On Aug 20, 2021, the Port of Long Beach celebrated the completion of the Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT) at Middle Harbor. Equipped with nearly all electric and zero-emissions equipment, LBCT at Middle Harbor is designed to strengthen competitiveness, improve cargo flow, and dramatically enhance air quality amid an era of significant growth at the nation’s second-busiest seaport.
The terminal has expanded to 300 acres, including the creation of 50 acres of new land as two slips were filled in. LBCT can now handle 3.3 million TEUs annually while being the greenest terminal in the United States.
The Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT) is an industry leader of innovation and technology. They continue to focus on increasing efficiency and protecting the environment while striving to enhance the customer service experience. LBCT is a long-term partner with OOCL and is also home to OOCL’s core loops - Pacific Vietnam China South (PVCS) and Pacific China Central 1 (PCC1).
