It has been super fun and rich. Hopefully we can enjoy more good times on Pretendo, but, even if not, it has been a true delight.
This feels like finishing a really good book or movie. You know it's somehow over, but the world it played in was beloved and you don't want it to end, but you also feel like it's a fitting end regardless. Weird but beautiful. All we can say is, Thank you so so much Ryukahr, for all those hours, days, weeks, months, even years of entertainment! & o7 for all those Mario's that passed.
Pretendo Network has done a lot of work to back up the levels for Mario Maker. Not quite sure how it works, but Ryus 100-life Super Expert runs may not be dead yet
100 man doesn't work on pretendo yet. Also they have not the database of user levels. You would have to upload new levels for pretendo or reupload old ones again. You cannot have just the list of levels "back" 😢
@overlordalfredo, that’s unfortunate. Although, we have seen Ryu do “100-man” on SMM2, it seems like a hassle for him to make and keep track of. Here’s to hoping 100-man gets added there soon

One after course uploads were turned off and another from earlier that has some levels which were since deleted. They are investigating merging these two archives along with merging into the existing pretendo database of levels. I kind of suspect they're not in a rush because they don't want to make too much noise for Nintendo to notice when these archives are restored.
@@Rob_Enhoud that would be good, if they have somehow a dump from the levels, but still you would need also the functionality to play them again. Currently pretendo website shows that Mario Maker 1, both WiiU and 3DS are not fully playable and the main feature missing is playing random levels from course world. Which means 100 man for WiiU. And without the old accounts backed up as well you could not find/play these levels other than inputting every Level ID. And I don't know if that feature works already or of it causes trouble with pretendo levels if IDs exist twice.... It is definitely something that is not happening in a matter of days, sadly :(

What a day - a total eclipse, and the shutdown of the game that kickstarted many careers of those creators who are still active even now. A bit of a solemn thought, that it's gone - but happy at what it's brought. GG Ryu - nice send off with a crazy run. I went back and played a bit myself for the nostalgia, sad no more 100 man and left with the lackluster SMM2.

I ended up here from the algorithm. Before you, I was dismissive of watching other people play video games, but watching you got me to watch others like pzyko103, Panga, Raysfire and others. Thank you for the years of taking out the hot garbage! And, yes, the eclipse was amazing! If you ever get a chance to see totality, download an eclipse timer for it. It's an incredible experience and it's so much better if you know what to look for and when. I do emphasize totality, though. Like Randall Munroe put it, "A partial eclipse is like a cool sunset. A total eclipse is like someone broke the sky."
Ive been watching ryu for years and, to this day, I never knew if he was playing 1 or 2 lol. Could never tell the difference. Just enjoyed the content.

For me, I was really lucky that there was a slight overcast with thin, translucent clouds, because I was able to look directly at the solar eclipse. I saw the sun as a crescent mostly and it was beautiful

Maybe Pretendo could be the solution to allow people to get Mario Maker up and running again. From what I heard, the project is coming along well.
you can play mario maker with the smmserver program. You can only do the 100 mario challenge..you cannot browse any levels.
Pretty sure they’ve backed up all the user made levels
