It’s not an infotainment touch screen, it’s ford’s 10 in monitor screen for MCT use. Very rare to see it in the explorer because 99% of the agencies have separate computers or tablets.
I got really excited when I saw this video thinking that y’all were going to actually test them and put them up against eachother. Real disappointed to just get read the specs. Should try and put something together and put these 3 up against eachother in some tests.
im a mechanic for a police agency so all I do is repair and maintain police cars., by far the explorer is less to maintain and the officers say they are fast and like driving on rails going around corners. the tahoe is ok, lots of blind spots top heavy and crappy brakes that squeel all the time. the previous tahoes coolant leaks, transmission issues, internal engine problems I hope the newer tahoes are better but probly not.the durango well its a dodge and the engines..uggh lifters and cams and cooling issues .. blah blah blah.. not to mention the battery is under the back seat what a pain. Id have to say by far the explorer wins
Ford is tight ride is good, fast. Blind spots aren't bad. I just got a new 2023 tahoe ssv (k9) the ride is amazingly smooth. Good on gas, lots of space. V8 is a plus, massive blind spots (still getting used to it) I would much rather have an actual column shifter. Those buttons take some time getting used to. And they don't belong on a police vehicle. All in all I love the tahoe
@@utilitac333 I don't care about speed ik talking about performance Wich car drives best and handles best?? A stock Tesla is quick but has no performance
@@Carlos_vibes67 I've heard that the explorer handles the best then the durango and finally the tahoe but that makes sense. The durango I've heard that most officers don't like and that "anything is better than a durango"
My agency uses the Tahoe PPV's. As a personal and practical vehicle, the Tahoe is a great rig. However, as a police vehicle, the Tahoe is far too slow and heavy! The Tahoe is slow to brake, slow to corner, and slow to accelerate. If chasing a vehicle in an urban/suburban area, after two or three turns, the suspect vehicle gaps the Tahoe significantly. Plus, the transmission takes too long to shift when I need to turn around on a two lane highway. The 5.3l is old and underpowered, especially after it's loaded down with all of the gear and equipment. Sure, it can reach 150mph......but it takes a few weeks to get there. Top speed only matters on Interstates or rural highways, it counts for nothing in an urban area. If you can't accelerate fast enough to read the license plate of a fleeing vehicle, the radio can only help so much.
No unmodified police tahoe is over 134.5 without a tail wind. Michigan state police and LA sheriff vehicle testing and many pursuit videos have made proven this. Current body style accelerates a hair quicker but is even slower on top speed
Having driven the explorer and durango ppv, the explorer handles better and is faster. I would not trust the durango in a chase due to it being top heavy. I'd take the explorer over any of them
…and costs the taxpayers the most by far. Most expensive to buy, most expensive to upfit, uses the most fuel, etc. It is beefy and durable, but also slow and not great handling.
@@byronchavarria4954 Well in America we use American cars and Toyotas are slow. U got ur 2% one off undercover cars where some might be Toyotas but other than that they’re all American usually Tahoes, Explorers, Chargers, Taurus, Crown Vic, Durangos, F-150s, Silverados, Rams, and Impalas.
They only extended it a few inches. Makes hardly any difference in handling and turning radius but added more room inside. Idk why anyone would not want that.
Wrong statement on the Explorer, there is an option FPIU touchscreen
thanks for the info man!

Unfortunately, we were denied permission to drag race them

As an upfitter for our department I prefer Tahoe PPV. We started the switch from PIU to Tahoe PPV in 2021.
Ok but Wich handles better?

If it's speed you want, the HEMI charger is what you need.... Until it blows up
