    I enjoyed seeing you use all these techniques in one composition (and a lovely composition it is). I especially liked the backwash under the vegetables.

    The delicate butterflies enhanced by the weight of the vegetables really tie everything together. I'm taking the day off because, apparently, it is Sunday 😊❤

      I am SOOO SORRY! This was meant to come out last Sunday but I am knee deep in projects + plus I just found out my kids camp ends early so my work days got cut short for the next month 😳 I will get back on track I promise! Next painting is already finished and I started releasing PATREON videos for it so TH-cam version coming on Sunday morning next week 😁💕🌶️

    Anna, I have just discovered your channel. I am amazed at how much I have learned from your tutorials. The way you explain each technique with concise demonstrations. The sound of your voice is calming and not rushed to explain the techniques you are using. I use Daniel Smith watercolor paints which helps me paint along with your tutorials. I do like to use some of their Primatek paints like Green Apatite Genuine.
    I will continue to watch your tutorials to learn new ways to make my artwork more appealing.

    I don’t think I’ve ever heard of the backwash effect but I really want to try it. I think that it would be a really cool way to make a more blurry line at the top of a landscape where the sky meets land so that the line isn’t so ridged.
    Thank you for showing us!

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much Patricia! I will keep it reasonable "crazy" hehe I just always get a bunch of criticism if I "extend" my palette too much and some folks get frustrated as it is harder to follow. I will keep the broccoli as is, but will need to reduce the number of reds and greens I used...otherwise its a bit too wild for a tutorial.

    A video about texture, yay! When the subject matter has texture I like to try and capture some of the texture into my artwork. I’m not skilled to paint hyper realistic art but I need texture in my artwork. Otherwise I feel as if my art looks flat, even cartoony. Thanks for sharing!

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Alison! "Mistakes" add so much character you are right:) Try 1-2 tubes to see if you are into super granulating. They are a lot of fund but expensive. I finally got 4 Schminke tubes for very specific projects {A bear! I will be painting a bear soon! } and I don't regret it at all but it was a long process to justify the price {also to be completely honest I just kept buying more reds because one can never have too many reds ahem :)))))

    Anna, thank you for all your time & Art, I've learned so much from you. Question; do you find that Qor colors & salt don't play all that well together? Mostly on hotpress I've had issues. I did do a test sheet with the 24 set (LOVE them) & some of the pigments reacted well, others not so much. I'm going to do one on regular cold press to see if that makes a difference. I loved this video. I'd love to see more on white objects/still lifes, the shadows if you get around to it. Again thank you. 😎🤗🥰

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Mary! I promise more "objects" coming up {mushrooms specifically with some intricate shadows:) To answer your question, I think QOR plays well with salt, at least the Dioxaine Purple and Quinacridones do fine... I don't own the full set, curious to know which ones didn't do well in your opinion. The hot pressed paper may be an issue as it is not really accepting of salt or granulating paints - the surface is too smooth in my experience to fully "collect" the particles of paint and reveal nice granulation / clusters. Let me know what you find with 2nd test on cold pressed. This is fascinating!

    When you have a big background to paint, do you wet the whole area or only portions of it at a time? Love your painting techniques. Those brushes are lovely. They hold a lovely point. What do you use please?

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Escoda Chronos and Reserva brushes {Link in the description}. For the background, I wet around the edges, then add paint closer to the subject. I have an entire class on this on my Patreon and on Skillshare:)

      You can try Fabriano Artistico. BUt generally I would save on brushes and paints and try not to compromise on paper for watercolor s it really really does make a difference in the final results.

    hi sister...can u name wht water colour brand that ur using ya...TIA

  • @1toshi32
    @1toshi32 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi again. I just watched another of your videos which is 3 years old where you did a review of Escoda Reserva (real Kolinski brush) and the Versatil (synthetic). I'm wondering if you have now changed your mind about those brushes, seeing you are using the Chronos in this video or do you find the Chronos better than the ones you reviewed back then.

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve always stuck with Escoda brand of of brushes for the most part, trying different types like Versatil and Reserva but on a look out for the best possible synthetic version (due to price and availability of sable). Last April 2022 they came out with Chronos and I was finally extremely happy about all aspects of a brush. It’s a split of 10a% real fur vs 90% synthetic, so the typical issues of water load and stiffness that are common to synthetics are solved. The price point is affordable and I haven’t stopped using them since then. I think it’s the perfect balance of price quality and ease of use from all the ones I’ve tried so far 😊

    • @1toshi32
      @1toshi32 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnnaBucciarelli Thank you so much for your reply. I have been using some fairly good brushes but I still find the points disappointing. I will definitely go with your suggestion and get the Chronos. I know your recommendation will be a great one because of you level of expertise. You make it look so easy though I know it's not. Again, thank you for your generous information to us mere mortals who aspire to your talents. 💝
