Just registered specifically to comment. Chris you’ve been an inspiration to thousands of us over the years, your knowledge and skills have grown exponentially, the enthusiasm is still there. I remember your piece about people who don’t finish project cars because they find a problem and they’re scared of fixing that and finding another problem around the corner. Your advise of just plough on, fix one problem at a time, helped get me through my last project (E46 M3) when it sat for several months untouched at one point. So sorry to hear about your medical news. It’s a shame Oscar can’t cut out melanoma with the plasma cutter! Fingers crossed for you buddy, doctors do an amazing job 🤞

5:30. Those are stainless steel compression fittings. They have a front and a back ferrule in them that bite into the tubing. The biggest thing is to make sure the ferrules are in the fitting correct and to make sure that the fittings are tightened 1.25 revolutions from hand tight to make sure it's properly sealed. I know Chris wont see this but I figured I'd write this in case he uses em in the future.
Can I just say you’re amazing. I just saw your channel for the first time today and I know it’s not just you working alone but holy shit you guys stripped a gtr cut it in half welded it together and then put everything back on it and got it running in 2 weeks. You’re like certified goat

Well technically it won’t be an R34 GTR. It’s donor vehicle is a GTT. Will need the rear quarter panels removing and installing the flared GTR variants. As well as a GTR body kit.

Yeah, lube is important... About 13 years ago I rebuilt a motor because I spun a bearing. Put in new bearings, took the car out, then spun the same bearing 10 min later. Go to drain the oil, no oil came out... Learned long hours and late nights can be a cause of mechanical issues, especially with no one else around to point out the simple obvious things you may over look cause you're just tired thinking like 10 steps ahead, instead of focusing on what you're doing now. lol Always good to have another pair of fresh eyes. Awesome to see the progress! Excited to see what's next!

I think a lot of us guys, similar to your situation, are neglectful about taking care of ourselves or simply don't like to go see the doctor, so we find reasons to put it off. Would you mind sharing with us how you felt, why you suspected you had skin cancer and give us a general idea of symptoms that should make us pay attention? I know I am a procrastinator when it comes to dealing with my health. Thanks and prayers going out to you for a speedy recovery.
Awesome 👌🏾. We use the similar joints you used to join fuel lines on Ejection seats, they handle more than 600psi that we use to test. So they are pretty good. ❤️❤️❤️

i hope all went well with doctors visit.. i lost my dad to cancer a few years ago... it turned my world upside down!!!.. prayers going out to you and your family, and hopefully they dont have to go through that like we did.
Good progress into GTR 34/35!! One thing to help with hard times is having a good time with your crew doing what you love to do and thats cut cars in half and make it into another!! Wish you good health and you will overcome this obstacle EASY!!

My dad is about to go through the same thing! Small cell something, started as a spot on his hand, had it removed right before he left for his Hawaii vacation, and in two weeks while he was in Hawaii it grew back twice as big. So he went back to the doc and they biopsied and it came back cancer. Now they have to do this drawn out exploratory surgery on his hand where they go and keep removing tissue and check every so often with a microscope and keep going until they stop seeing cancer cells. Assuming they get it all, a chunk of buttcheeck slapped on the back of his hand and in a few weeks after the surgery he'll be good as new! I hope both of your battles are short lived and victorious! He goes into surgery next month on the 16th!
The tumor that grew after the first removal is gnarly, it's super aggressive and is a little bigger then a half doller now, started off tiny and by the time he had it removed the first time is was about the size of a dime

Chris, you probably wont see this but i have the same thing going on but its on my nose. Been way too busy with work, kids, and a busy busy job so it got put on the back burner. Just a little red mark on my nose and it hasnt gotten worse but its time to get it checked out. Making an appointment tomorrow. (I would now but its way too late in the day). Thanks for sharing. The replacement oil cooler must be made from gold with platinum inserts and studded with diamonds.
Here in the Philippines, you can get an oil cooler for a gtr for about $2k a piece
