  • Hello and welcome to my channel. Presenting my first ever three sided bowl using about 550 pieces of scrap wood. The bowl started with about a 8.25 x 8.25 inch glue up. The finished height is about 7 inches with about 11 inches between the winged points. This was a seriously fun project. What do you think?

Awesome! It might have been 555 pieces. Either way it was a fun project and the better half likes it as well

Hi ray nice project. Just came across your channel. How are you liking the 1524? You still happy with it?

Overall, I am very happy with the 1524. The fit and finish are fantastic. I’m in the middle of turning a green ash bowl that was at full capacity for this lathe, about 15x10 inches and weighed a ton. I knew going in the legs seemed a bit under weight so I added a plywood box/counter weight to the legs that hold about 200lbs in sand and that works great to stabilize the lathe while rough turning something large to a balanced blank. The horsepower of a 110 motor can be an issue but with regular sharpen tools it’s been fine for me. Eventually I will get a tool review video posted but for now I’d buy it again for sure.
