I'm really glad you see my(and other peoples) suggestions in the comments. It's awesome to see other witches perspectives and views on these things.(yes I have like 3 google accounts don't question it I'm not like on a watchlist or anything).

Hearth , A lot of the problems that happened in Salem Village centered around the Purirans who were fighting with their Ministers., anger with each other , money etc
The best part of Witchcraft is that there is no one right way. All methods are correct as long as you are being respectful. For example, the thing with ritual offerings - as far as my knowledge is concerned, the western witchy community believes the food must not be consumed. Whereas in the east, especially in Hinduism, we first offer the food offerings to the spirit and after some time we consume it or give it to some other person or animal to consume it. The reason is that it is believed that spirits consume offerings via some physical medium. So, when someone is eating it, the offering rightfully goes to spirit. See, there are two variations and yet both have their own beliefs and both are correct. You are free to choose whichever suites you.
I really loved the attitude that this lady had during the whole thing. She was really just vibing with these people and being very respectful of their practices even if she didn't understood it, and that is something that is unfortunately not very common in these kind of videos.
I haven't cursed anyone but I do place protection spells on any female energy that goes near my ex. That way if he has turned into a better person it won't matter but if he's still a d-bag protections are in place. I don't keep in contact with him or any of his family/friends so I don't know what's going on there. I wish there was more I could do. This small thing helps make me feel at ease.
Although the thing you said about offerings shouldn't be eaten is correct for most of the paths, in Kemetic beliefs you need to eat/drink the offering afterwards because Egyptian deities don't like it when you throw away food (at their time food was something that is highly valued). So if you're working with Kemetic deities just keep this in mind.
I think telling someone you've cursed them can be a useful psychological tactic if you're looking to freak someone out. The next time something bad happens to them they will be like "omg was that the curse?"
That's kinda like if you were to slip a copy of the Hex or Curse into their jacket or whatever, so they find it eventually down the line. Imagine how bad they'd freak out lol. Like oh crap how did they put it in, and WHEN was it put it in there?!
I've told people I've cursed them; not because I have, or even plan to, or to big up my ego, but because they were looking down upon people and start to panic the moment you tell them. Haha. That's punishment enough. I'm over here living my laugh, and they have to work on dismissing a curse that doesn't exist.
As an "East Coast" witch, I live 1 hour from Salem I love how Thomas was like "no" at the end. Massachusetts, Rhode Island (where I live and practice), our vibes are VERY different than LA he hit that right on the head, we are open to others but not all "love and light "
I'd say LA scene has more influence from the lasting post hippie psychedelic vine that still circulates here. I'd imagine more witches here also dabble more in entheogens, over east coast?
I came up as a New England witch, got into the annual October Salem visit for a few years, and have since spent the past decade in Colorado. I also came to this path in the 90's and so the 'witches are rebels' vibe of that time imprinted on me somewhat. One of the things that I noticed had permeated my 'pagan persona' if you will, that I'm just now cleansing out, was what I noticed in just the first seconds of the reaction. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it feels like many New England witches have taken on the persecution of our predecessors as our own and crusade against it at the same time. It's like we're constantly expecting someone to come along and demand to see our "Witch License" and then arrest/burn us for not having a thing that doesn't exist. We constantly have to justify our practices and rights, even to our peers and allies, even in our safest of spaces. We're defensive and quickly hostile, if only energetically, in the presence of anything short of enthusiastic acceptance, which we often receive these days, out of some assumed expectation of persecution. We don't need to associate ourselves with our ancestors pains in order to also associate with their power, or our own. We also don't have to be the rebels we once were in order to step into our power today, and that's a part of this that I am happy to have learned. It was a burden that was not mine to bear and I gladly put it down.

This video hit me on several levels. One, I've been reading and practicing on my own for about two years now, so seeing how others do their workings is really helpful for me. Two, I love your commentary on these sorts of videos because it adds another dimension to already informative and enjoyable content. Three, I found out from my genealogy-loving aunt about six weeks ago that our family is related to one of the women convicted of witchcraft during the Salem trials, and our family is from that general area of Mass. (that latter bit I knew, since I was born in Mass.) Four, when my brother was going through his personal beliefs about 20 years ago, he'd narrowed down his viewpoint to humanistic atheist and the Satanic Temple, and he'd talked me through his thought process at the time, which is where I first heard about the Satanic Temple (he ended up deciding on atheism in the end because he didn't identify with the ST's use of Satan as even a symbol for representation, but he really respects that philosophy). This is a long way of saying thank you for your content, because it's really informative and relatable, and this video was awesome!
Just learnt about the Pendle witch trials the other day, which led on to reading other witch trials. All I felt after reading was "these people need justice".

Hearth. Lirio ( the expirienced Witch in the Craft) explains to the girls that " the good or bad in magick is in the heart of the Witch."..ie intention... " Magick is neither black nor white...it's both...because nature is both ...loving and cruel at the same time...life keeps a balance on its own."
Not a straight up witchy thing but in Chinese tradition we would offer food for the dead on their altar during the hungry ghost festival or their birthday/any important day but we would eat it after we asked permission and get an ok. Usually relatives eat the food but depending of what they believe other people can eat it too. They say the food taste different after offering it, idk if that's true bc I guess I'm used to it by now.
Hey Hearth, I love your examinations of these practices and your perceptions/interpretations of the craft in general. Your channel is definitely a cornerstone for knowledge and supplies (mostly books ATM) that I religiously incorporate into my own practice. As for your explanation of the more Wiccan interpretation of "so mote be, it is done" section of this video, I strongly agree that for my own practice, I prefer to view a bandaged, broken arm (as used in the example) as something to nurture, mend, and protect rather than seeing the arm being healed. As with you, I don't disparage anyone on their beliefs; but also agree that if I were to treat a real broken arm as though it were healed, I would be far more likely to incur greater damage to said arm. I'd rather (in a metaphorical sense) consume more vitamins that aid in repairing bones. Which is to say, I'd rather work from the ground and upwards, ensuring that I put efforts into the aspects of my mundane life that improve my odds of holistic healing rather than a "band-aid solution". Magic is not the answer and solution to everything, but it's (for me at least) a way set reminders of my goals, and a way to ask the powers that be to assist me in my journey towards the best life that I can provide for myself. I also found it interesting that one of the practitioners does their workings based on scents! As someone with hyposmia (partial loss of smell), I find other people's perceptions of scents quite fascinating. I compared my problem to being colourblind or having glaucoma, where one sees the world skewed to that of the norm, only with aromas. I can smell if something has gone off (expired) but can't distinguish between various fruity scents - they're all kind of muddied together in my mind. I work with essential oils in my practice, not only for the magical correspondences but also to train myself to differentiate and recognize scents others would take for granted. So like I said, it's absolutely fascinating to see someone work primarily based on their nose, and adding the ingredients that blend well aromatically as well as through correspondences - it's absolutely wild! Your insights and fearlessness to bock and respectfully disagree is why your channel is in my top choices. Please continue being your awesome, genuine, and insightful self and I will happily continue supporting your work. Peace be with you
As someone whois new to the magick community I am glad to have found your channrl. Your reviews , reading suggestions, and suggestion to study for ourselves instead of playing follow the leader is very refreshing. Please continue putting out this type of content. I watched that particular Sky Life video about a year ago and was so glad I did. I love learning about other peoples beliefs &/or practice. As a baby witch I know that many practices are far misunderstood and incorrect, however I did not have much accurate info on satanism until watching this. Which did inspire me to want to learn more about a very shunned practice. I appreciate you covering this video. 💛
I have been feeling super dehydrated and even though I've been drinking lots of water today, I needed that reminder at the end. Thanks Hearth!! Love your videos!!!
yes I am verly coming out on my instagram and posting things here and there because that's where all my family and friends are ..but posting little seeds here and there on the true nature
33:10 great video. Thank you for sharing your amazing wealth of knowledge. I totally agree that most movies about witches portray witches well, but I really love ‘Good Witch‘. Some might say it’s a bit cheesy but for me it’s an ultimate comfort show and in my opinion it shows real witchcraft in a really beautiful way 😊
I live in Massachusetts and still have yet to go to Salem! It’s only 2 hours from me and I’m also a newbie witch (I started when I was 15, but unfortunately my life took a different turn and I ended up in a very heavy heroin addiction. Now I’m a mom of 2 young boys and finding myself again) I’ve been binging your videos and I’m leaning so much and have bought so many of the books you’ve recommended so thank you!
I LOVED this. I wish more people would open their minds and start enlightening themselves to the truths about witchcraft, Satanism, etc. Sadly, the people around me choose to live in their ignorance and refuse to listen when I try to educate them. I have to say though, as great as the main portion of the video was, the end, that ending had me laughing. You had images in my head of the little girl from Despicable Me, poodles, and the people staring at you while walking while you just own that towel on your head. Love it! Thank you, I needed that laugh
1. What's your opinion of The Good Witch??? 2. Thank you so much for commenting on the "picture it better" part, Ive always struggled with that visualization and I thought I just wasn't that good at Spellwork, but I always picture is very quickly mending, so maybe I should have less doubt on that :)
I went to Salem last year in October to celebrate my birthday. Only drawback was celebrations were scaled down because of COVID. My ancestors actually lived in Salem during the witch trials, so as a witch, it was always on my bucket list to go to Salem. It’s a really beautiful place.
Omg, the Loki trailer. June 9th can’t come soon enough. (And I really did appreciate the rest of the video, but I got so excited that you’re currently obsessed with something I’m also currently obsessed with, I had to comment, lol.)
I was sad watching Noel Miller rip this video up. :( But it's nice to see your reactions. I don't agree with everything either but I really liked seeing how open, loving, and accepting these people were. They wear their heart on their sleeves unapologetically. It's admirable!
I legit just yelled when he held the charcoal disk in his hand. Flashbacks haha! Also nice to see the Satanic Temple represented. While I am a polytheistic witch, I appreciate everything about the Satanic Temple and recently just joined myself Edit: "You're supposed to breath when you talk" Me: SAYS WHO?!
GUUURL I was wondering if you'd do this! Salem Witch Trials and The Inquisition were cancel culture amplified. Seems like humans have no ability to learn from history.
Religious and patriarchal authorities throughout history persecuting women and religious minorities isn’t really the same thing at all as modern day conservatives being held accountable for their own words and actions, but okay.
If you do want a more structured practice, try studying other branches and practices and see what resonates with you and what you can incorporate. Maybe there are certain rituals or incantations you’d like to apply to your metallurgy, maybe crystals you’d like to combine, etc. There is no specific rigid path you need to follow, so try broadening your scope, follow your intuition, and see what sticks~!! And if one thing doesn’t feel quite right, you can move onto the next thing. A lot of witchcraft is about intention, and putting your heart into your metallurgy is already a giant leap in the right direction!! Maybe this isn’t the most specific advice you were hoping for, and I know how frustrating it can be not finding the exact information you want. Sometimes we kind of just have to wing it a little bit and do what feels right. I hope this gets the cogs turning and helps a little bit. Also consider joining a community to get more people’s opinions; the perspective of others is quite often invaluable. Anyhow, I think metallurgy is a fascinating thing to incorporate into the craft, and I wish you the best of luck. 💚✨
I do the same thing, if I find it or see it, i use it! old jars, followers, rocks, nails Everything has a purpose. Love these little bits at the end of the video hahaha x
A comment on leaving food/drink offerings. My experience shows that they might rot/evaporate quicker than typically, or they might be preserved in a way that they wouldn't elsewhere. For example, during midsummer I made an offering which included various citrus. One of the lemons I offered was fully dried and preserved without my intervention
I loved this video and I love that SkyLife gets the word out in such an open minded and loving way to the "normies" :) Your videos are always full of useful tidbits, like the thing about offerings: something valuable to you is a really potent offering. I was just wondering whether it's better to give something that's a big sacrifice for you, like your favorite food, or something you can't or don't use, like burnt bread (which I heard was a traditional offering in Hoodoo I believe? Don't quote me, I can't remember now where I read that) ... Y'know, we really just need a Hearth Offering Basics video :D
I just saw this whole entire video at Sky Life's channel and it is awesome. Maybe one day I get to go to Salem and see what is out there. Thank you HearthWitch, and by the way did you ever had an Out of Body Experience before? If not I think you should try it or at least Lucid Dreaming it is fantastic. You can practice your magick in The Astral Realm and it will become more in-tuned with you. Just a little tip from me. Much Love and Hugs and many blessings!!
I prefer to think of the Witch Trials as an interrogation or crusade (By the definition of the word for crusade is what I mean), because, and hear me out here, interrogations can be used to get answers but most of the time especially decades ago it was used to force an answer until you got the answer you wanted and crusades also used this but on a much larger scale. Trial implies there was a hearing of some kind to me and most if not all accused back then had no hearing at all, therefore no trial.
Help needed. I am wanting to start out in witchcraft but have heeded warnings that protections have to be put in place first. My question is how do I actually put protections in place..ie practically what do I do do protect myself home and family at the start?
OH MY GOD!!! The guy with the long hair at the beginning, Thomas, is who I took 2 walking tours from in Salem last October. He was really cool. I’ve never seen his face before because we had to wear masks the entire time. I will, however, never forget his voice. This looks like it was filmed around the time I was in Salem too. As a witch, he explained the normal witchy stuff, And did it in a way my brother understood. Which was cool, cause in 20yrs, I’ve never been able to do that. He also knows a lot of history of Salem & was able to tell me about my family who lived in Salem during the witch trials. He recognized the name as wealthy merchants. I’ve since followed up on his lead & it’s proved correct. So trippy to see him on here. He said he’s also in a Netflix Adam Sandler Halloween movie that filmed in Salem.
Your outtakes at the end of your videos always make me laugh but I was losing it with this one. You’re so funny and real and not afraid to show it. Love it lol. Great video too 💜
Hey Hearth ! Talking about The Craft, did you see The Craft: legacy ? What did you think ? A "a witch react" vidéo would be so fun ! The 2nd movie is really different from the 1st.
I love when you talked about movies/TV shows. Everyone I know told me to watch the new Sabrina show... but I only got about 30 min into it and couldn't keep with it. All the Satan/Dark One talk just really put me off.
The comment I left on their video was about the curse thing too. Curses are real, but free will still exists and no one can fully control you or override your free will, and you have the power to undo them. So what I agree with in Pixie's statement is that people can't control you, however I believe in curses. edit: I didn't know what Vesta powder was and I NEED IT NOW, this is so good visually!!
You know I want to go to a psychic 1 because I want to see what they say, and 2 I want to test their legitimacy by asking them basic questions like What can you use rusty nails for in a spell? Can you explain centering and grounding to me? What are some of the uses for moon water? I think it would be fun
Oh that blooper reel. I was snorting with laughter by the end, with headphones in my ears, so I’m sure my family thought I was nuts giggling to myself. 🤣
I am a fairly new subscriber. Also, I am revisiting my own craft. (I have been fearful). I also realize this is a fairly old vlog...there is just thought that keeps repeating in my head that I feel a compelling reason to share..."What is a Science Creator without Magical thinking and knowledge...What is a Magic and Craft worker without Science and knowledge"?
I am a baby witch and watching your videos is so helpful. I have always been spiritual, love nature, love animals, the moonlight is memorizing to me and I especially love the darker months of the year.
Being a tour guide for the satanic temple is just that guys job. Not an 'atheist' in the modern sense, more so not a beliver in an monotheistic super power but none the less into plenty of other 'woo woo' (as an modern atheist would put it).
I really enjoyed Sarah working through scent. I’ve never heard of that. But I also like that she was thinking of what would have been considered valuable. That’s such an interesting take on a success/money spell.
@duckie_reads ,Since my sense of smell is non existant...I would use my other senses ( sight, hearing, touch & taste) to help me tell that when a spell is going to work...
My russian friend told me that black magick is a big thing in Russia, and that they like to bury needles and nails under a persons doorstep to bring them misfortune. Just something that came to my mind, when I saw the nail-part of the video.
I love how you elaborated on the fact that witchcraft isn’t religious. I’m a Christian witch, but I don’t work with deity’s- it’s the same thing just a few different concepts! Thanks for spreading awareness🌿🍵

Hearth. Lirio ( the expirienced Witch in the Craft) explains to the girls that " the good or bad in magick is in the heart of the Witch."..ie intention... " Magick is neither black nor white...it's both...because nature is both ...loving and cruel at the same time...life keeps a balance on its own."
Nervously drinks water @ 57:20
Another great video Hearth! Always appreciate hearing your perspective on things 🤗
"you can't substitute water with coffee"
while me finishing a latte
There is a woman who only drinks coffee. No water for years.
I find it much more helpful than just saying here is the spell, follow it exactly with no explanation why.
Salem:We became the thing we try to destory-
I watched that particular Sky Life video about a year ago and was so glad I did.
Some might say it’s a bit cheesy but for me it’s an ultimate comfort show and in my opinion it shows real witchcraft in a really beautiful way 😊
If you eat donuts at midnight in a dark kitchen; there are no calories, you got that Fluffy. Lol Blessings!
I live in Massachusetts and still have yet to go to Salem! It’s only 2 hours from me and I’m also a newbie witch (I started when I was 15, but unfortunately my life took a different turn and I ended up in a very heavy heroin addiction. Now I’m a mom of 2 young boys and finding myself again)
I’ve been binging your videos and I’m leaning so much and have bought so many of the books you’ve recommended so thank you!
I love the fact that you add in your outtakes at the end. It humanizes the whole thing. I love your content I love your channel.
I love how they seperated satanist and witches! Made my day
Your makeup is fireee😍🔥
Have to admit, I am 50% here for the makeup. 😂
Love the part 19:09-19:45 great advice for any time you choose to donate/give.
It's one of my dream places to visit, my birthday is in October too.
@22:30, I am curious about your thoughts on free will and how that relates to baneful magick.
Your b roll at the end gave me life! Great video, you are so cute and your insistence on our hydration made me giggle like a child!
I love your content its helped me so much
Always love your videos! The knowledge and messages you bring to this community time-and-time again are so spot on and perfect.
Excellent! Thank you! Your sharing is kind and fun! Your eye make up is perfection too!
Came for the reaction. Stayed for the outtakes and tangents. Don't ever change.
Omg, the Loki trailer. June 9th can’t come soon enough. (And I really did appreciate the rest of the video, but I got so excited that you’re currently obsessed with something I’m also currently obsessed with, I had to comment, lol.)
Your outtakes portion is absolutely adorable 🥰 😊
I was sad watching Noel Miller rip this video up. :( But it's nice to see your reactions. I don't agree with everything either but I really liked seeing how open, loving, and accepting these people were. They wear their heart on their sleeves unapologetically. It's admirable!
Yay I've been waiting for this one 🤗and i was one of those who requested this 😇
Love to you all 💗
I legit just yelled when he held the charcoal disk in his hand. Flashbacks haha!
Also nice to see the Satanic Temple represented. While I am a polytheistic witch, I appreciate everything about the Satanic Temple and recently just joined myself
Edit:
"You're supposed to breath when you talk"
Me: SAYS WHO?!
Love all you videos. They all make so much sense and are full of real honest information and opinion.
GUUURL I was wondering if you'd do this!
Salem Witch Trials and The Inquisition were cancel culture amplified. Seems like humans have no ability to learn from history.
Religious and patriarchal authorities throughout history persecuting women and religious minorities isn’t really the same thing at all as modern day conservatives being held accountable for their own words and actions, but okay.
what do you do with the offering when "done"? or when say, and apple goes bad? coins after a time? I have donated coins from an altar.
I have the same question
I feel drawn to becoming a metallurgy witch, but there's very little info. out there. Where can I find useful information for blessing my creations.
I'm so glad I found you! I keep finding myself nodding aggressively at so many things you're saying :)
Lmao a “doctor crystal “ imma have to remember that one
I do the same thing, if I find it or see it, i use it! old jars, followers, rocks, nails
Everything has a purpose.
I loved this video and I love that SkyLife gets the word out in such an open minded and loving way to the "normies" :)
Your videos are always full of useful tidbits, like the thing about offerings: something valuable to you is a really potent offering.
I learned so much from this video. Thank you so much for doing all your videos!!!!
I click for the new content - but I stay for the blooper reel!
I love these types of videos!
What’s that flammable stuff they poured into the candle ?? Been wondering since the video was originally posted.
Great video! Thank you for all that you do, I really love your videos!
All the Satan/Dark One talk just really put me off.
please could you make a video on British dieties ?
Yesss so happy to hear your thoughts
The comment I left on their video was about the curse thing too. Curses are real, but free will still exists and no one can fully control you or override your free will, and you have the power to undo them. So what I agree with in Pixie's statement is that people can't control you, however I believe in curses.
edit: I didn't know what Vesta powder was and I NEED IT NOW, this is so good visually!!
Ooooo! I saw this video about salems satanists before! Thank you for reacting to it. Love your videos btw. Very objective material. :)
I want to go to Salem and take a tour and see everything! ❤ Loved this video Hearth ..wonderful job !
I have always been spiritual, love nature, love animals, the moonlight is memorizing to me and I especially love the darker months of the year.
personally, i’m atheist but i practice witchcraft and i strongly believe in astrology. this video is so fascinating and so informative, thank you!
Same💖
What are your opinions on spirits, mental constructs or actual creatures
Ty I did think this, but it has open my eyes and I understand now just a little more better.
I didn't realize Satanism used so much Wiccan practice. They kept saying they were atheistic, and then prayed to the god and goddess later
I noticed that and was confused. I was also wanting a little clarification on believing in spirits and leaving spiritual offerings as an atheist.
This is a great video! I appreciate that youre open to others ways.
People forget that “trial” sometimes refers to a great ordeal and not just a legal term.
At 11:57 there are these figures, not sure what they are. Does anyone know?
You could google Halloween bobbleheads and see if you find them.
Drink more water.....I see you, substituting coffee for water...*as I sip my coffee and look around for Hearth*
Can a mirror be used in a Return To Sender spell ?
Ive actually seen this video before but watching your reaction to it was fun. I have to say Thomas is awesome, I've been on one of his tours and he is one of the MOST knowledgeable tour guides in Salem and I'm looking forward to going on his new tour this June.😁
I go to Salem every year. I love it so much. It's so sad what they did too them.
I literally watch this video last night just randomly and it’s from seven months ago so strange I’m seeing yours now
Love the eye make up. And the hair. Honestly, I couldn't stop looking at it and thinking how great they both looked!!!
Raiding the fridge silently after midnight just makes the food taste better. That's just science.
