Honestly, Gates of Hell just has way more love put into it by it's devs compared to Men of War 2
Men of War 2 isn't even Men of War anymore, it's just Walmart Company of Heroes.
It baffles me how they reached that decision, and makes me wonder if the trailer that they showed few years ago was just down in Assault Squad 2 because it looks nothing like what it is atm, hope Gates of Hell gets more of the AS2 community, especially modders.
@@rafaelsousa5 doesn't matter how shit mow2 is on launch. The mods and engine upgrades will make you buy it. They already have a few mod teams with access to the beta making their mods in parallel with the game itself. Don't really get these CoH comparisons either. I think the only thing that is even remotely similar to coh is how buildings function now.
@@deafidue5535 The whole game gives CoH 1 vibes, the UI, the visuals etc, sure it has still elements of Men of War, direct control and the armor system etc, but when I first played the first though that crossed my mind was "Kind of feels like playing Company of Heroes 1", there is more to similarities between games than just game mechanics, I also saw hints of what might be vehicle HP.

Speak for yourself, I ain't touching it when I already have GoH which delivered exactly what I was hoping for all these years, a vastly improved game with an actual campaign and effort put into it, besides that is assuming the modders even move to MoW2, which taking into account how barely have moved to GoH I doubt it.
@@deafidue5535 GoH and MoW Robz Mod exist. So I don't see any incentive for the veteran Men of Wars players buying it. If there were some graphical/technical advancement from its predecessors, I can see some of them buying it. But they didn't even do that. It looked dated as hell in 2023 for something that title "Men of War 2".

I was not expecting a GoH video, a surprise but a welcome one, this game needs more recognition, it has a lot of love put into it and it' a huge improvement over the Men of War series.
eh, its like robz realism baked into a game. I'm waiting for mow2 mods.
I dunno... I wouldn't mind giving it a try, but it looks like one of them RTS games that's very complicated (if not having to multitask a billion things at once) or PvP style of game. Maybe... the Steam page isn't very helpful either.

I mean the graphics and effects have been improved, but it doesn't carry any of the balance changes Robz, because if it did I would not touch it since I hated Robz mod, especially how it made infantry pointless, it still very much plays like vanilla AS2, besides mow2 plays like a different game, but hey to each their own.
@@MLPIceberg I would say the biggest obstacle would be some of the Men of War series jank it carries, like units sometimes not engaging properly and some glitches, and altough it's way less than it was with Assault Squad 2 they are still present nonetheless, but it's not exactly a very high micro game, units will generally engage each other fine, and at most you may need to micro or direct control one of 2 units sometimes to break a stalemate.
Unlike AS2 it also has a proper campaign this time so it is way more chill to play outside of PvP, not to mention conquest mode.

1. The Dual MGs. Early Panzer 3 models actually had double coax MGs! This was a feature that was removed, when the 37mm main gun was replaced by a 50mm gun in later (still early war) models. They needed the extra space in the turret for the bigger breech.
2. The 'hanging' armor, that's spaced armor, and on the Schwerer Panzerspähwagen that you see there, it was added after the French Campaign to help keep the crew alive.
3. The 'stubby barrel', that's an infantry gun. That name sounds misleading, but infantry guns are basically lightweight, infantry-mobile artillery pieces that could be pushed around, packed up into different pieces, and carried by the unit. As you might guess, this is also an 'early-war' thing, but they were used throughout the entire war.
4. A lot of self-propelled guns (or tank destroyers, AKA, anti-tank tanks) had open-top specifically for better visuals for the crew to spot targets, and other lesser reasons.
Made me super happy to see you playing this, Nano-bro. I grew up on Faces of War, the SUPER-EARLY precursor to this game and it's predecessor, Men of War. I even forced my GF to do MoW together when we started dating, I have really fond memories. Hope you liked the game, bro!
I also played Men of War when I was little, especially Assault Squad, part of my formation as gamer and many memories. When I saw this video the game looked really similar to MoW and I was curious to see what happened to the franchise and it looks like this is the successor. When I'll get a decent pc I think I'll play it.

Early panzer 3s had 3 MG34s but by 1942 it was changed to the J version removing the three and giving it 2
My dad has this mod and I've been playing it. I could not get past that mission with the aerosleds (the 4 skis that have the DT MG and a massive propeller on the back)
