These recordings are from live Satsangs at Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Centre in Melbourne, Australia. All the pointers during the Satsang are compiled by Dr Vidya Narasimhan and Shloka recital by Neelakantan ji.
Satsang is a Sanskrit term derived from two roots: sat meaning "true’" and sangha meaning community, company, or association. It can be translated as "associating with good people" or simply "being in the company of truth," and refers to the act of gathering with Sattvic-minded, uplifting beings, especially spiritual seekers.
Satsang is different from any course or lecture because the energy field in it allows for clarity, stillness, and expanded awareness to be experienced by those who seek it.
Whenever something increases your awareness of the Truth, it opens your Heart and quiets your mind.
Satsang is one of the most effective means of transcending your mind and staying in the egoless state which can be called enlightenment, liberation, freedom, moksha, nirvana or simply abiding in Self.
We call our Satsang lovingly as Bhagavan Satsang as they are all due to his grace, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
According to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Satsang means only Atma Sang(Association with Self). Those who are trying to be in Self can come in the company of realized beings/Sadhus/Saints/Sages and that is also Satsang. Those who come in the company of Jivanmuktas also become Jivanmuktas.
Bhagavan explained the importance of Satsang by quoting Tayumanuvar, Suta Samhita, and Kaivalya Navanitam.
Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi is widely thought of as one of the most outstanding Indian spiritual teachers of recent times. Having attained enlightenment at the age of 16, he was drawn to the holy mountain of Arunachala in southern India and remained there for the rest of his life. Arunachala mountain itself is considered to be self-manifested Lingam, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Just by looking at it with reverence liberation will happen.
Attracted by his stillness, quietness, and teachings, thousands sought his guidance on issues ranging from the nature of God to daily life.
The philosophy of Advaita or Non-Duality has become, along with Buddhism, one of the most popular spiritual paths being pursued by those interested in enlightenment today. During the past three decades, Advaita has become more widely recognized in the West through the ever-growing popularity of Ramana Maharshi. His point of view has for its aim Self-realization. The central path taught in this philosophy is the inquiry into the nature of Self, the content of the notional 'I-thought'. Carl Jung wrote of Ramana: “Sri Ramana is a true son of the Indian earth. He is genuine and, in addition to that, something quite phenomenal. In India, he is the whitest spot in a white space. What we find in the life and teachings of Sri Ramana is the purest of India; with its breath of world-liberated and liberating humanity, it is a chant of millenniums.”
    Om Peace Peace Peace.

Listening only to this one satsang is better than reading thousands of books on spirituality. Simple, profound and direct teachings of Bhagavan are brought forth beautifully. Many thanks to Dr Sanjay Raghav and Congratulations to the conscious circle team for doing excellent work for humanity.

@@Divinegame580 Pure loving Awareness, which I am, is not an object which is subject to finding. In order to find something-indeed some “thing”-one must make that thing the object of one’s search. Awareness is eternally the subject and thus can never be an object. Of anything. The play of Maya is Awareness searching for Itself in objects. Once Awareness remembers who It is, the search is simply abandoned because the realization is made: I am that which I was seeking.

Just to be and to observe from an impartial, neutral position, brings peace and pure bliss. Thank you so much for sharing this great and essential wisdom of Sri Ramana. Be blessed!

This guy knows exactly what he's talking about. I have spent 20 years on Ramana's technique (being aware that you're aware) but my ego had a lot of tricks and there were many beliefs that were deep rooted that's why it's taking so long.

Saying that mindfulness and other meditations are useless is extreme and simply untrue.
We (obviously) cannot get liberated/awakened instantly. We do need a path and a teacher. So, we need various techniques, symbols etc., to help us practice this witnessing awareness, but also wisdom and open-heartedness in order to drop the ego.
As Mingyur Rinpoche said: “Meditation is really a process of nonjudgmental awareness.”

Questions from a very interested but still very confused & deluded mind.
Dear Dr. Sanjay Raghav thank you again for another wonderful Satsang.🙏 I think I understand the idea of why preferences, likes/dislikes would be a block & barrier to enlightenment & that all such things are nothing more than the delusions of a conditioned, dualistic mind & ultimately non-existent ego that just doesn't want to be exposed to & dissolved by the Light of Truth. I've been told by the masters of wisdom that the entire Multiverse of all phenomena is not real but the Divine Dream of the Infinite/Eternal/Real but obviously I still do not understand this correctly.
    1) How does one not have a like & preference for the teachings/pointings of the masters of wisdom such as Bhagwan Sri Ramana Maharshi?
    2) How does one not prefer Light/Love/Truth over, not their opposite since that is the ignorance of duality, but the complete lack of this, which is Darkness/Hate/Delusion?
    3) How does one not have dislike, aversion, anger & even hatred for the injustice of industrial scale exploitation/oppression, rape/pedophilia, slavery/torture & murder/war/genocide of humanity & all life on this planet?
    4) How does one see the divinity in & remain non-attached to the horrors of the egos Insanity?
Maybe I don't understand but I have been told about the natural cycles of time & that human civilization is nearing the end of this Kali-Yuga & that it is always darkest at the end of Kali-Yuga before the dawn of the new Sat-Yuga but still..
    5) How is one not supposed to have a preference for the teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana over those of Adolf Hitler for example?
It seems to me that in these final years of this Kali-Yuga, human civilization is devolving & degenerating rapidly & that the number of followers of both the teachers of Bhagwan's Knowledge/Love & the teachers of Hitler's Ignorance/Insanity are growing rapidly as well.
    6) Is perfect non-attachment & freedom from fear & desire only to be realized through the deepest Self-Inquiry & total Self-Surrender?
Aren't these all really the same question?

Thank You for making us realise that just be an "observer", in it's true sense. I too practiced being an observer, but this culprit mind somehow sneaked inside and started commenting on things and persons, without my being aware of it. As a result, thoughts emerged and took me for a ride. Sometimes, I remembered and then once again started being an observer. Thanks for pointing that this mind is an imposter and makes us think that we are the thoughts. So if someone passed a caustic comment, I used to feel bad/ hurt. I really wanted to get rid of this mind which keeps going outward. No mind, no thought. Just be emersed in the Self, which is totally unaware of everything and everyone in this so called world. Mind will automatically dwindle by itself. That will be Real Relief! Thank You for your timely support, when life is still there and be an observer of the destruction of our enemy, the mind. 🙏🙏🙏 Jai Shree Ramana Maharshi 🙏🙏🙏

    My disclaimer before watching this:
The thing about this talk and any other talk in general is that they make the listener feel good from an intellectual point of view.
The listener goes, “mmm hmm yes I agree”. But the listener actually has to follow the advice and quiet his mind enough to reach a more tranquil state of being.
He or she has to find the time out of the daily schedules to dive into meditation…Or be inward focused at all times doing anything during the waking hours in silence observation of self.
This talk is drawing the listener out of himself and engaging the very intellect which must be turned off.
All that said, I, along with countless others on this path are indubitably drawn to talks like this due to our failures of having quieted the mind. Thank you for the valuable discourse from the great spiritual teachers.

I also thank him for his grace in leading me to find your satsang. From the eternal silence I hear the gracious Lord speaking to me more every day. Thank you for keeping the broadcast going.
Could you possibly give an English translation of the Arunachala chant that opens each satsang. I love

The word meditate is misleading. It implies doing something. If observing the mind is doing something then make effort to do that-- observe.
What has helped me is listening to some of the videos at the Nonduality Podcast channel by Randall Friend. One video is called What's Beyond Thought? I've gotten to point where I don't have to sit and meditate but I'm meditating all day long because all I am doing is observing but as Randall Friend would say even the word observe is a mind concept.
      Hope this helps.

@@anatureperson5551 yeah but observation without me involving is meditation if ur brain is recording everything then it will take all credits which strengthen ego

Take it easy. Enjoy. Don’t get stress out. Meditation is not the end of world 🌎: one cannot be observing all the time. Self awareness and self consciousness is not possible. Mind automatism many times takes over. Mind has been there for millions years

I need medication because I suffer from a mental illness.(bipolar) I keep on observing my mind even during much suffering. I also have an autistic son who is quite demanding. These teaching help me immensely, as they are written on my heart. Is there a chance to become pure awareness when I take the meds? Thankyou! ❤😊

Isn’t knowing that you are an observer still an object subject reality?

There should be no effort to become what we already are is the dying of the me isn’t it that has to happen and we cannot make it happen. please comment

I think you’re right, and it’s a flow between effort and ease… but really nothing needs to be “done.” Whether we choose action or stillness, the ultimate is unf***withable 😂😇. And it’s more of a remembering/surrendering to again experience oneness with the ultimate.

Thank you 🙏🏼. I have a question about “not doing for others “ - what if the others is your parents, and what if they cannot afford to go on a vacation and their only way to do so is if I take them (and I want to take them) and at my own cost (and I feel I can cover it)… so in this case, because I’m willing to do so, is that from ego or from self? I would really appreciate your thoughts Dr Sanjay 💜🙏🏼

If you conceive an “I” which is taking them, paying for it, etc., then it is from ego. If you take the approach that God is causing everything to happen and therefore “I” am not doing anything (and make sure to give God the credit for everything “you” might otherwise congratulate yourself for), then you will be okay. It helps to renounce the fruits of all skillful actions, but for sure avoid taking any personal credit (in the form of pride) for it. Om namahshivaya.

How does one disappear when being a mother ? It’s a hard thing to accomplish, I know I can do it because I AM that I AM … it’s like I’m a really strong force here on earth but these kids keep me in the 3d world soooo confusing haha ❤️🌈☀️🥳 I welcome all pointers

You already are the observer. Just expand the point of reference of the observer to limitless satcitananda. Or collapse it to Shunyata.

I’ve heard a story about Ramana speaking to someone and he said “I was just thinking about you…”
