Just began to try this mod on a softer normal mode and gotta say that the one thing that differs the most from vanilla, is: Anything that you can't keep track of, its better off destroyed. On my tuning up matches, it came to me that the enemy has from 5 to 7 times the amount of infantry, and several times more tanks (normal economy), so even if you clear a 47mm AT or 25mm AA, the enemy can easily re-crew them multiple times. So 9/10, its best to hit the plates and see it blow up. Outta sight outta mind.
idk if this works for soul crushing too but having some officers as spots (manually even) and letting the big guns rip their bundled up formations works wonders. 37mm HE is a "f-you" sniper type, short 75 is "f-you and everyone around you"; but 100 HE is definitely "to whom it may concern" xdddd
Funny enough, i tried a CE V2 campaign yesterday as well, on this very same map. And first mission, i got all the "events" at once. Traped vehicle, artillery recon AND no radio, so no enemies on map. Gotta say i quickly gave up XD Also something to be wary of, the AI WILL recrew any AT gun or Machinegun if it's still on the field. If you don't want to take it, destroy it entirely.
Jeez. I can barely play CE2 on normal. The difficulty is nuts on that already. The Arty spam makes defending a nightmare Its worth mentioning the "emplaced" tanks cant move, even if you steal them. (And you don't get to keep them) so sneaking up with AT grenades is a really good way of attacking them. Just watch out for the other emplacements (AA/AT/MG) covering them. I salute the attempt this should be a great campaign
Awesome battle, got tense near the end. That mode looks great if you wanna set aside an afternoon for it, you're not gonna log on and get a quick win after kids are in bed etc and you only have half an hour lol
Tanks are far more important in this mod and imo you should rush them. You need something that can deal with enemy armor and tank shots. I usually rush the Pz III F and pair it with autocannons/infantry guns.
You can't solely focus tanks I've found. The AT weapons are so common later on you need some infantry and Arty support or you'll get crushed. Their long range Arty generally kills a tank per battle assuming you airstrike them the second they reveal themselves.
Not gonna lie mate, I'm a new player that decided to try this mod (on normal difficulty) and my campaign is progressing painfully and slowly, when i saw your video recommended to me i hoped to learn something to improve my chances! Only to see you struggle just as much 😅, but you do manage your losses a lot better than me, definetly a lot to learn from this series!
Great video. Does the way the soldiers drop when dying come from the Conquest Enhanced V2 mod? Because my base game has them dying in more set animations, only becoming limp, in the way shown in the video, when being hit by high explosives.
I really wish they'd split this into two mods, one with all the additional features like expanded fortifications and all that stuff, and the other with the insane AI bonuses. I really want to try this mod but the crazy AI buffs means I probably never will.
Just play the mod with the vanilla or easy difficulty. Vanilla is quite literally vanilla health values with ai aim debuff from base game just with new ai enhancements (more intelligent defense and attack and the other Conquest enhanced features)
Great video, i just got gates of hell a couple days ago and im enjoying it! Its easier for me to get hang of it because im familiar with strategy games like total war, hearts of iron, steel division, etc etc, i have a question though, i am trying to find a good mod that is ultra historical and realistic, have you got any good mods you know of? Also is there any mods that add nations so i dont have to spend money on dlc?
Cool new start to conquest! Try out using mass 221s. They only cost four points each, so they are pretty cool and efficient units for their cost even though they are quite expendable. And most of all.... they give you that sensationel feeling of a proper blitzkrieg! Swarm the enemy before they have time to react.
@@SirJellyBean Very true. I usually use three and sometimes one 221 survives. They are great at assaulting and flanking with speed, the enemy artillery even in the late stages of conquest. Inside my head the Indiana Jones theme always plays when I assault the large guns with the small 221s. They don't often survive, but they definity often pay for themselves many times over. Kamikaze 221s really
I think I've asked this before, but is the vanilla ai on par with what CE has to offer? I've probably played like 1-2 hours max vanilla before I installed CE and I never saw the ai do anything else other than just staying on their points (or very close around them) waiting to get blasted. Is it because I only played on normal? What am I missing?
Hello, is there a playlist ? I looked up your playlists and couldn't see one.. I tend to listen/peek at your vids while working, because you explain everything so well. I also tend to watch your campaigns in order. Conquest enhanced is not bad at all but it struggles with coop sometimes ..
Haha luchs 😮 they had the ability to penetrate a sherman from 100 meters but good luch with that haha, they only made 100 of them before allies stsrted bombing the factries an planned 1000 but 100 made rest put down to make more panthers
Do you have a rifleman accuracy mod on with this? I hate how innacurate rifleman are. The Russian Penals will miss all 5 shots from a good 20 feet away sometimes. @ 15:30 - that machine gun was laser beam accurate!
Have a few questions for anyone experienced enough with this mod... I assume the sabotage is using the satchel charge present in the vehicle inventory... If so... can you disarm the sabotage by looting the satchel before entering or find out if the vehicle is sabotaged or not by checking the inventory to see if the satchel is missing?
@SirJellyBean there are 2 reasons for my assumption. First is based on what the AI soldier says at the start of battle. Rig it to explode or get rid of all the ammo, meaning vehicles that do not have satchel get emtied out of ammo... Second reason is the scuttle button in the vanilla game that only works if the vehicle has satchel/3kg charge in inventory ...
Another reason is I saw another content creator scavenge a KV-1... it was sabotaged and killed the guy he sent in... but the explosion was not strong enough to destroy the KV-1 permanently... so he just repaired it again and just drove away. No more traps. That leads me to believe the explosion is the satchel. If I am wrong than KV-1 just have some kinda resistence against sabotage.
It's not a resources thing that adds difficulty. One aspect is you field much larger armies in each fight. due to rebalanced troop costs, so a regular squad of infantry isn't the same cost as a mid war tank, meaning you can field 8+ squads of infantry if you buy the cheaper variants (prison battalions and the like) More flanking, larger tech trees with more interesting options, like mine clearing tanks to make mines less powerful and long view range artillery to pound entrenched positions. More aggressive counter attacks and infantry swarms (you can literally be charged by hundreds of men at the same time, overrunning any defence without dozens of automatic weapons or artillery support). A lot of base game tactics won't work in CE2, including any "static" defence. You will get blown off the point. Without powerful AT you will lose. Without powerful anti infantry weapons, you will lose. Without sufficient support, you will bleed infantry from one shots. A single sniper can massacre two squads, because they shoot and disappear quickly. If you can't dislodge them with artillery or armour, they will murder dozens. The fins are a nightmare to fight because they bring 500 support units (mortars, MGs, AA and field guns) that make them awful to attack and such huge field guns that defending against them is somehow worse. Late war tanks aren't as strong when you can field 8 AT guns in a single reserve wave. Late war infantry have better HP, but you can't take a hit. Grenades/explosives are way more effective when you have less HP and rifles simply don't fire fast enough against massed troops. TL;DR it's tough for a lot of reasons.
@@ACDCgunslinger So basically the cheaper ones are better (depends on what infantry, at guns or support that a player will be using) and that armored cars are better than tanks
@@privatepoggers5056 yes and no. Late war infantry have significantly more HP, weapon skill and have better weapons. By late game the prison battalions are killed before they are useful. It's a balance, you want cheap enough troops, but enough to withstand the better AI.
At 21:08 there is a small hill on the right side of the screen that could be good to shoot down into the lumber yard, if you have to fight on this map again. Also you say it's cheeesy to just arty their guns, but it's really the Russians fault if they just sit there and take it.
@@SirJellyBean the game overall is FANTASTIC! the graphics are perfect nothing more nothing less it needs, and they also did a good job on maps. They only need to improve the AI and the first person shooter and it's a blast!

Good points the little AT guns are the worst as they seem less of a threat but can still knock most tanks out eventually.
Officers would work in soul crusher difficulty , but one situation and they would drop so might be to micro heavy .
Great job. Wish they'd make a mod that makes conquest historically accurate
That would be fantastic
