1:36.01 and 1:40.38 -- I can't think of another person or another voice that I'd rather have rootin' for me over the radio during a race. He may be gone, but he certainly hasn't been forgotten!!
I think the only reason they threw the yellow is because PJ Jones hit really hard and they wanted to get the safety crew out asap. But it still likely robbed Kasey of his 1st win.
back in the early-mid 2000's those single/couple car spins off turn two on the big speedways were so common in the first few laps, not sure why but robby gordons spin on lap 1 in this race has been stuck in my memory since it happened lol

Nascar 06 Total Team Control Challenge Ryan Newman 12 Alltel Dodge Charger I’m Staying Out In the race he was in the 2004 version of the Alltel Dodge Charger as with 4 laps left he was on wire out tires and held off the field for his first victory of the season as the challenge he was in the 2005 version of the Alltel car as the players objective was to get in his race car and hold off the field for the last 4 laps to win the race like he did.
DW's tangent in the pre-race about too much change hits a lot harder today than it did then. He should have been taken seriously.
Would have been nice to see Kahne get his shot at Newman on the last lap
+Chris Kreager Kahne seemed to get screwed over on a regular basis in 2004
really could of had 3-5 wins that year

Darrel was so frustrated the caution froze the field. I think this was the first or second year this rule was implemented

I was too! NASCAR was just sticking it to Kasey. I don't know what their problem was.
I still have this on VHS! I was real bummed out when they ruined the race on the final lap...

Because he started really high up in the running order and it should have been a big one.
I was on the front of the grandstand Stewart hit. Still have a small scar from the debris that hit me lol
Love the stuff you put up. Got a request, though. Jimmie Johnson victory playlist?
If it wasn't for PJ Jones, Kasey Kahne's first win would have been the 2004 DHL 400. No doubt in my mind he would have edged Newman at the line.
My first Nascar Race.
As P.J. Jones crashes, Terry Labonte also wrecks on the final lap in the background.
Thanks for putting this up

Why did Sterling Marlin pit with 20-odd laps to go?? Cost him a victory I am sure!
