    It's about time somebody got the eschatology of the new testament correctly stated. And Douglas Wilson has nailed it perfectly. The new testament as written is moored in the shadow of a.d. 70. This is the tension felt by 1st century believers. Be ready to get out of Jerusalem, may your flight not be on a sabbath, or in the dead of winter. When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies head for the hills, and they did exactly that to a place called Pella. This is a day oy of the Lord, judgement commenced and those that clung to the old covenant went down with it. This is the wrath of the lamb in 1st century Israel, Rev.6:16. People have missed this part of the story for centuries and many are grasping at straws to this very day. John the Baptist knew wrath was coming during his own ministry in Matthew 3:7. John is talking about a.d 70!!!!!!

    Brothers, the Lord showed me 2 months ago, an extraordinary vision, regarding the DAY OF THE LORD. I saw myself outside, among the people, and suddenly, an immense light, which encompassed everything, coming from above, of an unimaginable force and power, hit us unexpectedly. At that moment, I didn't have time for anything, I just managed to shout: OH MY GOD! I woke up instantly, and I heard a voice in my head (I knew it was the Lord), which told me: GOAL! And then I told him, remembering that in the BIBLE, it is written that the Lord's Day is a day of great auspiciousness, as it has never been before and will never be again, and I asked Him if this is what we must do, when we see this light. The LORD answered me that that LIGHT is HIM and that our GOAL from that moment, for salvation, is to CRY FOR HIM!! What I can tell you, after this experience, is that the ONLY thing we need is FAITH in the LORD. Believe me, nothing will save us on that day, except HIM! Glory to our Lord! AMEN!!!!!

      Hyper preterism...? Time of the Gentiles isn't fulfilled, for the trampling and shattering of the Holy people were 42 months, the time of the Gentile nations is still happening, with a remnant being saved of Israel simultaneously, then all of Israel will be saved. And then probably the Ressurection on the last day.

    At 37 minutes in, you need to consider this;
    "But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.
    Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone;
    but if it dies, it produces much grain. HE who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life
    in this world will keep it for eternal life. If ANYONE serves Me, let him FOLLOW Me; and where I am,
    there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."

    Devil's Advocate here; if in fact a partial preterist perspective is the proper understanding of this (and other passages) then why didn't ANY of the church fathers, post 70AD cite these as fulfilled prophecies, demonstrating the Lordship of Christ? Instead, it is going to be a LONG time before anyone offers the preterist view. Not making an argument here; just asking a question. Edit; what I mean is that if the preterist view was intended, and understood by the original audience, then surely, that interpretation would have survived in later generations. People would have remembered what Paul wrote and that it had already come to pass, proving that the prophecies were true,

Post mill did not occur til 1650 AD darby dispensation did not come about till the 1800's as far as Partial preterist did not begin till at least Augustine in its infancy ALSO I have found out Augustine was the first to claim the Mary was a perpetual virgin and also said the sex within marriage is a sin if it is not specifically for the purpose of pregnancy only and I just started on Augustine long way to go yet

    Since Paul says "the ends of the ages has come upon us" (1 Corinthians 10:11), then we must realize that they were living in the last age before the Parousia and the age to come. It is also important to know that an age lasts much longer than a generation. We are, therefore, still in the age that came upon the early Christians. We are living in the Messianic age, NOT in the age to come.
    In Matthew 16:28 Jesus tells us that there would be some who would not taste death until they saw the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. This is what Doug says has an "any minute vibe" about it. However, Matthew 16:27 clearly speaks of the Second Coming (the Parousia). This is the final judgment when the Son of Man comes in the glory of His Father with all the holy angels.
    Nero is a type of "the man of sin" but he is NOT "the man of sin." If that were so, then 70 AD would be the FINAL coming (the Parousia). Preterists give way too much to the Full Preterists when they misconstrue the text in this way. Why is it that some Christians do not understand types?
    I would not, say that any verse which speaks of Jesus' "soon" coming as the destruction of Jerusalem. Jesus says in Revelation that He is coming "soon." He is near at the door. He did not come with His angels in 70 AD, but he did come in judgment through the instrument of the Roman armies.

    Lol Paul is clearly talking about the same event and had dealt with the thes thinking they missed the day of the Lord And Much like Jesus when Jesus warned let no one deceive you when he talked about EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM and Paul reiterated some of the things Jesus said must happen Before THAT DAY Interesting as well how much they Jesus and Paul WARN let no one deceive you
    2 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
    5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

    God does not see you as being perfect, as though this is being imputed to you, perfection is a spiritual position, it is a spiritual thing, not a mind, academic or intellectual position, as though if I have understanding and believe in what I understand this is faith, certainly not,
    Christ died to remove the law that is, the condemnation of the law, now we are no longer under the law we are under grace, meaning, we are under the Mercy and the love of God, if God sees me as perfect then gods Mercy is no longer upon me, because that which is perfect has no need of mercy, Only those who are imperfect require mercy,
    you are father mother you have a child, they break the law of righteousness, do you condemn them, yet, you may rebuke or punish them, but they are still under your authority of love and mercy, they are under grace, image of God, those who are under the law have no god for the law is their God, this is why they are under the law, they worship the law, there is no mercy in the law, there is no heart in the law, so when one is under the law they worship the law, the law becomes God,
    when one is under grace they worship God, love and mercy is what rules them, those who are under grace judge as one who is under grace, they do not judge as one who is under the law, this is why when the Pharisees, that is the church, wanted to stone the adulterous woman they were under the law, they worship the law the law was their God, in this, they failed to see the truth that is in front of the face,
    but when one is under grace and mercy one lives in the truth, because it has to do with heart, spirit, love is a living being, it is a living thing, understand, this is what salvation is, the light of love, so when you are under grace you are under love and mercy in this, God see you simply as you are, if you sin then he sees this because it's simply is the truth, but he's love and mercy is upon you, this is the power of Salvation, this is the difference not because God sees you as perfect, this is error.

      @@Chirhopher what I say is true you do not understand the dynamics of what is going on here, do you think God sees you as perfect how can he, he would be denying the truth, Perfection lives within you because you are born of light the living God are you this one, that you are born of the glory of god, then you would understand these things, righteousness is given to us because of the spirit, those who possess the spirit not do not have this righteousness, they do not belong to him, the spirit transforms us into perfection, the living spirit is a living reality, people like you simply read the scriptures think you are one of these and simply believe it, without ever recognising this true, the spiritual state of your own heart, then answer me this, when you look at your heart what do you see, your sinful nature passions and desires or do you see the glory of god.
