    Malaysia more to Islamic country.
    Thailand more to Buddhist country.
    But we don't fight.
    We love each other.
It's because of tolerance, understanding and the most important thing, respect.

u should be friendly in the first place its like saying his black and i am white we dont fight.... well are u expected to? there no reason to hate ur neighbour if they do nothing wrong to do. we can all live peacefully. But if u ask me Malaysia is better than Thailand 1) Easier Visa process, 2) Multicultural 3) more food varieties 4) no falang prices. Thailand aint bad but for me personally Malaysia has more to offer.

James, we look forward to you visiting our country Malaysia. Visit BOTH. WE are quite different that you will find very few duplicate experiences! Even within Malaysia, you'll find that we are quite diverse within Malaysia itself.
Visit Penang, UNESCO site with plenty of nice beaches. The food is great.
Visit Ipoh, an hour and a half drive south of Penang and travel back in time to colonial Malaya, with fantastic street food, limestone crops, temples, nature sites (Gua Tempurung) and more beaches if you want to in Pangkor.
Visit Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya and feel the pulse of metropolitan Malaysia. The energy of the city will awaken your senses. Experience the Twin Towers, great shopping, Batu Caves, Royal Selangor Pewter, and much more!
I can go on and on. But one thing we promise you is Malaysian hospitality. You don't make you feel like a tourist. You are more of a guest to us!
Welcome to Malaysia. (P/S: This is NOT cut and paste!)

Great! For once the comparison is between Malaysia and Thailand! Getting sick with too many channels, especially Indonesian ones, comparing Indonesia with my country Malaysia! We Malaysians have no issues with Thailand, and they don't have issues with us. We cook, make, sell and eat lots of Thai foods in Malaysia and Thai foods are delicious to my Malaysian tongue, and the good Thais never accuse us of stealing their culture. Love you Thailand! Greetings form your neighbor Malaysia.

Malaysia and thailand relation were eversinced very warm relation as all of the northern states still have relative on both sides. The royal of the states sultan still have royal blood relationship.
Thai malay border were open for 18 hour everyday and both side enjoy crossborder of people about 1 million people everyday. Hence malaysian are among the most that contributed to thai tourism. Thailand are the no 1country that are visited by malaysian. Same too for thailand.

Youre right guys, Malaysia is the melting pot of Asia. We are the middle kingdom of Asia where the west and the east meet @ Malaysia. You name it, we have it. Simple example, It is super easy to find good Thai’s food in Malaysia whilst you cant really find Malaysian food in Thailand. Well, if You like tropical forest? We have Taman Negara. You like tropical islands? We have Langkawi, Pangkor, Perhentian, Redang, Tioman & one of the biggest island in the world, Borneo! You like hiking the mountain? We have Gunung Kinabalu. You like scuba diving? We have Sipadan Islands (oops closed for now). You like budget airline? We have AirAsia, one of the best budget airline in the world. You like shopping? We have connected shopping center around KL such as SuriaKLCC, Pavillion, Lot10 etc. You like famous orange man @ Orang Utan? Go to Sepilok, Sabah. So much more to discover, mate. Selamat Datang to Malaysia

As a South East Asia new beginner i would prefer western Malaysia. Hotel, bus, train tickets are easy to book from home (Thailand Railways side some times is closed for foreigners craditcards). KL has TBS bus station that has a good conection to the metro/local train (which takes you every where except the Zoo ).Every person even in less touristy cities speak english. In a 2nd step taking east Malaysia on borneo or Thailand. Even Bangkok you need tuktuk/uber to get to the southern bus station to catch a bus to Phuket or get to the old city of Bangkok.

I'm a Thai and your comparison is really fair. I feel like Thailand is trying to evolve itself into a world wide tourist country that it's starting to lose authentic features like foods. McDonald popping everywhere, Western franchises invading, etc. It's not a bad thing because for us it gives more choices but for Western tourist coming to the country looking for authentic experience I can see how that's a bad thing.
For transportation tho, it's a bit unfair to compare Uber services on both countries since it depends on the Uber company alone so a better way to make it fair is to compare public transportation instead, and most people started using Grab now. Uber is starting to fade in Thailand, but it's just a little thing. You guys made a fair opinion!

    • @RealWorldTravelers
      @RealWorldTravelers  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hi Fuya! Thanks so much for your insight! It's nice to hear that as a Thai person, you feel we made fair comparisons.
As far as transportation goes, you're right - we definitely should have talked more about public transportation! I guess what we forgot to mention or add is that it was just more difficult to find a wi-fi connection to order Uber in Thailand. We didn't even think about how it might be fading out in Thailand.
      Thanks so much for watching!

    Great comparison.
Here is my experience having been to both countries more than 4 times each:
Food wise: Thailand Win but love Malay food too
    Accommodation and Quality: Malaysia Win
Sites and Attractions: That is a very hard one because they were both awesome and I would say it'll be a tie on this category
    Transportation: Definitely Malaysia
    Safety: Definitely a tie
Comfort: Malaysia win because being a Muslim from the UK, I felt at ease in Malaysia but I won't knock Thailand because I did feel comfortable in Thailand especially in Krabi.
    Feelin' like a tourist: Thailand
Major Differences: Yes I agree with both of you on this regarding religion and culture but I have been to mosques in Thailand (Bangkok, Koh Panyee, Koh Phi Phi, Ao Nang, Koh Lipe, Koh Lanta, Phuket) but yes Thailand is mainly Buddhist population although Southern Thailand has a large Muslim population. Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country but there are Christians, Buddhists and Hindus there too
    Cost of Travel: Definitely Thailand
Ease of Travel: Definitely Malaysia. Malaysia is a commonwealth country and the ease of speaking English there helped me since English is my primary language. I did find it challenging at times in Thailand with communication in English
Overall, Malaysia just shades it for me. But Both Malaysia and Thailand are in top 5 favourite countries visited with Malaysia 4th and Thailand 5th

They say Thailand is best to visit from November to March, while Malaysia is best from April to October.
Why that difference ? I mean Malaysia and Thailand share borders, so they should have almost the same weather, no ?
I ask this question because i want to plan a big trip to southeast asia starting from Thailand, then Malaysia, then Indonesia, but i don't know when...
