I have a set of those "fancy measuring tools" like your brother has. They come in their own fancy wooden box and I'll ship them to you if you're interested. For free of course...
😮This sounds like you need different push rods that are just a little longer. I love your channel, Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family. 😊👍🙏🏼
You still got this jeep? Love you’re videos, I want to buy one of your fixed up old jeeps, 6cly with one engine rebuilt and air conditioning, cause I live in Alabama, hot here, want 4 wheel drive, like this red one, so How much money we talking about?
I always remember 25.4 millimeters is equal 1.0 inch. So, if you move the decimal 2 places to the left on both sides of the equal sign you get .25mm = 0.010 inch, or 10/1000 inch
I’m pretty sure a lot of atlanders are load c 6ply. Most tire sizes for these jeeps are common light truck tires so lots of 8 and 10 ply. The kenda klever at2 come in 4ply in some sizes
my jeep 4.0 Chilton manual spec. on rod oil clearance is .0015 - .002 and has the journal at 2.0934 - 2.0995. My last jeep motor had two half's one std and one .001 had to buy two sets.
So with that oil pressure gauge being out is because Jeep had the ecu calculate what the pressure should be at different rpm ranges. It’s factory calibration set in. Because I live in Australia jeeps here come with diesel engines and WJ - WG jeeps come with the Mercedes 611 series 5 cylinder diesel engine. Mercedes doesn’t run an oil pressure gauge or light on their engine. So Jeep had to come up with calculations for oil pressure at certain rpm points and move the needle to show pressure. The only problem with that was some customers complained about fluctuations in oil pressure at 100 kms per hour. When they did the calibration they set it right on the rpm that the engine was doing at 100. So if the rpm went up 100 rpm the needle would move up by 10 pounds roughly. A mechanical gauge is the best. Can you do an oil pressure testing on the 4.7 v8 please
I had a 2001 tj with the 2.5 had it rebuilt bottom up crank turned 10 under on mains and 20 under on rods resized rods new pistons and pins held 40 to 50 psi oil pressure all the time but every time i started it up after setting for an hour or longer it would knock for a cpl seconds???? Never figured it out and still running today was rebuilt 6yrs ago
Rex, think of it like this. Pull out 1 strand of hair from your head. Get your brother to mic it, it’s probably .003 . Ok now split it lengthwise into 30 equal slices. Each slice is equal to .0001. A common used term is “a half thou” which would be equal to 5 of those slices. And 25 of those slices would be equal to .0025, which is the full window your talking about. But most importantly, keep the informative/ livin you best life videos coming.
🫣. Love ya man welcome to the atard"" group. 🤗 Me the same way....keep on keeping on. Have a fantastic day buds. Question is the oil pump centered on the crank or is it eating the oil pump aluminum case on the inside....just saying
DEX! You got a digital caliper that can switch Inches and MM... so go and get caliper to those 2.0076, press button to MM, substract those 0.25mm and press again to get the Inches....
I HATE the fake oil pressure gauge on WJ's. I connected a potentiometer across the oil pressure line , and the 'pressure' displayed on the dash stays steady till voltage drops almost to zero, and then gauge drops to zero followed by the light, This proves the PCM software drives the gauge , not actual pressure ! It appears to have been changed on early WJ's that still used a 3 terminal sensor, making the later gauge into just a glorified idiot light.
I have been running motorkote in a few of my rigs for years. One being a Scion XB with known recall for piston and rings. My ex wife would run that thing down to 1qt in the system. I'd do an oil change every 2k miles cause of it. I believe motorkote is the only reason that thing is still on the road. It got sold so I'm sure that person will find out real quick she sold them a lemon. Just like the 94 grand cherokee she over priced and sold that needed a transmission which is still sitting on my back porch waiting for another project 🤣 of course the person that bought it found me on social media cause I got a bunch of followers and tried to bash me. I told him everything he needed to know about the vehicle and he calmed down lol. Told him I'd sell and install the transmission for $1800. Never spoke to him again lol
I had too stop this video half way just too say, you should have asked your brother to show you the way. Lol! I learned how to do it in school an still took me a while

Don’t worry about the math, your very informative to us newbie’s to the Jeep Community.
Respect for admitting you was wrong keep them videos coming 👍👍

I want to hear the real story how this guy won the lottery and gets to play with Jeeps every day. 🤔

Did ya ever figure out the 1st cylinder on the pickup? Can’t wait to find out what was causing that

Love your honesty!

Hopefully you put clevite tri metal bearing back in it
Loose main and rod bearings will definately cause low oil pressure.
That oil tub will drain faster if you open the vent. If it don't have one just drill a hole to accommodate a ¼-20 bolt.
I guess when I go back and look, I see a red vent. Maybe it was closed.

I'm still waiting on the update on the black comanche

I worked for a tribal police department for 3 years and drove a Cherokee for a patrol car ( not grand Cherokee) best vehicle I ever worked out of.

You have to add to find the over size for the bearing
I like that jeep, very nice.
Math is hard lol keep it up dex ur the man
It's all good, I have math anxiety, too. 😆 🤣 😂

If you had to change your name, it should have been DEX-J OFFROAD xD
I see what you did there... xj
thank you for including the math stuff. I suck at math
Matf. Yep. 4 out of 3 ppl sux at it 😳
Where ur located
This situation is where the melling high volume pump comes in clutch

Sounded like my timing chain rattle, and it was running bad.,
Love Motorkote , put it in everything i own
You're not incompetent if you know your limits and know when to get help.
Sheesh, reman cranks usually come with the correct bearings...
❤
Need some help on my engine
I hate numbers too my man lol.
If I was a 4.0 and had to be seen with them Lil’ Wayne wheels on me I’d knock like hell too just so I wouldn’t be driven.
I had too stop this video half way just too say, you should have asked your brother to show you the way. Lol! I learned how to do it in school an still took me a while
It’s “Don’t roast me “too” bad”. It’s the proper time to use the other to. Or too or whatever. Ha.
those oil indicator gauges are silly glad my xj didnt get one
I am going to blame the Golf on this problem
You could just put it back together and give me a good price on it.👍
Make another Video hack job! We need one a day!
Lol
👍🏻💯🇦🇺⛽️
At 22.00 mins, now who put the motor together that has 500 miles on it??? Just saying that he said it. 😏
Dex screw that math just use plastic gauge
😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
JUST DEX J
