A simple method for "rusting" model cars

  • My second edited video! Even though the first was less than 20 seconds! Let me know if this is bearable enough to watch because there's more tutorials I've been thinking of doing.
    its also more of a "how I rust model cars video" because there's so many different ways and none of them are wrong.
    also the looped guitar in the background was played by me as well.

    First off, bravo for using Testers paints, i also use Testers, and second, i never knew Mad Max drove a 69 Chevelle, but ok , its wild and wacky, a perfect example of just having fun with it, i know some people are cringing at your technique, don't worry about the engineers comments, you do you , thanks for the video

    I start watching this and every step he takes I'm thinking he's messed it up. Then at the end when he wipes off the black and I'm like "woah, this guys a master!!!"

    I have to say that your technique is one of the simplest and most effective I have seen so far . I am very impressed with the results considering the limited color input and minimal labor .I'm going to use your methods on an upcoming project and make a video , if it is a success I will give you credit.

    Wow, nice job. My eyes got open wide when you put the black paint on. That was not what I was expecting. So, the first couple of colors, were Testers Oil Paints? Then the black paint was water based? The first couple of coats, were dry before you put on the black paint? I am a new modeler and am currently working on my second model witch is the AutoCar Dump Truck. Very helpful info, Thank You

    Can one use just acrylic paint for everything?

    • @jszajk76
      @jszajk76  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can but there's a chance the wetness of each new acrylic layer can effect the dry layer below it. That's the main issue with water soluble paint.

    • @perhapsyes5745
      @perhapsyes5745 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Acrylic paint becomes water-resistant once dry. I have had no issues using acrylic paint for terrain modeling, using several layers of 50 cent paint.
      Your mileage may vary though
