Stupid question, but I guess you literally will dive while carrying the camera with those big tripod legs extended? I feel like if I went diving with other people they’ll look at me like I’m crazy. Also, do you like to put everything together prior to getting on the boat or do you do it when traveling to the first site of the day?

Hi Adrian, not a stupid question at all! Keep in mind the legs are attached via a clamp, so you can dive with those arms folded/pointed upwards so they're out of the way as your diving or want to shoot without the tripod. We suggest building the entire rig before even getting on the dive boat so you're not caught fumbling with the camera assembly in a rather wet, unpredictable environment.

Hi Eran. Yes, they can be purchased separately. They come with a 1/4-20 stainless thread to screw into what ever you like. You can see them here: reefphoto.com/products/xit-404-tripod-twist-clamp

For the price of these products, It's almost comical what you get. For over $200 for the base and at $500 + for each leg. It's such a BS sales pitch! Like seriously a SLR Joby adjustable and $1 bolt gives you way better adjustable angle for a fraction of the cost.....

Hey Iain - so glad to hear the Joby is working out for you - that is all that matters. Fortunately there are different tools for different needs. Enjoy your diving!
