  • There are Two Books in The Path of Sri Ramana. The First is SELF INQUIRY of which this is the Fourth Part, The Technique of Self Inquiry. Book Two which deals with BHAKTI will follow and is The Path of Sri Ramana: Bhakti - Devotion. They are labelled as Parts One And Two. But I am not referring to them that way to avoid confusion as I upload different parts of each one. These are both excellent and unique insights into the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharishi.

    "
How this book came into existence is briefly as
follows: After Bhagavan Sri Ramana cast off His mortal body
in 1950, many of His devotees from both India and abroad
gradually came to recognize Sri Sadhu Om Swamigal, the
author of this book, not only as one of the foremost
disciples of Sri Bhagavan, but also as a person endowed
with a rare gift to elucidate His teachings in a clear and
simple manner which could easily be understood and
followed in practice by all seekers of true knowledge. Thus
many devotees used to approach Sri Swamigal seeking
clarification from him about all aspects of Sri Bhagavan’s
teachings, especially about the method of practicing
    Self-enquiry."

Lomakayu, your postings are beyond any ability to express in words or compensation, even saying thanks is a pitiful remark, so silence is the closest approach this life can offer. ❤️

I love all your heart-felt giving. I have gratefully listened to you and the masters you represent for years. As a metaphysician, I do find when words such as "the man" and "he" to be off-putting, even though I know "he" is used generically, like "mankind". Knowing also that the mystic path has been traditionally male in India (with a few female exceptions) it still feels limiting and exclusive--because it has been my life's work. Yet I also know that this is just paying attention to the third person and has nothing to do with the real "I".

People believe in their mind and want to do some-thing to become some-thing. They don't know that knowing with their mind is non-knowing and you do not have to do something to be. It is too easy for their mind that is in the search mode always. There is no-thing to be searched for. The mind think about some thing. It wants to become a special thing. So abdanon the mind it can only distract you from that being that you already are and this is in your heart. There are also no special sensations or feelings of bliss. Fix your attention on your heart that is in your body. No thought can give you what you want. Be the being and that's the end. There is no-thing to reach or attain. The mind only produces illusions, distractions and dreams.

The mind and the self are not separate. The mind turned outwards is the ego and all the world. The mind turned inwards is the self.

Because i am is our truest nature. We assume the thoughts and tendencies are us. We are merely looking at the product instead of the source. Gaze upon the source and recognize the truth.

@@tobiasdontmatter1868 So this all is the product of "mind". The idea of a world and an personal Self / personal I are only projections. The real One is empty and full at the same time. No body or mind can grasp it.

I've tried all the tricks in the book to catch a glimpse of my true self but all I see is the movement of the thinker. The thinker never goes away. No matter how hard you try because the thing that is exerting all this effort is the rat(the thinker)trying to get out of a cage it is trapped in. Please give me your intel on how to transcend the thinker. We are caught in a matrix.

We just try to enjoy/extend the space in between thoughts even if it's a split second the duration is equivalent to an eternity. The more we are aware of these moments between thoughts, the longer these moments of pure silence become.
Hopefuly this was somewhat helpful to you. I too struggle with the inner chatter but the training that we all need has arrived. Shirt not an option. 🥰

So, the way to do self-inquiry is to constantly question: “who am I?”. Not as a mantra, but as a constant mental activity and if a thought comes up; you ask: “where are these thoughts coming from?” I want to make sure I understand this correctly

    • @OrthoNepali

I think it’s to be aware of the thought “I” or the feeling “I”. I think it’s good to read Be as you are: David Godman. This book explains it

But if too much thoughts arise you came go back to self attention with the help of: who am I? Amd to whom do these thoughts arise.

    • @Frank-rx9gq
      @Frank-rx9gq ปีที่แล้ว

      No.
It's self attention to the self or the first person. There's no question to ask but rather simply look within at the "I".
