Too many TH-cam vloggers who seem like just more narcissists yawn. To me that is what makes you guys different and special! I could be wrong as people can appear to be anything before a camera but my intuition says you are genuinely good hearted people not putting on appearances, and again what makes you very special !

I totally understand the lure of the colder weather. I used to camp, canoe, fish...all those summer things in the Autumn and into Winter and enjoy them so much more for the exact same reasons Cory mentioned, fewer people, less bugs and you don't get so hot and miserable. Just love it.
Hey Cory, I really wish you would wear a life jacket while out on the lake, especially being alone. My hubby flipped our canoe with me in it while trying to fish. The water was so cold I went into shock. Thank goodness there were other boaters out who came to our rescue! I can laugh about it now.

I was looking at your old SMP videos again the other day and I have to say that while you're still your same fun/goofy self, you and Kristen have really matured since finding each other. And honestly, very few people stay the same throughout their life. Part of life is learning and growth. You still have your outdoor adventures, but now you have family adventure as well and I think this combination of old and new is a great thing to have. You'll never lose your "Dude" self no matter what the new name is (which you already inferred), and that's so awesome. Keep on being your awesome self!

I have to add I was 29-34 years old when I lived at Daniels Lake up there on the Kenai Peninsula. I loved canoeing around the lake in the evening when the Loons were out and sun was setting. I did tip. A few beers and no fear getting close to shore to pull up to our dock. It was COLD! Same time of year except no ice. It took a long time to warm up. Lesson learned. I saved my Walkman though!

If you ever have a hard time getting through ice you can try making waves by gently bouncing up & down (just be safe about it with a small boat like that), it's pretty powerful once you find the right rhythm. It'll break the ice into smaller pieces and the sound it makes is cool too, especially if you're completely surrounded.
I'm cool with the name change. Can't wait to find out the new name. I'm SO jealous that you get to see bald eagles. They are my favorite bird and I got to see a couple when I went to Alaska a few years ago. They are so beautiful.
