    1689 LCBF Chapter 5 Section 1
    God the good Creator of all things, in his infinite power, and wisdom, doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all Creatures, and things,[1] from the greatest even to the least,[2] by his most wise and holy providence, to the end for the which they were Created; according unto his infallible foreknowledge, and the free and immutable Counsel of his own will; to the praise of the glory of his wisdom, power, justice, infinite goodness and mercy.[3]

    I enjoyed this, however, you're only posing two possible positions on God, a butter finger God or a deterministic controlling all things God. What about the God that can do all things, can control all things but doesn't at all times, what about the God that gives a level of autonomy to his creatures. God can only be guilty of child rape only by means of not doing something about a situation that HE could stop. Therefore, he is NOT the means of evil but instead allows it for the sake of the level of autonomy and responsibility he has given us, and thereby not wanting to to violate this liberty. God can intervene at any point and does in a lot of cases, but the view of God you are presenting completely shoulders the responsibility of all evil.

      My friend, he answered your objections in this message. Perhaps you should watch it again.
      There is only one way in which God exists. The I AM. He is completely and perfectly Sovereign in all things. We will never fully understand how "big" He is, but I'm assured that I could never think of Him in too big of a way.
      All His creatures have wills tied to there nature in which they were created, yet no will is autonomous and beyond His control. Rather all wills are subject to Him, for He is THE creator of all things. Evil exists because He willed it to exist. Remember, Jesus was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world. Therefore the greatest story of the world must revolve around the redemption of it, displaying the greatest love amongst the backdrop of the greatest evil, the murder of the only sinless being, God Himself.

      Where does scripture teach that God is soo concerned with human autonomy that He allows bad things to happen in order to respect this autonomy? It's just man centered teachings of philosophers.

      @@toddcote4904 isn’t it evil to want evil to exist? Would it be sinful for me to wish you cheated on your wife? Do earthquakes and rapes have the same value? I’ve read in the Bible that God caused people to be born mute or blind but I’ve never read that God caused a gay couple to adopt children and then raped them for years. There’s no sin in having cancer but there is sin in being a rapist.

      What's your definition of evil?

    • @danamo5601
      @danamo5601 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is a calamity a sin? Is having cancer or being blind or mute a sin? Is being a liar a sin or an adulterer? When God takes someone’s life just because he can does he commit a sin? When I take someone’s life just because I can do I commit a sin? Is Covid a sin or a calamity? If someone dies off Covid is there sin in that? If someone dies of murder is there sin involved in it? I’m having a hard time stomaching some of the arguments. I just can’t believe ( at least at this point) that God sits in heaven ordaining my sins just to prove that he’s in control. I think I’m pretty good at sinning on my own, as we all are. If anything he needs to restrain us.

    Did God ordain that an idiot would rob me and cause me to lose my retirement income and financial freedom? I am NOT Thankful for that! I thought satan steals and destroys. So God does too??? Bogus...you make every sermon Calvinist because you read YOUR beliefs into every text

      God restrains evil. Let me give you an example of how this works. You (rightly) interpret that the thief did you wrong. Well, what you DIDN’T see (and frankly what the thief didn’t realize he was doing) was done in broad daylight where a guy just overflowing with money saw it all go down. He comes over afterwards and gives you, without realizing it, approximately double what was stolen from you. It wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t been robbed then and there, which is exactly when and where God loosened the restraints on that chump of a thief who robbed you. You think this is silly? It happens frequently in scripture and in the present day. Sometimes the way to blessing is THROUGH adversity and hard providence. Remember, Job did not simply get back all he had lost after going through that adversity and chaos. He got DOUBLE of everything. Which means if you can do basic math, he ended off ultimately better for it. And in ways he could probably not even imagine. He probably didn’t expect to end up in scripture. Or, if you take the position Job was a story by Solomon, I doubt Solomon expected Job to end up in scripture. So not only did Job get a scoop of what he lost, he got a second scoop he didn’t have originally. God uses hard providence for a number of things, motivation, toughening up, chastisement and correction, etc. The problem we encounter is not the end of the thing. It is not a question of to have a problem or not. The question is where does the problem go? Where does it lead? What does it result in? Where could it go? We work in the moment we are in and we trust God for the rest. And we have much reason to trust him. He has a proven track record.
