Thanks for the guide. I played Nioh1 and now I'm 30 hours into Nioh 2. The game is fun but the systems and the abundance of loot and stats and weapon's special effects are overwhelming.

Just gonna repeat what everyone else says, but you do NOT need to worry about weapon stats for your first playthrough, or even your own stats. While the first run through is far from easy, it doesn't require that you reroll your equipment for maximum values and good stats or even have a proper build at all. Basically, just equip anything that has the highest attack/defense value and make sure to stay under 70% equip load. The stats are there when you need them for higher difficulties.
In case anyone needs a little help, Kasha's Hellfire Wheel has to be the best bang-for-your-buck Yokai ability in the game, even if it can be deflected and potentially miss because it bounces off walls. It has really high damage output for a anima cost of 7, and even comes with health regen on hit. Gives a reason to go back and farm the catgirl boss everyone loves, the flaming beyblade has carried me and many others far.

I tried sekiro, nioh 1 back when they came and i said"F...k this, i can not beat it" Tried sekiro again and pushed through barely (Ishin owes me a controller😆). beat sekiro again and this time i can beat ishin without getting hit. so i thought let;s do nioh next but instead of 1, i chose 2 and here i am taking tips knowing fully well that i will get my ass handed to me again. i think these types of vids will keep helping. NINJA GAIDEN 3 vids in 2020 helped me a lot to improve even after those years. bro, it is never too late. please do not discourage these pros from making such vids. we need them.
-Burst Counter can be used to cancel out of endlag, and even being winded. It's a lifesaver. If it's Brute, it's also extra damage! -Any Yokai ability that actively transforms you, like Ippon-Datara, makes you immune to grabs. In boss fights, this can mean the difference between life and death. -Scroll around the world map to find hidden spots that make the map cursor turn red. They give some historical tidbits, and free loot. -There is no shame in running away from a fight you can't win. -Use your stances. They matter a lot. -There's no need to be so hung up on builds on NG. Just learn the game, see what works for you.
I checked specifically because of this video my library on ps4 to see if I have nioh 2 and fortunately I do! It was propably free as a ps plus monthly game but I never put much attention into it. After watching this video I'l gladly play through the game🙏

This game is my “go back to game”. Still playing it after thousands of hours 😂 Little tip for the beginners to get used to changing stance and Ki Pulse. The actual button combinations for change stance (R1 + triangle/square/cross) can be treated as a Ki Pulse. So instead of just pressing R1, try combining it with the other prompts. This is literally hitting two birds with one stone. Your combat will be more fluid with this. For example, youre dealing damage from High stance. Ki pulsing to low stance will have you ready to dodge or mid stance to block. Why do this? Not only you get used to changing stance while Ki Pulsing, it’s also one of the core mechanics once you unlock Flux 1 and 2. This is a Ki Pulse skill that lets you regain more Ki when you Ki Pulse from one stance to another. For example, Ki Pulse from Low to Mid Stance activates Flux 1. Ki Pulse from Low to Mid to High activates Flux. You can easily do this by press and holding the R1 and then sliding your thumb to whatever button combinations you want. (Fyi, Flux 2 will not activate if you, for example, change from low to mid and then low again. It’s gotta be three unique combinations).

@@chidoriplays Nice one. With the cores, you basically feed the lower level core into the higher level core. It will eventually max out. And try and get the buffs that you're looking for whilst doing the merging. ✅

I started playing this after Wo Long and Im so fckn overwhelmed. Im trying not to be toxic or judge it too early but Im surprised so many people are talking about how much Wo Long disappointed them compared to Nioh 2 (which must be long time players of Nioh 2) bc I got into Wo Long and loved playing it non stop. Im already over this game. Had to finally look up a guide so I can try to keep playing it lol

Cool, cool. I have only played the 2nd one. I would like to play the 1st game one day. ✅ There is a lot of info to get your head around on Nioh 2 but once it clicks it becomes a lot smoother to play. 😁 👍
What I did was mainly level the stat that you want for the weapon use, and then put a bit into Ki and a bit into HP. You need Ki and HP to stay alive and fight. And if you can, I'd also recommend some Ninjutsu and some Onmyo magic too. They can help a lot.
I tried the game today, got smacked around by the giant goat monster and uninstalled. I cane here to see if what exactly the game is like with its mechanics because everyone praises the game so much and yeah I don't think I'll ever pick this game up again. It's definitely not for me and as someone who hates souls games, this was not fun either way

I'm not too sure about mouse and keyboard buttons. As I don't use a mouse and keyboard. Sorry. 🎯 I highly recommend buying an Xbox One controller with a usb cable for it, and plugging in the Xbox One controller to the Windows PC and playing Nioh 2 that way. 😁 👍

Ok so I have a noob question, I’m starting Nioh 2 in a day or two for the first time and I keep seeing people say to not worry about optimizing a build on your first play through and that’s hard for me to understand. If I know what two weapons I want to use and armor type, shouldn’t I level the stats that best optimize the weapon type and armor type that I’m using? I don’t see how spreading stats out all over the place benefit more than a specific build and the specific stats for the build
Yeah; that is fine to do; yes. I tend to put most stats into my HP and also the weapon stat that I intend to use. Which for me is the kusarigama. Definitely pop points into your weapon stat. But levelling any stat will usually add to your HP and Stamina. It's just that some stats add more to your HP and Stamina than other stats do.

@@Cheddar_96 I think that could be a good combo; yeah. I honestly haven't tried too much else other than the kusarigama. I pretty much just use that. I don't even use a secondary weapon. ✅ I think any weapon can be viable tbh. Just use what weapon or weapons you vibe with and enjoy the most. Plus you can always reset your stats with the reset item when ever you want to. 👍
@@Cheddar_96 I'm gonna be honest; I use it because I just love ninjas a lot. aha. So it goes very well with my ninja build. Using a lot of Ninjutsu along with the kusarigama and a little bit of Onmyo Magic. 😎

i dont know how to tell what stats cap should be, i wanna main fist weapon, if it scales with STR do i just max it out and leave other stats as 10 cap
What I did was mainly level the stat that you want for the weapon use, and then put a bit into Ki and a bit into HP.
You need Ki and HP to stay alive and fight. And if you can, I'd also recommend some Ninjutsu and some Onmyo magic too. They can help a lot.
Yeah. So if fists is STR then go for a lot of STR. I'm pretty sure it gains you a bit of HP and Ki as well as you level it up. (Level the STR).
This is a real fun game, although I’ve finished it, I still try to get max level

I tried the game today, got smacked around by the giant goat monster and uninstalled. I cane here to see if what exactly the game is like with its mechanics because everyone praises the game so much and yeah I don't think I'll ever pick this game up again. It's definitely not for me and as someone who hates souls games, this was not fun either way

I'm not too sure about mouse and keyboard buttons. As I don't use a mouse and keyboard. Sorry. 🎯 I highly recommend buying an Xbox One controller with a usb cable for it, and plugging in the Xbox One controller to the Windows PC and playing Nioh 2 that way. 😁 👍

Ok so I have a noob question, I’m starting Nioh 2 in a day or two for the first time and I keep seeing people say to not worry about optimizing a build on your first play through and that’s hard for me to understand. If I know what two weapons I want to use and armor type, shouldn’t I level the stats that best optimize the weapon type and armor type that I’m using? I don’t see how spreading stats out all over the place benefit more than a specific build and the specific stats for the build
Yeah; that is fine to do; yes. I tend to put most stats into my HP and also the weapon stat that I intend to use. Which for me is the kusarigama. Definitely pop points into your weapon stat. But levelling any stat will usually add to your HP and Stamina. It's just that some stats add more to your HP and Stamina than other stats do.

@@Cheddar_96 I think that could be a good combo; yeah. I honestly haven't tried too much else other than the kusarigama.
I pretty much just use that. I don't even use a secondary weapon. ✅
I think any weapon can be viable tbh. Just use what weapon or weapons you vibe with and enjoy the most.
Plus you can always reset your stats with the reset item when ever you want to. 👍

@@Cheddar_96 I'm gonna be honest; I use it because I just love ninjas a lot. aha. So it goes very well with my ninja build. Using a lot of Ninjutsu along with the kusarigama and a little bit of Onmyo Magic. 😎

This game has one of the stupidest mechanism in gaming history. Like why tf we need to click 10 fucking keys every time a swing of the weapon is initiated?? Doesnt make any sense whatsoever. Uninstalled after trying for hours to play this garbage.
Not a fan of Nioh 2? Fair play. Different gamers enjoy different games and that is totally OK.
