     @ShivaSapkota I know the Tesstudio provides the firmware updates as files to install via SD card....but does this display support OTA updates? I know most YTbers don't highlight the OTA upgrade function which can be enabled by doing the following
    1. Disabling the bluetooth connection between your phone and the display unit.
    2. Setting your phone hotspot to SSID = car, with password = 12345678 and then pressing the OTA upgrade button to download the latest OTA update.
    I assume you have not tried this functionality before to check for firmware updates?

    • @ShivaSapkota
      @ShivaSapkota  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I saw that but I don't trust them to provide OTA update. For that to work, they need a designated server to house those updates where everyone attempting to upgrade can access the source at all times. I have asked all of them and no one ever said they had such setup. Everyone said, it will allow future OTA upgrade but then send me a google drive link. So, even though the concept is there, the execution is not. Thanks.

      @@ShivaSapkota I agree on your recommendations with the "READY" sign on the bottom right corner being useless and only appearing when the car is in Drive mode. They can easily get rid of that and post the distance in miles instead next to the battery. They can move the temperature to the right side next to the time.
      Have you submitted this feedback to TESStudio for consideration on firmware updates?

    How is this better than the Hannshow F9? The F9 seems more minimalistic to me and looks more OEM, but has very similar functionality. This kinda looks like it was stuck on there (Just my opinion). Is the air flow better than on the F9?

    • @erichchan3

      Well I think the top air vent is better than the lower air vent just given how the panel slants down of where you mount it. @stillirise85O Thanks for pointing that out. If it can control the recline, then it should also be able to move the seat forward/backward; if not, hopefully an update will. What does it do to your new car warranty? When you use obds and make slits and stuff?

    • @mincooper
      @mincooper 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Warranty is impacted by anything that may be related and Tesla service centers usually interpret this very widely. Obviously if you install this and you notice a suspension noise, Tesla will not void your warranty as this would be entirely unrelated. However, if anything goes wrong with an item controlled by the electronics (ie, most things on this car) Tesla can deny warranty even though common sense may tell you that it can't be related to this aftermarket add-on. It then begins a debate between customer and Tesla on whether the item is related which is not a fun argument to have to make. For example, I had an issue with the side repeater camera and they initially denied warranty because of aftermarket electronics (screen) and after a lot of back and forth they agreed to warranty my side repeater camera if I disconnected by screen and power frunk/trunk kits. All electronic modifications can affect warranty and in the end it's the service center that gets to decide. If you are aware of this and willing to accept that risk, then these add-ons could be great.

    Good review, much better looking product. It would be awkward to make the unit follow the curved line of the dash cap, as that would cause the screen to not be perpendicular to the driver. My main concerns are the "leather" covering (which doesn't match anything else on the dash) and the shiny black plastic flanking the glass display screen. Would prefer the glass to fill the area. Curious if the power and ground plugs from my Hansshow unit would be compatible with this unit as the connectors look the same, but no big deal if they aren't compatible. Will give them a little more time to perfect deficiencies as I'm pretty happy with my 10.25" 4G Hansshow still (and it matches my center display screen very nicely in appearance).

My ocd couldn’t cope with that! Why have a stitched, fake leather trim? It doesn’t match the design of the car. Also no RHD version. No thanks.

    I don't think we need Tesla information while driving. All we need is camera with wifi, speed , map and Android auto/CarPlay. The destructive installation just kills warranty.

      I use my MY for road trips and find the energy screen info valuable, but it takes up the whole screen and I want to be able to see the nav map so I dont miss a turn or exit. I dont need the whole energy screen, just some of it, so a display where the energy or nav can be displayed no matter what is on the main screen would be useful to me.

      @manishrantube How is this device "killing" warranty. You are not modifying any Tesla signals but rather just passing through the data between the main display and the cluster display.

    • @manishrantube
      @manishrantube 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@erichchan3 it kills warranty with any electrical modification done to parts. If the modification route controls feature A and that feature fails, recovery won't be covered by Tesla. That's the first thing I confirmed with Tesla after buying the car. Let's say you have changed the screen to swivel mount. Any problem with screen signals are not covered.

      @@manishrantube not the case here so I'm not sure what you are saying. It's not modifying any signals and the power supplied is not being affected. Certainly no need to buy the display if u are this scared

    I don’t think this one looks nice, it gives off a cheap product vibe. I think because of the amount of visible plastic and it not matching the rest of the panel.

      I find tesstudios customer service poor since I got the r86 rear screen on your recommendation. It has been nothing but issues. Won’t hold the time the Bluetooth keeps connecting at random. The theme switcher has ceased to function. The hvac control is all a mess when you press auto it starts freaking out the vents and off and on off and on .. have asked tesstudios for a software update or firmware or any help to my 300$ purchase and have received nothing. So until you can ask them how they plan to support their products I won’t buy anymore. I’ve had more luck when han(sht)show brand but it is also pretty lousy.

    It's another piece of garbage! It's not a full dash replacement so it looks stuck on. It gives you nothing useful that you can't get on the Tesla screen except for having range and battery % at same time. I have the F9 and it garbage by the same designers. Worse purchase I have ever made. The white color of the screen background is not even a close match to the Tesla screen and just looks awful. Lane does not curve when the road does on the display, nor curve when you turn the wheel wll. to show where you are in it, lane on screen does not curve as you do realistically, no blind spot camera view or anything useful, just same garbage. Do they Really listen to your feedback, well lets just say in a roundabout way, they listen and make a new model every time with one new feature and one new guy feature. You can have tire pressure constant display on your Tesla screen at the bottom.But do they do thing you have been harping on? Has even one of these units been able to get any new feature through OTA? NO! One unit was able to get a fix by OTA, every other unit you have to download sandpit on a flash drive for fixes or for features they advertised that were not present at shipping. They NEVER ADDED NEW FEATURES (UPGRADES) like a real Tesla gets all the time. They will try to sell a new model instead 6-8 weeks later. STOP Buying these until they actually come out with something useful. Why do I need a graphic of the car in park with exactly duplicates what is less than 10" to the right of it on the TESLA Screen? Why not really create something useful instead,:
    1/ when car is charging, show charging stats, how long to 80%, how to long to full charge, current charge rate,. Even when car is in park it's nice to know that.... Efficiency n last drive. Really it's not hard to think of things not already sitting right on the screen next to you. DO NOT BUY THIS

      Any 3rd party product is "stuck on" as you call it. You can't expect the same level of continuity between the Tesla display and this 3rd party display. I think your nits are pretty TBH because some of the complaints like the blind spot warning...like how can you expect something different than what Tesla since they are just tapping on the OBD port in order to retrieve the information. They are replicating the same red light blind spot warning light that Tesla does on its signal turns. You are not going to get the warning sign on your side mirrors if that is what you were expecting. I think your expectations for any 3rd party display are unrealistic. The white background...petty.
      I do agree with you on the lane screen curve not visible on UI1 but the lane curve does exist on UI2. Also stop referring to the Tesla screen as the holy grail. We get it...the point of having a front dash display is to not look to the side of the screen while driving and looking forward. On top of that...this display does something useful with the front camera bumper display available which Tesla cannot do on its own since it does not provide it and finally it provides Android Auto/Apple Carplay that Tesla does not support. Clearly you do not understand why anyone would buy a 3rd party display. I can care less about the charging stats for the front dash display while charging since I am not in my car to view it anyways unless I am on a road trip. I care more about what I can see while driving.

      @@erichchan3 Well I agree with you about the 1 useful thing it does is the front bumper cam, but that is it. The fact that they keep punching out the same thing in new version with one additional change is just terrible, The whole idea of having a Tesla is to have something elegant looking, that will keep getting better with OTA updates, NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THESE HAVE GOTTEN BETER! And as far as my expectations , they are fine and set high by not only Tesla, but by truly good vendors such as Teslogic or the S3XY knob people. At least they keep updating theirs instead of just trying to push new crappy versions each month. Look at how many functions and addition things the S3xy knob people have been able to get out of the ODBC port. So sorry, I can't except that as excuse for why they can't put something useful on the screen.
      TBH, I have the F9 display and I have taken it out. When I look forward at the windshield, if I m even looking at all towards the center of the windshield I can clearly see the speed on left corner of Tesla screen which is within 2" of the side of this screen. It's not elegant looking, and offers noting additional. I can clearly see the speed, and max speed, in the upper left corner of the Tesla screen, not to mention the tire pressure in the lower left. In addition most people with a Tesla constantly do glance over to the center, for the navigation, Autopilot displays and other things. I have four that while originally I hated not having a 2nd display in front of me, after 4 month using the Tesla without it, and then adding the F(, it makes the dash feel more cluttered and it loses the what I now appreciate as the minimalist look. (I also have a yoke and getting the Yoke for my model Y just made if feel so opens nd not with the F9 it looses that feel).
