My middle school days man those were the days when I could grind pvp for 10 hours a day I miss that😂
If you value your mental health, do not play this game.
I just wish that players who only play for a few days a week could be in the same spot or be able to compete with the people who play non-stop. The game pretty much requires you to do these hour+ long raids and grind GMs to be able to consider yourself as an OK player. And if a player wanted to do a GM with a community, most groups on bungie requires you to have certain titles.
It seems that if you take a break from the game for even a month you've now missed out on whats the new "meta". Now you missed the "best weapon ever" that everyone spent hours grinding.
I guess in conclusion I just wish that, since im in school, I can be able to enjoy the game with being able to only hop on as often as I do but it just takes up so much time and it's a huge commitment (however I think bungie did a great job in the game and I do appreciate how there's always something to do and the game is very intricate). Back when I was able to play I did really enjoy it and there's great memories. (In game purchases are a whole 'nother thing 😂)

Been playing since ‘dark below’ and I ended up persuading a buddy of mine to get destiny 2 and I’ve never felt more guilt in my life due to the sheer amount of money he had to spend just so he could do the various raids and dungeons as well as the other subclasses tied to beyond Light and light fall. He’s enjoying himself and he says that he doesn’t mind, but I truly feel like a dogshit friend.
This.... This right here, like why tf is it so pricey to get in on this shit, just sell a bundle of all previous DLC for like 50 bucks and make it packaged with the newest expansion for like 100$. Game shouldn't cost 300$ just to have all the story

@@Robert-pt2jz when you think about it $80 for 8 hours of dialogue, raids, duungeons stories and character design is worth it , times that by 3 for titan, wwarlock and hunter.And dont forget the grrind for the titles and strand build which can take hundreds of hours and also times that by 3 for 3 characters

There is still "sunsetting" in the way that some guns are in rotation and only obtainable in certain seasons due to that rotation (grandmaster/trials weapons)

Honestly, its an unpopular opinion, but as a casual player who just hops on destiny 2 to switch my brain off and kill some aliens, the time-limited availability of some weapons makes the world seem like its alive, and moving forward, just like irl. Its more appealing this way in my opinion.

I'm an OG in a sense. In destiny 1 I use to teach people to run Hard mode raids. From Vault all the way to Wrath of the Machine. In Destiny 2 I played daily all through the original 3 raids and Forsaken. But unfortunately by the time Last Wish dropped my whole crew didn't want to play anymore. I'm behind on the raids from Last Wish onward and I can never get people to play raids with me because I don't already know them. It's sad because I love this game. But when it comes to Dungeons and Raids, I get left out. I still stay up to date on the story though thanks to My Name is Byf
this is oddly exactly what i went through. exact dlc i stopped at aswell and same shit happened with my buddies. and i really do miss the game but yea no one really likes playing or teaching raids anymore

See they should bring back a lot of guns but they did SUNSETTING for a reason and that was because of pinnacle weapons being too strong I.e mountaintop recluse wendigo with its og explo light revoker and revoker is bad enough that they nerfed it again recently cus of comp

If you just want to play for the fun of shooting with some light “guidance”, it’s fun. If you’re chasing stats, red border weapons, etc., it’s hell.
“No sun setting” is half incorrect. Just a few days ago they deleted a years worth of seasonal content from the game. All the missions and story and dialogue gone. Some missions repurposed but most are deleted.
“They like to make mistakes” or they got enough shit from the community to backtrack

A misconception going around is that sunsetted gear isn't gonna be sunset anymore. It still is. It's just that now, no new guns will be sunset.

I recommend just don’t play the game the story makes no sense no matter how you put it. Destiny has the WORST campaign in any game ever. Shrek Forever After has a better campaign.

When they fix the crucible, release years old DLC for free to new and old players, have dedicated teams for PVP, and fix their servers and net coding, then there will be a reason to be a concurrent player, instead of occasionally hopping on to see what’s changed

@TheAntiFurry6000no this part is misleading, they cancelled FUTURE expansion sunsetting. All the old activities and destinations before beyond light’s release will remain vaulted... Witch queen along with the next 2 expansions will remain in the game permanently excluding seasonal content.

I KNOW FOR A FACT, that i will NOT do the "Grind", ever again. It got old after 8 years of it. It's repetitive and basically you start over every season doing the same shit = monotonous rehashing. Yes i did have fun, especially with The Taken King (my fave) but the concept of leveling up characters became too convoluted for me. I don't want to spend hours on end trying to figure out what to put on my character and not even play the game. Then when you can finally figure out what you need for the build on a character you have to go out and GRIND for it over and over and over again. = BORING after awhile. It definitely became NOT WORTH MY TIME.
I completed all the up to forsaken anyways so wasnt fussed. Now theyve added it back in and now ive ot prompts to recomplete it all, being a completionist this winds me up

At the moment, destiny 2 with the 2023 legacy pack is free. That includes beyond light, witch queen and shadowkeep. Get it while you can but dont tryhard the game or youll have to spend much more.

As someone who played solo so I couldn't raid and I don't like pvp theirs jus not enough to do. Only so many strikes I can do until I'm over it
Dungeons. Also why not raid it’s not hard to lfg. I would suggest trying vog and Ron first because they’re quite easy
Nope haven't had fun in D2 as much as I did in D1, did every raid in D1, missed out on a lot of raid in D2, the whole Idea of clans is stupid, when the clan leader ignores people in the clan and pulls people from LFG, or raids only with the same people over and over and leaves the rest of the clan hangin. Can take it or leave it.
I finally decided to come back. Playing thru Beyond Light with my main (just started last week). I guess my life is now in the hands of Destiny 🥲

@@GingerPrimeGaming 🤣🤣🤣 fair point.. But, I put in 2k hours from the time I started to the time I dropped the game. And I came in with Shadowkeep, and quit when BL launched.. So I think I'm predisposed to sticking with this game cos I genuinely enjoy the gameplay. Hell I even loved Gambit 🤣
The trick was that chest with all the 1540 gear. Cos once the power grind was eliminated (for now) the game became MUCH easier to jump back into.
I just haven't touched PvP yet cos I value my joy in life. I sucked back then, and now with all these new metas, I'll suck even more now 😭🤣

Playing destiny 2 now after having it for a while. Mate got me the witcher . Currently playing it. Love the smoooooth playstyle of the shooting. Stressed from other games i tent to put my music on. Blast the tunes and blast some heads of shoulders. Good stress releiver tbh... go nuts 🤪. Game is a solid 9/10 just need to stop getting too smoked up so i can concentrate on the story more haha

Unless you are a f2p player it is NOT worth it. I paid for forsaken, warmind and curse of Osiris just to loose them a few years later. Hell i evenpaid for the red war and that's completely gone. Also if you play by console and don't have a premium subscription you can't play crucible, vanguard ops, gambit etc. If you are willing to pay 70-100 bucks a year for new content suit yourself. You'll have a great time completing new quests, campaigns , raids etc.
You mean tdm/dm game modes etc are not available on PS5 unless you pay the multiplayer PSN fee? If yes, I'm uninstalling. That's so lame.
As a long time player, I’ve actively discouraged people from playing it ever since beyond light. The new and returning player experience is extremely unfriendly and I don’t want someone to go through the pain of spending loads of money and not knowing what the hell is going on. Just wait for this next expansion to be over or heck, a new game even.
, if you’ve left or are new, try destiny 2. It’s awesome. It only gets bad if you’ve been playing it for what you would call forever. Even then that’s subjective. I say it’s worth it for anyone. But hey need to place all previous dlc that still exists into one pack. As an option.

yes they are getting rid of sunsetting. But they are not gonna simply take out the stuff within the DCV (Destiny Content Vault) instead they will have the player pay for it again.

Every new season they create in destiny 2 they lock the story behind a paywall. It's understandable to do that for big DLC packages but not for the seasons especially since the story in that season is gone when the latest season appears.

How much do I need to consistantly pay? So I heard you have to pay for dungeons, some strikes are only obtainable through paying for season passes and do I also have to pay with my soul because it'll most likely take away all my time because bungie dont like to be nice to new players, right?
Also how much exactly comes with the Witch Queen or do I actually need to purchase the season pass with the Witch Queen to get a full experience because there's a lack of content in the "large" expansion by itself.
P.s dont take my distaste for bungie personally I want to play their game, I religiously played D1, I just dont wanna get fucked in the ass by them again 😊

Free is fun but very limited. The real meat of the game is in its expansions
Most of the activities are dlc, so if you plan on staying a free to play it it feels like your barely getting any content especially with that taxing amount of GB it takes up. With that being said just downloading it to try with a few friends is never a bad idea

Destiny 2 was fun when it initially came out. You actually had to go through the main campaign to level up, max out, and ultimately reach the endgame. Now there's literally no reason to play unless you buy the Battle Pass.

Its not worth it. I enjoyed destiny with friends in the past. But Destiny is designed to keep you playing more Destiny. Plus there many fulfilling things to do with your friends in person. If you have strictly online friends you still have a lot of options. One of my Destiny friends and I will alternate streaming games to each other. Lately he's been streaming Subnautica while we chat. I've been streaming Baba Is You and we'll solve the puzzles together. Watching him play Subnautica has helped me to step outside of myself and to appreciate him and what he enjoys, even if its not for me. Baba is you has shown the two of us that we both think and solve problems quite differently, which has helped us grow as friends and blast through the game. My two cents, consider trying different activities with you friends. Because if they are your friends they are there to be with you, as you should be for them.

I would say no I came back for witch queen and missed the 2 expansions before that then bought light expansions. If you have a group to play with sure. If you mostly solo stay away. It's not worth the time. I feel they made it bullet spongy hard and enimes hit you like a semi. So if that's what you like be my guest I feel I wasted my money especially with the light expansion.
I stopped at destiny, trials of osiris was pretty much what kept me playing at the time and its just not the same. Had to put it down.
