What do you do when you have put the other person first and they take and take and take and take and don't have the same heart to care for or protect or love you back?
It's a balance of justice and grace. Sin needs to be dealt with, but your approach is reactionary based on the pride or humility in the other person. Are they prideful? Jesus responded crassly... "you white washed tombs", but humbly, like the woman caught in adultery.... "go and sin no more". In both cases Jesus DEALT win the sin and sinner. Hope this helps
You have to stop putting that person first and reorder things by putting God first. If you do that, you will start to relate in a more healthy way-you will have boundaries and will be able to get filled up by God (the love that only only He can consistently give). You will also start to either see your husband respond in kind (treat you biblically, which we would describe as "better") or you will start to see that he has a hardened heart. Then, you can know if your marriage is dead. If he has abandoned God and abandoned you. (You can ask your pastor to help you apply the instructions in Matthew to see if reconciliation is possible). Im speaking from experience -i put my husband/children first over God. I'm know at the stage of working with my pastor to see if reconciliation is possible.
Thanks Pastor 👍
