I love the design of scooter brakes - a metal butterfly :) I was surprised to hear your comment about dust and squeaking. You do such an outstanding job with the upkeep of all the bikes, it was surprising to see that pesky dust; it was quite sneaky, squatting on Hope :)
Thanks for this easy explanation. My Peugeot Kisbee has 12000km on the clock and the rear brakes just barely do anything now. I already adjusted the tension but still, I should probably swap the pads.
Nice Lil tid bit of information. I still have low miles on Boot Scoot but, there will be a time when I'll need to do this. As always, appreciate all of your tips and tricks with these.
And of course for me they don't budge at all no matter what. It's the trivialy easy stuff that always becomes a roadblock. Edit. Got easy from donor engine block but my previous one just had super stiff springs.
@@kachiskid haha, yeah blood sacrifice to the Gods was made. It is weird how same spec drum brakes end up having such different spring stiffness. Anyway great video and subscribed!
Great video. I recently tried to get my wheel off but was unable to get the piece of metal between wheel and exhaust off. I undid the two bolts and shock from the exhaust side and whacked it with a hammer a few times . What am I missing?!
Thank you. I think you are talking about the swing-arm assembly. Attempt to jack the bike up, pressure off the back tire might help. Couple of small hits with a rubber mallet and should pop free.
@@kachiskid Mine was mangled pretty bad and stuck out way too far. On a hard surface it was impossible to use and on dirt you had to roll it and slam the thing down like the bike is pole vaulting. When it was hitting my new exhaust, it had to go.

@@kachiskid thanks, o btw will the ngk sparkplugs CR7HSA is also for this bike right?? And since i have a 28mm carb, that sparkplug is fine to my bike right?? Thanks..

I have a problem with mine, i got the right sized brake shoes and replaced it fine but it does not grip it properly. No matter how much i adjust the nut the brake shoes dont lock up the wheel completely. Judging by the comments of your average audience. Might be worth mention that those brake shoes were more or less at about half of its useful life! Practical translation: No doubt they would benefit from some cleaning, But definitely didn't need replacement! Certainly it's a cheap machine, but that's still money down the drain... For no reason at all! ;-)
Yeah, they didn't need to be replaced yet but for the price ($15), why not. The video's pay for themselves, it more about making a video, straight to the point, in attempt to help out others.
Another one of your concise explanations. Good job. Always looking forward to the next one!

Oh not regular dust, I was speaking about brake dust. Yeah the metal butterfly is the look of all drum brakes.
Many cars have these brakes too. Drum brakes

The reassembly only consists on putting on the back tire, and reinstalling the exhaust.

Do you have a video on tools needed for scooter repair
