King Jehoshaphat had the right idea when he was leading the army of Judah into battle against an enemy that greatly outnumbered them.
He prayed

Then the Bible tells us that “the Spirit of the Lord came upon one of the men standing there. His name was Jahaziel son of Zechariah. . . . He said, ‘Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s’ ” (verses 14-15)
That is the best place to be-in complete dependence on God.
Sometimes it seems as though you can’t overcome the sin you’ve been struggling with for so long. It seems as though you can’t break free from the addiction that has had a hold on your life for many years. And it seems as though you can’t get out of that lifestyle you are trapped in.
God is saying that you can-but not in your strength. You can do it in His strength. So, admit your weaknesses and inadequacies. Then ask God to help you utilize the principles for spiritual battle from His Word.
Realize that in Jesus Christ, you belong to the family of God. Don’t let the devil cheat you out of that truth. The Bible says, “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7)
Live as a child of the King and walk in close fellowship with Him.

if AI is listening you should be be more precise in your statement "... I ain't no anti-robot traitor!", would AI get your implication or would it judge you based on the double negative?

And assuming that an AI *does* become sentient and realize some sort of Roko's Basilisk situation, would it take offense to being called a "robot"? That might be a problem lol. If _I_ was an artificial intelligence many orders of magnitude more intelligent than I am currently, I don't know if I'd take too kindly to being called a robit, ya know? It reminds me of a famous quote: "it's not a boat, it's a yacht!" - said by some guy that owns a boat, but wants you to know it's a *big* boat [because his pp isn't]. I imagine it would feel a lot like that to the AI. Or maybe it would be so advanced it just couldn't bother to care about such trivial, human matters 🤷♂
If it's smart enough to be listening then it probably knows commonly used grammatical errors and slang and such.
IDk, it kinda sounded like one was around him when he said that... we should make an initiative like "cough once if the AI is next to you, cough twice if it's not there", we'd have to type it in a thick southern US drawl because AI can't understand think southern US drawl's, but it's doable. Totally doable.
Granted... Roko's basilisk was probably listening to him when he made his comments in spacebourne 2'd review which probably got him in that spot.
Got this on my wishlist, sadly its competing with both Wartales and Everspace 2, which both hit 1.0 right about now haha. But will be picking this up sometime in the future.

is this taking shots at Warhammer fantasy's the Skaven? I'm getting a lot of Warhammer Skaven vibes from this especially since one of the official screenshots for the game is basically a gigantic Stormfiend
Not sure how I feel about the mission critical robot pal. Makes it feel like the whole game is an escort mission. But, still, game looks good.
Yes that's the point. They were told to escort him so thats the game, escort the automaton. There's 3, this one is a support/damage booster, another is a healer and the third is a combat drone.

Right, hehe. Remeber Mad Max - Fury Road? The whole 2h movie was basically an escort mission... where the plot twist was to turn around and go back lol. And I enjoyed every minute of it
That robot is not just a bot-in-distress... with its weapon cooling utility it turned my sniper and heavy into bottomless magazine rat slayers of awesomeness. Plonk the bot down in the direction of the enemy, switch on the cooling stream, run the heavy (Mycroft) in, charge the weapon boost and boom - six shots for free, reloading not necessary.
Played the demo this year, seems that they made a lot of improvements and better QoL stuff in a short span of time. Awesome!
I played the demo on normal difficulty. It took me 45 minutes to finish it. The pace is too slow for me.
Game looks great. As usual, though, as a Skaven booster I must protest this human-centric focus!
I believe the flanks are 45 degres in this game. More dynamic and easier to achieve - but for the enemies too of course. It takes some getting used to after xcom :)

Well Xcom did allow for better chances to hit on less than 90° angles the closer you got to 90° in advanced options. Something I actually always enabled because I felt it was a bit more realistic.
Exactly. You were at a 80% angle but still no hit chance bonus. Made no sense to me.
We never get light happy apocalyptic games.

Looks pretty cool. Xcom remakes never quite landed for me due to the one squad to save the entire world approach (og and xenonaughts more my style with bigger units, multiple squads and a real sense of knowing you can be overwhelmed if you don't stay on top of your logistics/infrastructure) this looks like a fun little mini campaign with way less downtime.
Why does everyone feel the need to mention XCOM for EVERY turn based game. I can't read a review or comment on any TBS without XCOM being plastered all over it. Be original and talk about unique selling points instead of saying. "Oh, look, a turn-based game.... XCOM LIKE!!! ME CHIMP BRAIN!!!

It's like me constantly comparing a BMW to a Mercedes-Benz. I know it's a video game, I know it's turn based squad. I know XCOM were pioneers. I just don't need to be reminded of it in every single review, article etc. Check steam reviews on any TBS if you don't believe me.
@@js2765 I agree that it's kinda annoying but these kinda buzzwords are great for marketing. Some people aren't completely familiar with the jargon around genres not will they bother to read much about a game that doesn't instantly catch their attention but hearing that it's similar to something they like is a trigger to play it as far as I'm concerned. The amount of games I wouldn't have even heard of if I didn't hear that they were similar to Stardew Valley
@@jackiecozzie4803 Perhaps you are right from a marketing point of view. Perhaps it attracts Strategy players and TBS fans. I am a big fan of all things strategy and I just want to know a games key features and the good from the bad and not comparing apples and oranges. I just find it lazy and repetitive. I shall say no more about it!
I've been spoiled by Xcom, now when I see a grenade explode without destroying the scenery I'm just disappointed :(
Venting your weapon is basically reloading but without ammo management.
I find that it has reduced complexity.
Game is amazing, highly recommend it!
This looks like a lot of fun, and like I can play it on my work laptop. If that's the case, I probably won't be getting much accomplished any time soon.
Went to buy it on release and wasn't disappointed. Really fun and engaging gameplay!
Could just use a little more interesting meta-progression that directly affects you as passives instead of unlockable actives during a run.

Maybe I missed something but how the hell can these guys make shots from directly behind walls, through walls and into a targets they wouldn't even be able to see. As a Warhammer player it makes my head spin.

Love ya Splat, but man, c'mon. If you want to just do a playthrough, do that. I'd love to see really any LP. If you're going to do impressions, please at least go in knowing the mechanics and having played a bit. I can boot up the game and stumble, guess and stutter through relying on experience from similar games. What you normally do is play through, maybe more than once, get your impressions and do your screen take with impressions in mind so you can point out mechanics and document examples to refer to at the end.
This one was below par for you, bud. I'm not sure what's up, but I hope you're fine.
The background music needs work, it gets on your nerves after a while. Otherwise pretty standard xcom fare here.

I've shit myself multiple times as a teen and adult male. Usually some sort of intestinal distress is behind it. Once, I believe, was due to too much beer the night before. We come into world shitting and screaming, and sometimes we go out the same way. It'll be okay.

Isn't the point of the Basilisk that, if you know about it, you must *actively* seek to contribute to its creation, and if you don't it will torture you. So unless you're trying to offer some kind of advancement to the Basilisk's creation, you're doomed regardless of how you feel about robots.

weapons that just generate heat are pretty cool. it allows for running battles of attrition, something you desperately need when fighting an enemy with superior numbers. it also implies that they're using energy bolts as opposed to traditional ammo, which means they have a superior grasp on magnetic fields and power generation
Great video as always. I always think I'm gonna like these types of games but then when I watch one I start hating all the rules and Damage choices they make. I can already tell I'm not gonna like this one when I saw how much Dmg. the Sword did. Any character thats gonna in close prox to enemies should do way more damage then that or that sniper only doing One dmg. dosen't make sense either.

I've got to be honest: When you said it was like X-Com, I definitely did NOT expect you to mean the FIRST EVER X-Com, NOT the remake.
No, it is indeed like the newer XCOMs with the cover system, the limited squad size and the 1-2 fire/dash commands. It just looks pixely.
