  • Just a quick peek of the cabin layout.
Suitable for couples or a small family, these weekend camper boats are nice for weekend getaways.
If you plan ahead, they also work well for longer cruises in protected waters.
    Thanks for checking her out!

Love that front porch area. The enclosure makes that an extended all weather living area. A lot of boat in a small space for sure!

John, the front porch is one of the main reasons we like this type of boat. Thanks for the comment!

Cool video thanks for sharing. I love Intellisteer I have it on my houseboat and my Honda is networked to my Garmin also.

Thank you! I love the Intellisteer too! I thought it was pricey when I bought it but I soon got over that once I started using it. It adds immensely to the relaxation on a cruise.

Beautiful boat! Looks like a great setup. What's a reasonable price for one of same size and year these days? Thanks!

Tim, today, it seems as though "reasonable price" is hard to find. These boats have a wide range of prices because most are custom built. The earlier Catamaran Cruiser cabins have fiberglass laminated wood walls. Most of this vintage have problems related to that, unless they have been well maintained and in a covered slip or garage. I had to do extensive work on mine because of this. I knew there was some rot when I bought the boat but once I started work on it the "cancer" was much more extensive than I thought. The newer boats have composite laminated cabins now. I'm not sure when they changed over but I think it was around 2008-2010.
I would say the price range for one like mine would be $12,000 - 40,000. I know that isn't much help, but in the case of our boat for instance, I replaced the 2003 90hp Nissan with a new Yamaha 70, which cost around 11k, so you can see my point. I also have a trailer for mine, another thing to consider.
They are out there though. Our lesson learned - It is essential to have the boat inspected by a qualified marine surveyor or someone that knows these boats well, to determine its true condition and value...which we failed to do.
We paid too much for ours and was misled by the previous owner on some issues, so be careful if you ever consider one of these boats. Ours is a nice boat now though, after a years' worth of work. I enjoyed doing the work though, I guess because it gave me an excuse to personalize the boat.
There are some Facebook groups that exist related to these boats, just search for "Catamaran Cruisers", or "Lill Hobo". You can search through those groups and see many boats for sale or that were for sale to get a better idea on the price range.
      I hope that helps!
      Alan

Hey... I have a couple of questions for you sir. I am looking to put a intellisteer on my new Lil Hobo. Can you tell me which model you purchase for your Lil Hobo? Also did you learn anything that would be useful to me for the install? Did it fit correctly in the helm etc? , or was it pretty straight forward installation. Also, what couch brand did you use for the port side couch/sleeper? I noticed it does not protrude much past the galley cabinet depths. Thanks for any info that would be helpful.

@ThisLilHobo, I used the Intellisteer Type S F/Straight Shaft Helms F/Cable Steered Boats W/Dash Mounted Wheel. It just barely fit in my helm. I have about a half inch between the motor on the steering gear and the front bulkhead. Be sure to follow the recommendations on the wiring gauge and put it on a dedicated circuit. It was pretty easy to install. I think it took me a couple of hours. I got mine here...

The couch is just the standard issue Catamaran Cruise couch made in 2003 but It's been reupholstered. The one in the rear (starboard) is identical.

Hi John, Yes, they are manufactured in middle Tennessee. They build these to order, so it could take some time to get one made. There are some Facebook groups out there also where you could possibly find a used one, but they seem to go fast. Here is a link to Catamaran Cruisers website - www.catamarancruiser.com/8x31-lil-hobo-trailerable . On Facebook just search for Catamaran Cruiser or Lil' hobo.

    Сколько стоит такой houseboat?

    • @justkeepgoing
      @justkeepgoing  ปีที่แล้ว

It varies quite a bit, depending on the condition and engine used. One in this condition can be around 30,000 US dollars.
