I never knew their was a app you can use instead of pen and paper that will make it much easier to make the packing list thank you for making this video 😊
I used to do the pen and paper method, and I know it works for some people, but I also have a particular way of laying things out on the floor to then check off as I put them in the bag :)
Got this in my recommended 2 weeks before comic con. For once I’m travelling and staying near the con so I need to properly pack so this will hopefully help out
For my future Original Design Elsa project, I had already thought of buying a storage box just for the huge train of tulle which is 10 layers of 20 yards per layer so around 200 yards of tulle for the overskirt/train alone without the 1840s dress that is worn with it which could just hang on a hanger in a dress bag. Big dresses usually are heavy, fragile, and expensive and they should be carefully stored away so they don't get light damaged or something since some fabrics get ruined just from sunlight.
So- we’re only going for one day to my first con, and I want to go in a cosplay i’ve been working on for a long time- my parents are letting me know “hey, if it isn’t super popular, people are more likely to not notice it” … It’s a Technoblade cosplay but ok- and also idc if people will notice it- I just wanna go for fun- so I’m super excited, and if my friend gets the cape done soon i will be ready very fast- I’m already done with most accessories for the cosplay(only waiting for the cape-)- I will be making a checklist as i get ready that day- i’m very excited- my outfit is comfortable but also looks like the character, shoes are good for walking a lot, and i’m happy with props! this is gonna look good-
@@RoseofBattle While true, it is a very popular content creator, i highly doubt that i won’t see anyone else in a MCYT content creator cosplay- it’s a pretty big con- but i rlly don’t care if i do get stopped, it’s expected if your in a cosplay- there will always be that one person who wants a photo always-
Thanks for such a helpful video, I will definitely use this whenever cons start opening up again! Just to remind myself, what’s the app you use for packing called? I’ve searched up ‘packing list’ on the app store and there’s a lot of similar looking apps 😊
I'm looking forward to the day we can attend cons safely! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thr app doesn't have a great name for searchability, haha. The free version is Packing List Lite, and the icon is a green suitcase.
@@Drowned_Brother Good luck with getting your costume ready! I'm doing final prep for Otakon in time for next weekend. I made this video so, so long ago, and it blows my mind how it's still helping people today!
I grew up with my parents having a plastic bag with tons of other plastic grocery bags inside hahaha. My state no longer offers plastic grocery bags and I have reusable bags now, but if you still have some, they're useful!
Me and my friends Matty and Sam are going with Sam's dad and Matty's mom to a cosplay con when they open back up! I cosplay as genderbend Runa Yomozuki/normal Katsuki Bakugo, Sam cosplays as normal Runa Yomozuki, and Matty cosplays as Midari Ikashima. We don't know what con we're gonna go to but prefferably a smaller one.
what would you recommend for large bulky and delicate props? Such as complex armor or even.. idk a massive pair of antlers. i dont have a massive pair of antlers or even complex armor so im just asking out of curiosity
I’m not sure. I’m driving to a con near me soon. I’m planning to just hold my chest plate in my lap. Maybe for antlers you could wrap them in newspaper?
@@zzander_9101 Ah! With covid-19 right now, most cons are (rightfully) canceling, so you'd be hard-pressed to find any tickets available at the moment. However, typically conventions will announce on their social media pages when they've opened preregistration, and you'll be taken to a page to put in your information and payment info, then you get an email to bring to the con so that you can pick up your badge. Otherwise, you can buy a badge at the convention (if that's available).
Great question! It's really up to you. I also wear glasses on the regular now, and my eyesight has gotten worse over the past few years. I used to leave my glasses off all the time when in cosplay (but have them in a case on hand in case I needed them), but sometimes I get headaches doing that. It's important to do what is most comfortable for you. So now I tend to wear them if I'm exploring the floor of the con, but I leave them off for photos. (I just gotta check my makeup on my nose where my glasses rest before I do a photoshoot.)
@@RoseofBattle Good to know. My eyes are different so I can see without them but I wanted to make sure if it was better if I were them or not. Thanks for answering my question though😁
@@s-wo8781 it's a very old video of mine, and I'm slowly going through to videos to add subtitles. I can prioritize this one for next (not sure why automated subs aren't showing up, though)
This is so helpful, not only for cons but for general traveling!
I'm glad! I definitely still use a lot of these techniques for my non-cosplay trips.

That will help me I have a bad case of packing OCD I have to have my cosplays and other stuff set a sertan way on my bed or I get crazy

For props I used a bass case for my yuna staff and it worked really well although the bag itself is pretty big and inconvenient.
Nice! Some of my friends use golf club bags and say it's worked well.

What if you have a bulky costume? Like a FNAF cosplay.
When it comes to the cosplay but you also have glasses, should you wear them or leave them off?
