So glad to hear you've got some good news - genuinely moved to see the joy between you and Oscar! And really enjoying this build - can't wait for completion!
Joke: What do Chris and the R35 re-skin have in common? Answer: They both need a football size chunk cut out of them and then stitched back together and after its all done, their backside will never truly be as straight as they once were. Much love B crew, take care and glad to hear good news and you are staying positive!
Great news on your prognosis Chris. Wishing a speedy recovery once the back surgery is done. The rew are doing a great job on the skyline build. Keep us all updated on your health 👍
I had the same melanoma 12 years ago. My spot was on my shoulder. They took a 6x3 football shape and lymph nodes from my armpit. Came back clean. Good to hear your good news. My spot was the size of a no 2 pencil lead. I’m lucky I found it. It was itchy and I had it checked out. They cut one me all the time now, but it’s been good.
I had exactly the same procedure with the football shaped excision, and all nodes removed on the left pit. 28 years later, the lack of nodes have given me zero issues. You got this dude!
If you ask me, when this build is all put together, that car would DEFINITELY suit a coat of Millennium Jade, go all God Foot with the color, it would look SOOOO good! It's definitely a much less common color than the blue and red. Anyway, regardless of what color you go with, I'm definitely looking forward to how this build will progress!
Good news on the melanoma. My wife had one taken out of her leg earlier this year and it was all clear after they check the lymph nodes. Always surprising to hear the cost of medical treatment in teh US. We are in Australia and all we had to pay was the parking cost at the hospital.
@@buellb0y Dude, you guys are THE ONE western country who still haven’t figured out that you can have universal healthcare plus all your liberties at the same time. Time to do some introspection 😉
The great episodes continue, starting from your very first one! You three (4 with Chelsea) make an excellent, balanced, and reliable team. I wish for everything to go well on the health front and continue to have your team get regular health checks. Keep the builds coming! Stay thirsty!
My wife got diagnosed probably about the same amount of time after our wedding that you two did. She's all good now just like you will be, but if you get inside that chemo room, be prepared to be among some folks much like your crew that you will never, ever forget. You're part of a club now buddy, and every one of us that has ever been close to this is here for you in ways that you will probably not learn for some time to come. All the best to both of you and everybody close - after you overcome, you will not wish it never happened to you, this much I promise!
You guys could easily make a L frame pulling machine at the shop with stuff from harbor freight. I made one out of a engine hoist and a 10 ton bottle jack and it works beautifully. Also you guys should try heating the area that you're trying to straighten first. I know you guys figured out that you didn't need to straighten anything out but it's good for future reference
Oscar, Oscar, Oscar…. what a fu*** talented guy. He is a genius and nothing ever seems too complicated for him. He always get it done with a smile of a passionate boy.
Great to hear the good news! I hope everything is smooth sailing from here on out! (well, as smooth as cutting of a chunk of your body could possibly be)
Great to hear good news. I've had very similar done on the top of my head and also traced the lymph node. Currently having immunotherapy. Good luck Chris, it's amazing what they can do.
Hope it turns out good for you. I had a "small banana" cut out of my shoulder about 20 years ago, had me on suppressants and Odomzo for about 12 months after for cancer growth too close to nerve stuff. No sign of it returning. You should be in good hands, feel bad for you being treated in the US though, I'm Australian and the entire treatment only cost me about $200-$250 in medication.
The Barnum and Bailey's circus music was well placed. Made me laugh hard. Genuinely relieved that the found a solution for extraction. We wouldn't want to loose the lead guy of TH-cam's most innovative crew.
YES, Chris, that's EXACTLY the order of good news/bad news we want. The entire *point* of these builds is to have and solve problems - quite unlike a random runaway mutation of cells. Best of luck and prayers to you.
Hang in there Chris! Glad to hear the good news on the cancer! Definitely scary. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January and I know things can get overwhelming but always stay positive and always keep pushing because if there is a will there is a way!! Hope and wish you the best in your next steps!!
Chris, glad you got some good news man. Hopefully the entire situation is all under control. You and Chelsea are still in my thoughts and prayers. On a car note, Oscar is again the man in the clutch. (Shirt Idea: "Oscar the Miracle Worker")
You need to strap the car to something like a tree then wratchet between the subframe and the truck and pull the damage out using the wratchet. I had to do that on the side of the road for my whole front and left wing 😆😆 Hope everything goes smoothly regarding surgery I can't even fathom having to have that done 😩
this is the first youtube car build Ive checked daily for updates for in a long time, basically since the mustang that shall not be named. cant wait for the next one!
My dad had a massive piece taken from the top of his head and it was very noticeable and took a while to heal but after 6 months you could tell and now a couple years later you can see the difference in the hairline but other than that you have to really look. I hope everything works out well and while it sounds terrible i am sure that it will be less than what ever you have going on in your head. Love the work you guys are doing and look forward to the next one! Ps your jumpacan was in an article on Drivetribe's facebook page
Hey! I am from Latvia and started to watch your channel around 2 years ago from the GTR project. You guys are making great projects, It is a pleasure to watch how its done with your friends Oscar and Kyle. I have my own projects to do, so it is allways fun to see different ways how to make something old or not driving to live again. So I am very happy to hear your health problems are going to best possible way in your favour and I am confident everything is going to be great again. Greetings to you all, wish the best and good luck! :) Turās, veči! :) Edward from Latvia.
Chris, since you guys had good luck with the rear window, maybe you should try to make a mold of it? If there is even a chance it could get broken in the future, having a "plastic" spare would be awesome. Or if your looking for a business opportunity, become the sole supplier of lexan R34 rear windows 😁.
DONT remove ur lymph nodes u need them thats where cells from that area dump their wastes to get processed and removed via the lymph sewer system. all cells create wastes, if these acidic wastes dont get removed those body parts break down. Good luck
Amazing that not only the car was being chopped but you were being chopped as well. It looked like you and the car were going through it together. Can't stop with these serie of R69 videos.
Make yourself better buddy! That's the only important goal right now. As soon as the cancer is gone you are in the clear and you can concentrate on work the way you like.
I am not a car guy, but i enjoy your channel a lot. It’s good to hear Chris is on the road to the med. I have a question. When the car is done how safe is it going to be? cars today are made to Crumble to protect the driver and passengers of it. When you make the car more Rigid, is there the same Percentage of safety to walk away from a car accident? If you sell/give the car to someone?
Glad about the news, as mentioned I recently went through similar thing with Melanoma, had the lymph nodes from my arm pit removed, hurts like a b!+¢# (no sleep for a few nights and could not use the arm for much for about a month) but we'll worth it when you get the all clear. Advisable also to have total body CT scan, abdomen ultrasound scans and genetic testing. Also regular checks are important, although mine had not spread I had another suspicious freckle elsewhere that had independently progressed to another melanoma, if lightning can strike more than once get as many lightning rods as you can get!
this seems like it wants to be a tube frame chassis. Because at this point, its hard to say that exactly how the natural load structures are going to work ESPECIALLY when the geometry has changed so much (both intentionally or accidentally). In other words, make a tube frame rolling chassis. All suspension and drivetrain mounts directly to the tube chassis, along with the body. Have the body on it for aero and for looks, and leave the car a tube chassis underneath. Who knows, you might even turn it into something special (super rotation happy short wheelbase R34 drift car anyone?).
Just remember to take things one step at a time n celebrate the success n not lwt those down steps get you too low man. Glad to hear your treatment is under way
800 every 15 minutes for the anesthesia? Wow that's insane at 3,200 an hour, I gotta wonder how much that tech makes for administering it lol. I hope everything comes back good for you or at least that it's going to be an easy cure

One of the smartest things you have ever done was to hire Oscar. What a talent he is!
