  • Steve has gone over several of the different useful tarps we carry here at Tent and Table. But what happens if an unfortunate snag or tear against a jagged unseen rock were to happen. Thankfully, we here and Tent and Table come prepared for every possibility, with our Tarp Repair Tape.
    Product Overview:
Torn and ripped tarps are a common nuisance, no matter what the job might be. Why replace your whole tarp when it only has a small tear? Try our new Tarp Repair Tape and extend the life of your tarp covers! This repair tape is great for repairing holes, rips, and tears in poly tarps of all kinds. You can even create or improve upon a waterproof seam or give the stress points a little extra reinforcement for some preventative and proactive maintenance. Medium to hot iron press shopping plastic bags to fuse it on the tarp will be much cheaper. Caution: use newspapers or parchment papers to avoid plastic melted and stick on to the hot iron strongly. Usually, if the iron is not extremely hot, newspaper won't stick hardly onto the bag plastic.

Watching this video 3 years after. But hopefully you can answer my question. Will it hold tension if I use it for tent?

Brand new tarp maybe 6- 9 mil thickness. Just tore because I used it for cover on dog kennel. The water collected on it and the weight of water several gallons was too much. It’s got sharp edges the kennel it’s made of chain link panels really.

How would this work for a tarp storage shed? The tear is on the seam where the tarp angles from the a-framed roof to the wall. Would the tape hold over that angle transition? Does this question give you the picture?

Would this work on mesh tarps?

Yeah. You'd just unfortunately have a solid patch on the mesh now. But you could use it to fix the tear if you preferred that over buying a new tarp.

Not exactly high level this one...
Degreasing a glue surface is rather pointless if you intent to thoroughly rub & massage your finger skin fats right back on it. Acetone is a better degreaser for poly/glue, it is stronger as solvent and has a faster flash point. Rounding the corners of any fabric´s patchings, will make the patch way less prone to failing due to sharp, sensitive corners. Starting any patch from either one of the sides or middle in glue case, work it gradually outwards/through, will prevent airbubbles getting stuck and make less curles between the sheets.
