  • Ever since swapping to RCV axles we have been faced with new challenges. This was a new one to me to break the diff carrier in half. So with some new things I have learned I am going to build a new better one.

    I always thought it was common practice to red loctite ring gear bolts🤷

    Good advice having shafts in then tacking the spiders. When we welded spiders we torched them up a bit before welding. Not sure if that really helped but we were not even as hard on our d 30 as you are. I had a g2 cover long time ago that leaked like crazy and cracked in a spot on the bottom. I have a couple cheap Solid covers that seem to take a beating just fine and dont leak. I bet those spiders will hold. Not a bad idea to encase it anyways. If something cracks off in there it may save detonating everything else.

      @dexjs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I didn’t do it once and nearly had to throw it away. It was that warped. Yeah I’ve got all my stories on G2. Best one is they told me the ring gear wasn’t hub centric. It centered with the bolts. I was shocked.

    I'm a heavy equipment welder I rebuild buckets and your welds are fine you should see the booger welds that have been holding them together for the last 15 years or so

    Hi Dex, Michigan loves the content!! ?- when U talked about the CV shafts p#ch8220 &8221. Can I run those in my HP D30? As long as I get the correct output spline count? Cause I don't hve ABS? Oh... Plus I'm doing the WJ Knuckle swap,for bigger brakes. Thank U jasonC from Michigan

    • @dexjs
      @dexjs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I donk know of they make them for jeeps. That's something you should ask dex. I know they make them for a ford 9 inch. Lol thats what I run in my stock car

    • @51-FS
      @51-FS ปีที่แล้ว

      Them are kinda expensive for the jeeps. I get mini spools for like 30 bucks for the stock cars
