a year ago you did an electro voice vintage dynamic mic shootout, and i was just wondering what you did to get the guitar tone in that video when micing amps! loved it soo much
This might be a stretch but some of those tasty arpeggiated phrases with the open strings that you let ring out real nice and tastefully makes me suspect you might be a bit of a jonny greenwood fan
Regardless of if I'm grasping for straws, I am a huge fan of your work and am desperate to catch one of your drops one day. Ever since I saw that B&O BM5 video I've been obsessed with vintage microphones... And stereo ribbons
Am I a terrible person if I don’t know who Jonny Greenwood is haha. I’ll look him up! Thanks so much for your kind words. Hope I can hook you up with a microphone here soon!
@@colepicksvintageWell you're in good company alongside him in the " heroes of mine" club, It's only right that you become acquainted!!. Something about degrees of separation or whatever. But in fact yes you're a terrible person for not knowing the big JG's name, but I'm sure you've heard his stuff if you're a fan of Radiohead, Paul Thomas Anderson, Frank Ocean, The band that was playing in one scene of Harry Potter 4, the list goes on. He's in my opinion one of the most inventive (if not the most) & influential mainstream guitarists of the last 30 years or so, so kudos for channeling him while also being the internet's microphone hero. 👑 &yeaI hope so too, I'm in a different time zone but I have alarms set to try and catch the drops, I feel like I'm 14 waiting for the next supreme drop. The quickness with which you sell out and the difference between your price and resale price are certainly reminiscent of that era, as will be the magic of finally snagging one for myself. I'll be awaiting the day. Also did you fix / recap that Ampex 600- 602 -ish looking sidecar preamp I see is that next to your space echo unit, and do you use it often/ like it? I picked one up on eBay that's functioning but needs some work but I'm on the fence about putting the money in. So many tubes though. Thanks for reading all this if you did, and if you need recommendations to hop into JG's guitar work if you're looking for 🎸 inspiration, I can DEFINITELY hook you up. We could do great business together. /S
This is great! Those are all awesome names so I'll have to check him out. I had Electric & Company restore my Ampex - they turn them stereo and do a great job restoring them! Always here for the rec's!@@quasar1
