Elsa was at the time the second teenager to top the charts with Vanessa Paradis, they were never in competition because they both sang totally different things. Vanessa rather represented the fashionably dressed and slightly rebellious teenager in quotes from the 80s while Elsa represented the studious young girl, the gentleness, the best friend that many girls would have liked to have. I love Vanessa and Elsa, without any distinction. Elsa's songs were more based on romanticism, or on questions about the future of this youth of the 80s (song: the same time in two years), or even on parent/child relationships (song: please don' t go, in French (t’en va pas).
Great memories from when I was 11 when I was in 5th Grade.😊🥰😍🤩 I often heard this song but what I remember most is the CLIP of course which was broadcast on the M6 channel at the time or in the TOP 50 ranking on Canal + channel and the song was appropriate because it was released in the fall and also close to winter. I always have images in my head, I see myself in front of the TV watching, plus the song was rhythmic, I think it's the only one on the album that has that tempo. Since December and January last year on Tiktok, this song keeps playing over and over in posts because it snowed in the North and East of France, it was the most popular French song at that time even on accounts dedicated to the 80's. I think that the people who put this title in the background to accompany the photos or videos weren't even born in the 80's and didn't even know them. 😁😅
I have loved this song since a kid in the 80's as well, my dad bought this on CD single when we were on holiday in France(bordeaux) 😎 + would hear it on radio, in shopping centres, the music video in our accommodation showing the French singles/albums charts and some other parts of Europe. Sure you must also like/really like: Mylène Farmer, Niagara, Gold, Vanessa Paradis?? etc Also one of my fav theme parks in the world is: Futuroscope-I take it you been to UK before??
@@mikekaraoke No unfortunately I have never been to England. I had to go there when I was in college (in 9th Grade class I think) but as a priority we had to go to Paris (thanks to a raffle to have the trip cheaper) nor to Germany (second language) because the dates were practically the same. Yes, I know all the artists that you mentioned, especially MYLENE, who has become ICONIC (she must also release an album of remixes of some of her emblematic titles, of which she re-recorded the vocals on certain titles), NIAGARA, legendary group from the 80's and 90's ( separated at the end of 1993), GOLD (group from the south of France: Toulouse whose singer Emile Wandelmer "merged" in 1999 with certain members of another successful group IMAGES from the same city covering the hits of each time of the 2 groups) with unforgettable titles until the beginning of the 90's (their clips are always on TV or radio), VANESSA PARADIS of course, the other "Lolita" of the 80's-90's in "competition" with Elsa while There wasn't one, invented from scratch by the newspapers, with beautiful songs until the 90's and a little 2000's, after that I didn't like it! For ELSA, this title was even sung in Spanish or Italian and her first song in 1986 "T'En Va Pas" where she was only 13 years old (original soundtrack of the film "La Femme De ma Vie" where she had a role in it) was even released in Europe under the title "Papa, Please Don'T Go". The music is slightly different, there is even a 12", the CLIP also exists (see on the site). For the French version (T'En Va Pas), there are two versions (music videos), the first (sometimes little broadcast) where she appears very young. For “Jour De Neige/Snowy Day”, there was even a “Megamix Club” version (rare for an artist like her) and Remix Long Version.
@@mikekaraoke Did you see Derek do a reaction on Marc Lavoine? You know that song? It is part of his 3rd album "Les Amours Du Dimanche" (1989, one of his most accomplished albums (in terms of writing) at the end of the decade. "Toutes Mes Excuses (Chère Amie)" was released in early 1990 in a 7" Edit version (longer intro and longer song than the album version called "Chère Amie", which is most often found on his compilations or Best Ofs), a song magnificent but which he didn't approve. The long version is also very beautiful I think but only available on TH-cam or on the original Maxi 45 RPM or CDM. Ditto for another title in the same genre "Je N'Ai Plus Rien A Te Donner" (last extract in 1991) which will be shorter at 45 RPM. The 12" version is great too.
Hello Dereck. I'm a old french fan. I give you a idea of react off a performance of celine dion at Paris 1995. The same show of many of yours videos. She's singing Calling You, the main single of Bagdad Cafe movie. Maybe her greatest vocal performance. Take care.
Wow ! Is it really about sex ? I must be too naive, I only saw it as a song by a young girl about winter. "jour de neige" could be "jour de 💦" and "dans un grand pull qui me protège" could be "with a condom" 😮😮😮 Mais, mais, MAIS, elle n'avait que 14 ans !!! (j'en perds mon anglais...)
Quelque chose dans mon cœur is another great song of Elsa!
Yes I really like. 😉😊😍I hope soon!
I was 7 when this song came out. I'm old 😢. Elsa also sang with Glenn Medeiros "Un roman d’amitié" a teenage love song it's a beatiful soft ballade.
A smashing hit in France !
Merci !!!

Some people find it cheesy but I've always found it really nice and soothing. It reminds me a lot of my teenage years. Happy you enjoyed it !

On est d'accord...
J’adore cette chanson et Elsa.
Merci Dereck ! 🙏🏽🍀💫…🐣🐥

Nostalgie😢❤
You should check out Elsa's "Jamais Nous" featuring Laurent Voulzy.
There was a rumor it originally was a song written for Jeanne Mas, named "Jour de pluie" (Day of rain), and Elsa got it when Jeanne refused it.
Ravis de vous retrouver Dereck...
The " maxi 45 tours" is a house dance version!
.. Surprise! (J'écoutais Papa revient)

My favorite song from Elsa is Jamais Nous -> th-cam.com/video/-_1WH_Pad5g/w-d-xo.html So beautiful
Reacciona a Pet shop boys otra vez😅

Coming soon "Petit Frank" (1990).😉😁
