuff and gets a lot of attention. The Ray II and Kamasu are both more dress watch size. The Kanno is definitely bold and beautiful.
This design is probably as close as you are going to get to a minimalist dive watch. I agree with you about the hand set. I also like the way the date is framed. If you don’t need ISO certification, this looks like a great watch.
I've had this watch just over a month now and love it. I'm new to watches but I've somehow formed an addiction very quickly 😅 This channel really helped me make an informed decision. There are things I now know that will make me more confident in my future purchases. Thanks TB.
I bought one of these as sort of “beater”/water sports watch- but I gotta say it’s really impressive. The rubber band is super comfortable and the watch is very rugged and good looking for this money. I’m a huge fan of Orient- and put them ahead of Seiko and Citizen- feels a bit more special for this $$$ and not just a department store watch
Of all the dive watches I own including two subs, a PO, a Tudor Pelagos and a Longines Hydroconquest this is my favourite. There are plenty of small watches out there for their small watch brigade, but the Kanno is directly aimed at people who like + 42 watches like myself. A 38mm witch makes me look like a participant in a 1930s B movie. Its a fantastic watch!
I loved the more toolish look. The mate hands and indicies are what i am looking for. And that alongside a classical design makes this watch something to wear on almost every occasion
If it had a diameter under 42 like others divers made by orient, a lume dot and maybe a sapphire crystal I think it would almost the perfect entry level diver. Greetings from Italy @Teddy Baldassarre. Great channel
100% this 👆🏼 I was thinking the exact same. Best handset ever from Orient, clean design, decent specs, although adding lume to the bezel and a sapphire might bump up the price by 50-70USD, I’d be VERY willing to pay that premium for a smaller, lumed, sapphired (?!) version 2.
About a year ago I exited the watch collection mania that plagued me for years. I have been full spectrum from $50.00 Casio Marlins to high end Oris etc. I bought a Kano for it's looks and value for the money. I have a large 8.5" wrist and this watch looks great even on my big paw. It is my daily wear watch on bracelet and is very comfortable. Highly recommended and now you can get one for under $200.
I love the minimalist look of this watch. They got the indices, the hands, the bezel and insert almost perfect. Unfortunately it's just too big. This retro-style would be so much better in a 40mm-42mm range. And it definitely needs a lumed pip. If they come up with that I'll be first in line. But at this size I'll pass. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Great review! If you upgrade this to a sapphire crystal and upgrade the bracelet you will be in for a total of about $400. I have done this and it is now better overall, and more accurate, then my Bond era Seamaster... the Seamaster gets about 7 Seconds a day maybe on average and this Orient gets somewhere between two and five as long as I'm wearing it... and it looks better although there will always be a sweet place in my mind for the seamaster! Maybe if it wasn't worth $2,000 in change I would feel differently?
I fell in love with the blue version with steal bracelet the first time in Kyoto during a vacation in 2019. Two weeks later, when we continued our Japan vacation in Tokyo, I decided to buy it two days before leaving for our flight back.
I don't care what all the TH-cam experts say about Orient, you know, "in house movement", "great entry-level brand", "no sapphire crystal" blah, blah, blah......................the Kano with the red dial is my favourite watch in years. It's gorgeous. My personal preference is 42-44mm, hey, I have a man-sized wrist. I love this watch more than some of my so called high-end watches. Stunning..................................
I just ordered this watch to have as one of my daily drivers. I've ordered the tag heuer carrera heuer 02 skeleton which is by far the most expensive watch I've ever owned and probably will own and it's nice to find a video like this amongst all the watch snobs out there rating affordable watches. Thumbs up!
I own 2 Orient KANOs very clean looking watches one with a blue bezel and kept the steel strap the otherwith a red bezel and black rubber strap which I replaced with a nice looking NATO strap from sniper bay just ordered the black bezel KANO as it looks so cool
So your online store sells the Kano for 235USD, excluding shipping. It's on Amazon for 156USD. If I purchase it, have it shipped all the way to South Africa and add the import duties and taxes, it's still just under 200USD. I understand one needs to earn a living and I'm all game for it, I just feel sorry for the people who don't look around and spend unnecessary money. Great channel by the way, I've bought 3 watches from your reviews and couldn't be happier with them!! 👍🏻👍🏻
There are MILLIONS of products around the world that you can say the same thing about regarding price. I can guarantee that everything you ever bought will be cheaper somewhere else. But you simply cannot expect anybody to compete with the likes of amazon, they sell items for next to nothing profit because they can afford to buy more of them so they get a cheaper price from the supplier. That's not the fault of any other retailer. Amazon got where they are by paying poor wages and putting smaller companies out of business by selling items at next to no profit. You will get zero customer service, as well as a thousand other tricks they get up to. You also get a lot of independent sellers on amazon selling cheap fakes. You can buy a watch for $20 or less so there's no need to feel sorry for anybody, if they're spending more then obviously they can afford it.
This is a my favorite of the Orient dive watches in this lower price range. The size is a bit of an issue for me though. The bezel is good. The bezels on some of the other Orients really feel like crap which is a big put-off for me
Being priced closely to the Seiko 5 Sea Urchin, I find this to have more value for money, maybe because of the 200M WR Feature and Screw-down Crown. Although when it comes to size, it can also be another thing for consideration.
Got mine for under 175€. For that price its a no brainer. I realy love it. Classy, sporty and very masculin watch. Would maybe not recommend it for wrists under 18cm. In comparison with Seiko 5 Sports it has a little bit worser polishing (imho) and crystal, but you have no misalignments and the bezel is by far better. Go for it, Boi!
Awesome Review, been waiting for this, thank you! Something about the Kamasu's bezel that just makes it look unappealing to me. I think it's those cave thingies on the bezel at the 1, 3, 5 etc. This looks so much better, shame it's so big however.
This is a great looking watch, especially the red dial one. I ordered one online and returned it because I didn't like the band. I then ordered a pepsi-bezel Kamasu and while it's a nice watch I think the Kanno is a nicer looking watch. I prefer the Kanno size, and the crown is higher quality as well. I regret returning the Kanno, it's a really nice watch and it's significantly cheaper than the Kamasu. I've learned that it's very hard to judge a watch from you tube videos and online images. Unfortunately Orient does not seem to have any retail presence at all where I live so I cannot see any of their watches in person. There is a Japanese made version of the Kanno available online from Shopping in Japan. I think I will be ordering that.
Man I was looking at this and a Kamasu for a long time and really honestly liked this better, especially considering I have a large wrist, but the lack of sapphire was just a killer for this vs the Kamasu. So now I'm sitting here watching this wearing a Kamasu.
It looks like a refined Duro and I'm not a fan of either. Had a few Orients in the past but the best one so far is the equally overlooked Triton mini pepsi which is like a refined skx.
Thx - 44mm is the biggest issue here. Got a 7 inch / 18cm wrist. Maybe you help us, if you take a bit more time for (various?) wrist shots, most of these are bought online 😅 thx a lot and have a good day 🎉

Thanks Teddy. Also started with Orient and this Kano is one of my favourite watches - while beeing one of my my most affordable ones. It looks fantastic runs with +5 - +8 (unbelievable and I am amazed by it every time I wear it). From my point of view there is no reason not to buy this great Watch.
I'm looking for a beater that's similar to my Pelagos 39 (not too similar like San Martin though). I'm planning on going on holidays in some locations where I don't want to wear my Pelagos, let alone any of my Rolex models due to theft concerns. This Orient Kano seemed nice enough for that purpose, but it's too big for my liking, so my question is: Does anybody here have a recommendation for a mechanical dive watch that's not bigger than 39mm/47mm lug to lug (Pelagos 39 measurements) and doesn't cost more than 300 bucks? Like I said, I only plan to use it a few days a year in sketchy tourist locations, I just want something to fill my wrist since going without a watch seems wrong lol and as cool and utilitarian as G-Shocks can be, I'd prefer a mechanical watch when sitting at a table in a restaurant, but it should also have 200m water resistance for the occasional actual dive in the sea. Any tips would be appreciated!
I'm going to throw it out there... some of the shots you have in this footage make it look like a CGI watch, they are that crisp and clean in 4K. beautifully shot
Thank you very much, I think it is important to get detailed shots of a watch for those watching as I know they are trying to make a buying decision. This watch gets a lot of credit. Looks very good for the price.
Hi Teddy or anyone one here that owns this model. Just got mine from Jomashop, great looking watch 4sure. But there's something bothering--- The "Lume". The strong lume it's only present in the hour and minute hands The seconds hand's arrow tip and markers appear to have a different lume intensity that can only be enjoyed when exposed to direct light like a flashlight or light bulb or direct sun light. IDK I think the lume material should be evenly distributed among the dial main components. I may be neat-picking , but find it odd. Anyone's input on this will be appreciated.
yeah good point on that @luke W , i saw another video of a man reviewing the same watch in red, he takes the mesure on the video with a digital tool and it says 47mm lug to lug ! But on the official website of Orient it says 50mm.... I dont get it, wich one is the correct lug to lug size ? can someone help, its crucial to my final decision since i cant have acces to the watch in real life. Thanks
This is one of my favorites, I think it is one of the best looking dive watches made by any manufacturer. The size is also perfect for me but I wouldn't mind if it came with sapphire. The Kamasu might be better spec'd but to me it is ugly.
Hey! Quick question, maybe someone can help me out. I recently got the RA-AA0009L19B as a gift. I have always thought this was the Mako 3, but I also see it listed as the Kanno. It there any difference to these? Either way it’s a great value for the money and I absolutely love the blue version of this. Love your channel btw!
I would recommend a simple nato either in grey or in olive green. Black could look good too. I also think a nice contrast stitch dark brown or black calfskin strap would look good as well.
@TeddyBaldassare Hey I would really like a video on watches used by the military on this channel. I have seen your video on the watches used in the Vietnam War, I loved it. Would really appreciate if you made a video going back to World War 2 and maybe the watches used currently by the military!! Thanks again😀
One day I'll find an Orient watch l can actually buy. The Orient ray has a winding crown that seems to small for a dive watch. I like the look of this watch, crown size perfect but 44mm? No.
@@silverghost4206 had a look at the Triton, great looking watch but iits too similar to my seiko king turtle. Looking to for another nice diver witch will look good with rubber strap. Maybe this Kanno or the Orient star automatic (bit hiigher in price).
History repeats, Mako XL was a much better looking watch than Mako and Mako II, now Kano and Neptune Lite looks much better than Kamasu. I sold my Mako XL because of the size, still waiting for Orient to make something like this in 41mm territory.
I think the Kano looks better than the Kamasu. if they make it smaller with Sapphire it would be perfect!
I KNOW LIKE 44m IM NOT A GIANY

I would recommend a simple nato either in grey or in olive green. Black could look good too. I also think a nice contrast stitch dark brown or black calfskin strap would look good as well.
These are diver styled watches and not true ISO or JIS rated divers. Anyway, this series is fantastic looking but might be a tad too large for some.
Y looove this design more over Kamasu, however the size and the saphire crystal made me not to pick this one.
What’s wrong with a sapphire? Genuinely curious
Is it Orient Kenoww or Orient Kaano?
Kanno
The crown falls off on the Kanno..according to reviews and my own experience..
IN BRASIL IS ORIENT IS BAD MONTADO NA ZONA FRANCA D MANAUS LOGO ENTRA UMIDADE
Do a kanno pepsi review.💪💪💪
spelled, "Kanno" on Orient's site. Easier to find the video if it was spelled correctly in the title.
@TeddyBaldassare Hey I would really like a video on watches used by the military on this channel. I have seen your video on the watches used in the Vietnam War, I loved it. Would really appreciate if you made a video going back to World War 2 and maybe the watches used currently by the military!! Thanks again😀
I actually have a blog planned on the subject. Maybe I can make a corresponding video as well.
@@TeddyBaldassarreReviews I would love the video, everyone will!!! Really Appreciate it!!
41mm with 20mm lugs and this would be the best.
This would be a good alternative to Tudor pelagos but 43 is too big 38 or 39 would be perfect
170 delivered from Joma......
This looks expensive. I like it
No Orient Kanouuuuu!!!
Orient Kano!!
Cazzo
This watch looks like it should cost a lot more money.
Great video
Thanks for watching as always, William!
@@silverghost4206 Mainly the shapes and proportions of the indexes on the watch face
I found my kanno diver for 198$
@TeddyBaldassare Good looking watch ❤️🔥
Agreed! Thanks for watching, Rohan!
ORINT and SEIKO IS BAD in BRASIL BAIXA QUALIDADE LOGO ENTRA UMIDADE, no ASSEMBLED DO NOT WATHCMAKER in BRASIL
History repeats, Mako XL was a much better looking watch than Mako and Mako II, now Kano and Neptune Lite looks much better than Kamasu. I sold my Mako XL because of the size, still waiting for Orient to make something like this in 41mm territory.
