If you don't mind me saying so, I think there is a small difference. As a native English speaker who is learning Portuguese, there have been times when I've used "vir" and my friend has told me that I should have used "ir." This seems to happen when I speak about future events when I'm talking about a place that I will be in the future, but I'm not there now. E.g., Are you coming to church on Sunday? I'm not at the church now, but I will be on Sunday. I can use "come" in English for somewhere I will be, but I am not there now. I've been told that I should say: "Você vai à igreja" and not "Você vem à igreja." I should use "ir" and not "vir," which is what I want to use if I translate directly from English.
You're such a very very good teacher, Emma. I know that two verbs but you taught us the differences between the two in the best way. I love the way you teach us. Thank you so much.

When I saw the title of your video, I knew for sure that you would cover everything in detail, and I was right. I'd always have the doubt about the last usage that you explain. Finally I'm clear now. Thanks a lot.
Emma, thank you so much. Your learning method is superb. I love it so much. You are also so jolly, humoristic and liberal hearted person. May you live long with sound health and successful life. 🤲🤲
“Come” and “go” is like “vir” e “ir” in Portuguese! Thanks Emma for clarifying the use. I appreciate your lessons, very much!...
Thank you very much for your videos
Latin:
venire = to come
ire = to go
