Someone probably already mentioned this, but the protagonist's name is known as Red because that's thenamed used in the manga. Green was the name of the rival, and Blue was the name of the female trainer who was cut from the game. In the English translation of the manga, Green and Blue had their names reversed so that the names of the protagonist and rival would match the colors of the English Pokemon games.

Gen 1: It's okay, but there are a lot of things that bug me. Mainly the shallow plot, the ugly-for-8-bit graphics and bugs, lots of bugs. Gen 2: This was great, improved designs, less bugs and an improved story, it also added a lot to the gameplay that I love. Not my favourite, but a blast to go back to. Gen 3: Utterly fantastic, music and graphics were stunning, but I think nostalgia is blinding me from giving it a proper analysis, since this was my first gen. Gen 4: Subracted a bit, but added a lot. Battle speed was sluggish, but I love the designs, plot and music. Another great installment. Gen 5: Beautiful graphical overhaul, deeper, darker plot and a lot of improvements to the gameplay. Also, Snivy, my favourite Starter'Mon and my favourite Pokémon design. Gen 6: FULL ANALOGUE MOVEMENT, DO I HAVE TO SAY MORE?! A bit too easy (thanks Mega Evolution) but the gameplay was solid and I had a blast with the Gen 3 remakes. I just wish that Gen 7 reintroduces character customisation, that feature was great, just a shame that it was an XY exclusive...
+NateSnivySmasher I always found the original 8 bit sprites of the pokemon to be badass looking. Many of them never looked as dynamic as they did back in the red and blue days
+NateSnivySmasher Gen 6 was pretty disappointing, took way too much inspiration from Gen 1, and just didn't have all that much going on, with lots of glitches/engine problems. That aside I agree with you, nice post. [For me, Gen 5 > 2 (bit of nostalgia bias) > 3 > 4 > 6 = 1]
+mickennxtre68 except gen VI is outrageously easy. pokemon games have been getting easier and easier (and its not cuz i've gotten older lol). the exp. share in gen VI is totally cheap and broken.
Hey John, if youre still wondering, Its mentioned in the recent special of Pokemon- The Origin special to why the character's name is Red. Upon choosing his first pokemon he explains that his father named him Red with the hope that he would grow into a man with the spirit of a red flame.
his name is red because his father wanted him to grow into a brave man with the passion of a red-hot fire. also, blues real name is green. and can someone explain to me why your starter determines how difficult the game is? i mean, you guys do realize you can get more pokemon of different types, right? you can get several different types within the first few minutes of the game. also, the reason those guards wont let you pass is because team rocket is invading saffron. finally, the prices on the drinks are not high at all. the in-game currency is japanese yen, not american dollars. lastly, you are able to get 2 of the 3 birds *before* getting all the badges. once you can surf, they're all yours.
in the english version: blue - boy rival. green - girl rival. japanese (original) version: blue - girl rival. green - boy rival. its all very confusing. i really dont understand why a dub company would switch the names of 2 characters. for everyone else i'll call them by their english names, but for blue and green, i'll stick to calling them by their japanese name. its less complicated that way.
i kinda stopped at the hoenn saga. now i have to read the entire series again to get back to where i was. im somewhere at johto right now but i forget which chapter, as i had it bookmarked on a school computer ... and i graduated... so its gonna take me a while to get back on track.
red was the name given to the protagnist from pokemon red, and many people in the fandom just liked it better than calling him red or green from their respective games. there is also a female protag that came into the re-release for the GBA that became know as green. Think of it as Red= ash, blue= Garry, and green would be some other female trainer.
Because of business. They have the new Ruby and Saphire. Not to mention its also the second party developer Game Freak that hasn't thought of adding the pokemon games to the eshop. But truthfully, pokemon is more of a title you best authentically on a handheld than the new 3ds that utilizies save states.
millieman76 Wouldn't it also be difficult to get some pokemons to trade if you had a particular team you liked using in 1st and 2nd gen should this ever come on E-shop? I know it's somewhat possible to beat this with a Kadabra or Haunter but you get my point?
Garnet Bezanson They said Pokemon games might never make it on the e-shop because they say that it wont be possible to trade between copies. The reason for that is because they say that trading is a major role with Pokemon and if you cant trade it just wouldn't be Pokemon anymore
14:23 It's stated in various manga and games that Erika has a sleeping disorder which is why she always seems "out of it". This isn't true in the anime where Erika is both a gym leader and a manager of a famous perfume shop. Even in the OVA Pokemon Origins, Erika has a blanket and pillow in her gym.
there were actually 190 Pokemon planned for generation 1 but it was changed to 151 because of the game boy's limitations and when you transfer a missing number to generation 2 they will register as a generation 2 Pokemon like Heracross
You can easily replace the backup battery in cartridges with a soldering iron and the right screwdriver bit. Most carts use a pretty common button cell battery. I replace these all the time, so much so it's probably my most common video game repair I perform for people.
In generation 1 at least you can feasible tick off every single Pokemon and complete the game within a few weeks. The latest Pokemon games are on the borderline of becoming bloody MMORPGs and trying to "Catch 'em all" just became a full-time job! I think that nostalgia goggles play a part in this, I was 18 when gen 1 Pokemon came out in America and that game helped me through the first year of my first job so I look back on it with fond memories. If you're younger you probably started with a different generation and EVERYONE will think that the generation they joined the franchise was the "best" because of nostalgia.
MMORPG: An online Role-Playing game where the main point of the game is teaming up with friends. Pokémon: An RPG where you can battle and trade different monsters (totalling 721) with friends to complete an encyclopaedia. All the while collecting badges, stopping an evil organisation and becoming the champion of a Pokémon tournament. See the difference?
I'm not entirely sure how I was first introduced to Pokémon. I remember some of my friends playing it in elementary school. Eventually, I think I told my grandmother I wanted it and she got eventually got me Red and Blue for my Game Boy. I played them a lot, though I never beat them. I also remember the first bit of Pokemon I saw on TV was that famous commercial with all the Pokémon going into a bus. Then the anime came along. The first episode I saw was the last few minutes of 'Who Gets to Keep Togepi.' At that time I thought Pokémon could talk, but then I hear Pikachu say it's name and that theory got thrown to the curb. Eventually my grandmother got me a series of vhs that had three episodes of pokemon on it (some had four) and that was my exposure to the show. I was surprised to see that they actually followed the pathway of the games. (though the pokemon looked much different). I also found it interesting that the main character was traveling with other people, more specifically, two gym leaders. The TV show became my afterschool ritual, being the first that I saw after coming home.
Mechanically, this game kinda sucks compared to the rest. But the Pokèmon, the region and the gym leaders are the best in the series in my opinion. Thats probably why I enjoy Fire Red/Leaf Green. Its Gen 1 with better mechanics.
There are a shit ton of glitches, but that's probably just because of the time it was made. Random things like Missingno, being able to catch Mew, Pokemon not using Struggle when they are out of moves, etc.
FR/LG were good, but people just like HG/SS more, since more pokemon and you can walk with them, and dont forget that you can go to kanto and fight red, and its one of the pokemon games where you can get legendaries from the first 3 generations, and with events, legendaries from gen 4, but yeah, have to agree with TrainerD.
Holy crap......the Internet didn't complain about your opinion. Just getting this out there but I like Gen 4 the most but that might be due to Platinum being my first Pokemon game. I do respect your opinion BTW.
I don't get all the people calling Gen 1 "The worst." In what terms? In a technical term, yes, they are the weakest, but really, is that how we're defining it? They were the first games and flaws and all created one of the largest cultural phenomena of the past 20 years and took handheld gaming to an entirely new level in terms of social interaction and amount of content. Yeah, the mechanics got better over time, but so did Super Mario games. Who is going to call the original Super Mario Bros. on the NES an awful game just because the mechanics improved over time? No one! (Well, unless they're a snob who doesn't care at all about historical context )
Vance B I don't thing Gen 1 is the worst but there is a difference between an early sidescroller and an early rpg RPGs are more complex therefore dissapointing if short and easy. Also the first gen mario practically created the genre (yes I know Jungle Hunt and Pitfall predate Super Mario Bros but Mario was the one that really made the genre to what it is) so is still fun today.
Vance B Oh lordy, this game can break so hard you can't even fathom it. Hell, ghost moves didn't even work on psychics! The speed stat determining crits wasn't quite a bright idea, the special stat was so broken (to the point where you needed chansey to sponge all special moves) and the less I say about glitch city/overflows the better. I wouldn't say it's bad but it it's like milk. Great to drink, but it ages so bad you never want to go back to it.
I know I’m a few days late for this comment, but I don’t care. Happy 10th Anniversary to this Video! This is the video that made me a subscriber to Somecallmejohnny.
You lost a chance to get the incredible rare and hands down one of the best pokemons in the game Chansey and the only thing you say is "fuck"? I'll give you that, you are a chill dude.
Psycho3418 You can find more Chanseys, it's not like the roaming legendaries from Gen 2. They're always in the same area and all it takes is a lot of walking around to find another one (and the luck required to catch it).
Let me clear something up, since I know a lot of people think it. "Pocket Monsters" is not a reference to anything sexual. See, in English "Monster" has come to be slang for "large." This isn't really true in other languages. Arabic, for instance, uses the word "beast" or "creature" (which can also sometimes mean "demon") for what we might call "monsters." The word is more a kind of linguistic relic for "strange creature." I've heard it might have something to do with Godzilla (Gojira) and other "Kaiju" movies but I'm not 100% on that. As for "pocket," that's from the expression "pocket pool," the meaning of which I'm sure you can guess. So no, it's just a strange coincidence that some people take that meaning.
'Pocket Monsters' was also going to be the English name, but was contracted into Pokémon because of the 'Monster in my Pocket' thing already being taken - Nintendo didn't want to be sued for potential damages caused by name confusion.
mmanifesto the dork Sometimes I wonder why there are still people out there who don't feel like utter idiots when they use the magnificently stupid word "weeaboo". _(And if it's a joke or a mistake is exactly what I asked, Einstein... you never know on TH-cam, there ARE people who think it's called "cockie".)_
Honestly my favorite Pokémon Gen is Gen 5 I just play the hell of Black version in my childhood I really enjoy it so much the Pokémons the music the journey the story there's so much I can say of Gen 5 it's so good and cool but I don't play that anymore.
I don't get people calling it "the worst." On what grounds? The fact that it got better over time? In terms of starting a gaming phenomena (still the best selling entries in the franchise) the titles were ground breaking. Of course they got better over time, but that's what any halfway respectable franchise should do.
thereefshark well the mechanics have been constantly been improved, the graphics have gotten better, so has the music, better Pokemon have been introduced, and gen 1 really didn't age well.
any one who says gen 1 is the worst is not a true fan now go play your shitty gen345 and acept the fact that gen 1 will always reign supreme DEAL WITH IT
AlexThat200 probably because many people just think he is better then every other possible pokemon, and probably because i prefer grass types over fire types.
Perfect Chaos Well fire types and #1 in my book, but I do like grass types as my 4th favorite and I wish they had a little more recognition. They are very useful for status effects making them perfect for strategy
I freaking love the original Pokémon games. I finally got all 151 Pokémon for the first time in my life a few days ago, and it feels so good! I think I'm going to go ahead and complete the Pokémon in Gold next, just for the fun of it.
Fun fact: Red and Blue's original names were Ninten and Sony (respectively). The Gen 1 rivalry is based on the rivalry between Nintendo and Sony (hence why Gary/Blue is such a butt).
Actually, it is. Development for the first games started after the formation of Game Freak in 1995. This was the year after Sony released their killer console: the Playstation. Needless to say, the rivalry was fresh in Nintendo's mind (especially after the failure of the Philips CDI). Previously, the name Ninten was used in the Mother series. You can look this stuff up.
I know this was made back when Black & White (5th gen) was still relatively new, but I'm pretty sure you know about this, but in the mini series Pokemon Origins, Red says his father gave him the name to help ignite the red hot fire inside of him. I believe. I can't quote it exactly but I know it was something along that line.
Ah, the excessive gambling. I always played it on the Super Gameboy, and hooked up a turbo controller. Wait a few hours and, badabing, you have all the coins you need. My favourite Pokémon in Sandshrew.
My first Pokémon game was Yellow edition... Well, that is before my "friend" stole it and my Gameboy color... Thank god for emulators... Hopefully he's having fun with my team of 6 fully evolved pidgeys with gust so power full it'll take down empire state building.
@@michaelrhett4958 no they arent frlg added new pokemons from gen 2 and 3 7 new islands 2 event islands double battles etc the game added so many things that it falls in the remake category Lets go is not a remake but its more like a reinterpratation of the game with new mechanics and also its a spin off even the devs said that
Gen 1 is my least favorite Gen. I've tried so hard to go back and play it, but there's absolutely no sane reason to, when FireRed and LeafGreen exist, and HeartGold and SoulSilver, which allows you to revisit Kanto with Pokemon available from 1 to 4. Really the only reason at all Gen 1 gets remotely as much love and praising as so many seem to give it, is nostalgia alone. There is pretty much no reason at all to take Gen 1 over it's remakes or really any of the other far more polished games in the whole series.
I love how when I pause an ad to reply to a message, TH-cam decides "oh you'll miss the continuity of this stupid taco commercial, so let's back it up about 5 seconds so you can get the FULL ad experience" *THANKS*

PA: I never went with butterfree. I always pick up nidoran male off of route 22 because of double kick. Get the moonstone from mnt. Moon, a d get nidoking and you just pressed the, “I win” button with the electric gym. Until the psychic gym humbles you.
0:58 Oh, you mean just like how often pokemon show up in the tall grass?
Soon to be former leader of team rocket ( pulls out gun )
Lol
***** I subbed because ur pic and reasons
*****
I said detracted. I probably meant SUBtracted.
Upon choosing his first pokemon he explains that his father named him Red with the hope that he would grow into a man with the spirit of a red flame.
his name is red because his father wanted him to grow into a brave man with the passion of a red-hot fire.
also, blues real name is green.
and can someone explain to me why your starter determines how difficult the game is?
i mean, you guys do realize you can get more pokemon of different types, right? you can get several different types within the first few minutes of the game.
also, the reason those guards wont let you pass is because team rocket is invading saffron.
finally, the prices on the drinks are not high at all. the in-game currency is japanese yen, not american dollars.
lastly, you are able to get 2 of the 3 birds *before* getting all the badges. once you can surf, they're all yours.
in the english version: blue - boy rival. green - girl rival.
japanese (original) version: blue - girl rival. green - boy rival.
its all very confusing. i really dont understand why a dub company would switch the names of 2 characters. for everyone else i'll call them by their english names, but for blue and green, i'll stick to calling them by their japanese name. its less complicated that way.
i love it to (although i never finished the entire series.)
i read the kanto saga several times though
i kinda stopped at the hoenn saga. now i have to read the entire series again to get back to where i was. im somewhere at johto right now but i forget which chapter, as i had it bookmarked on a school computer ... and i graduated... so its gonna take me a while to get back on track.
***** I only read The Electric Tale of Pikachu. Greatest library rent ever.
teamnoah111 TETOP ash > anime ash.
Take a shot everytime someone comments "Gen 1 sucks" or "Gen 1 is best"
ManaphyGames it doesn't suck but it's not the best
And the autopsy says.... alcohol poisoning.
I love how watching this in the playlist it transitions from a cool samus animation right into the intro of this, it looked quite seamless to me xD
Here from the Pokémon Let’s Go Review
Same bro. Or continuing on my somecallmejohnny binge thon
red was the name given to the protagnist from pokemon red, and many people in the fandom just liked it better than calling him red or green from their respective games. there is also a female protag that came into the re-release for the GBA that became know as green. Think of it as Red= ash, blue= Garry, and green would be some other female trainer.
Happy 10th Anniversary to your first Pokemon video!
Why the hell aren't these games on the 3ds eshop?
cause of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason for that is because they say that trading is a major role with Pokemon and if you cant trade it just wouldn't be Pokemon anymore
millieman76 What? Are you saying that Pokemon doesn't use save states? Are you dumb?
14:23 It's stated in various manga and games that Erika has a sleeping disorder which is why she always seems "out of it". This isn't true in the anime where Erika is both a gym leader and a manager of a famous perfume shop. Even in the OVA Pokemon Origins, Erika has a blanket and pillow in her gym.
I have a sleep disorder. It doesn't make people tired all the time. It just means you can't really sleep normally. I get about two hours a day myself.
there were actually 190 Pokemon planned for generation 1 but it was changed to 151 because of the game boy's limitations and when you transfer a missing number to generation 2 they will register as a generation 2 Pokemon like Heracross
"*BECAUSE IT'S GOD DAMN CUTE*"
dat phrase tho
A simple RPG for it's time, but little did Nintendo know it would become their third biggest franchise behind Mario and Zelda.
You can easily replace the backup battery in cartridges with a soldering iron and the right screwdriver bit.
Most carts use a pretty common button cell battery. I replace these all the time, so much so it's probably my most common video game repair I perform for people.
Hey Johnny I hope you can reconsider welcoming Pokemon back to your life especially with Pokemon's 20th anniversary
YES!
That well most likely happen after mother and starfox
Trevor Kovacs hopefully
He said he would review gen 4, 10 years after his gen 2 review.
+Edward Wisniewski gen5
this was, to my recollection, the very last "month of" johnny ever did
Yeah I think it is now that you say that
Everything else is a marathon, huh?
***** o.o theres 721 pokemon? WAT
***** I think he's just referencing the amount of time required to get the 100% completion rate.
Minecast Zyad48
There are 718 available Pokemon, but there are three secret ones you can get with cheats.
***** dayum
I have to say this generation hasn't aged well. The balancing is horrible and it's extremely bare bones.
And Wrap makes me want to kill myself
Albert Wily Bind, Wrap, AND Fire Spin. Oh, and don't forget Rage.
Albert Wily In Gen One you couldn't attack for a few turns when someone used Wrap on you, right? I can't really remember, it's been a while.
Icy Angels yes, wrap, bind, and fire spin.
oh and if you use Rage, the Pokemon doesn't stop till it's either switched or it faints.
I think Generation 1 has aged well outside the competitive aspect. Red, Blue, and Yellow, are still a blast to play.
What about a new Pokemon marathon where you review the main games of Gens 3 - 6?
Might get repetitive, but would still be nice.
Yeah, all the games are the exact same thing though, so it probably would be rather short.
Jackson Holder WISH GRANTED MY FRIEND!
Venusaur FTW Baby!!! 'whoop loudly'
Mechanically, this game kinda sucks compared to the rest. But the Pokèmon, the region and the gym leaders are the best in the series in my opinion. Thats probably why I enjoy Fire Red/Leaf Green. Its Gen 1 with better mechanics.
This is precisely my feelings.
You could give it some slack. Considering its the first in the franchise, there were gonna be some rough edges. But yeah. It does feel a bit crappy
There are a shit ton of glitches, but that's probably just because of the time it was made. Random things like Missingno, being able to catch Mew, Pokemon not using Struggle when they are out of moves, etc.
Nerdy George Washington did other games of the era have lots of glitches?
I have crippling depression yep. But thanks to internet, they can be fixed instantly unlike then
How come people always talk about heart gold and soul silver but never about fire red and leaf green?
firered = my childhood
Because FR/LG are just the same with updated graphics. Still fun tho.
TrainerD no, FR/LG were completely different based on game mechanics alone
FR for 7 years for me. No other pokemon game except that....till X in 2013.
Gen 1 is one of my favorite generations
Here comes the flame war.
If you want to start a flame war never say "Here comes the flame war" cause then people will know you're trolling
Genwunner alert!
Holy crap......the Internet didn't complain about your opinion.
Just getting this out there but I like Gen 4 the most but that might be due to Platinum being my first Pokemon game. I do respect your opinion BTW.
Ok, the flame war won't start if you say Gen 1 is the best, and only ever played Gen 1.
What's wrong with generation one being your favorite?
Gotta love that comment about Pikachu... "Why? BECAUSE IT'S SO GODDAMN CUTE!!!" XD
We are currently at gen 8, feel old yet! 😁
It's because they're HIP AND RADICAL with their TOTALLY UNIQUE AND NON-MAINSTREAM OPINIONS,DUUUUUDE!!!
While Gen 1 is an okay game by itself, its the worst compared to the games that came after.
Vance B
I don't thing Gen 1 is the worst but there is a difference between an early sidescroller and an early rpg
RPGs are more complex therefore dissapointing if short and easy. Also the first gen mario practically created the genre (yes I know Jungle Hunt and Pitfall predate Super Mario Bros but Mario was the one that really made the genre to what it is) so is still fun today.
Vance B
Oh lordy, this game can break so hard you can't even fathom it.
Get over it
I know I’m a few days late for this comment, but I don’t care.
You seem to have spent a good time investigating so here have a cockiee
mmanifesto the dork Did you seriously just offer him a cockie? Was that on purpose?
Sometimes i wonder if weeabos have a sense of sarcasm or humor
mmanifesto the dork Sometimes I wonder why there are still people out there who don't feel like utter idiots when they use the magnificently stupid word "weeaboo".
_(And if it's a joke or a mistake is exactly what I asked, Einstein... you never know on TH-cam, there ARE people who think it's called "cockie".)_
What is the song that starts playing at 16:46 ? It's a remix obviously, but I can't remember the name of the original
Red got his name from the Pokemon adventure manga series
I guess the question was more "Why is he named after a colour?".
Honestly my favorite Pokémon Gen is Gen 5 I just play the hell of Black version in my childhood I really enjoy it so much the Pokémons the music the journey the story there's so much I can say of Gen 5 it's so good and cool but I don't play that anymore.
Will you play a remake if they ever make one?
Gustav Ferreira well I did play Gen 1 2 and 3 remakes so yeah of course I would.
Do you buy both versions or just one?
Sabrina hates violence. Is a gym leader and has a whip and yellow’s jigglypuff is much more nightmarish because of those eyes
Although the worst generation of Pokemon, it should be the most respected. It started it all.
I don't get people calling it "the worst." On what grounds? The fact that it got better over time? In terms of starting a gaming phenomena (still the best selling entries in the franchise) the titles were ground breaking. Of course they got better over time, but that's what any halfway respectable franchise should do.
well if the 1st game is the worst in the series that is only a good thing for the series because it means they make better sequels
thereefshark well the mechanics have been constantly been improved, the graphics have gotten better, so has the music, better Pokemon have been introduced, and gen 1 really didn't age well.
any one who says gen 1 is the worst is not a true fan now go play your shitty gen345 and acept the fact that gen 1 will always reign supreme DEAL WITH IT
jak dean obvious troll is obvious
4:10 yes I feel old Holy shit
I'm going to be hanged for this, but screw it; I hate charizard.
FAWFUL'S MINION RIPPOF!!!111111111111
Ner0mancer I do watch his videos.
Is there any particular reason?
AlexThat200 probably because many people just think he is better then every other possible pokemon, and probably because i prefer grass types over fire types.
Perfect Chaos
Well fire types and #1 in my book, but I do like grass types as my 4th favorite and I wish they had a little more recognition.
Fun fact:
Red and Blue's original names were Ninten and Sony (respectively). The Gen 1 rivalry is based on the rivalry between Nintendo and Sony (hence why Gary/Blue is such a butt).
Peter Campi That... doesn't sound legitimate.
Peter Campi Game freak was around before then
pokemon gen one was the worst, but it was still good
Pokemon was the best and worst of all this series. The best because it was the first other that ummm.... :D
Firered and Leafgreen is an better version of Gen. 1.
I know this was made back when Black & White (5th gen) was still relatively new, but I'm pretty sure you know about this, but in the mini series Pokemon Origins, Red says his father gave him the name to help ignite the red hot fire inside of him. I believe. I can't quote it exactly but I know it was something along that line.
he chose bulbasaur... well this video is getting a like just for that
POKEMONth
Missed opportunity there.
+megamarsonic For what?
To call the marathon POKEMONth.
megamarsonic I... don't get it.
... your loss!!! *knocks everything over in frustration before storming off*
0:17 Chuckles in Final Fantasy.
You would actually need three copies to get all starters.
Trade pokemon from cart 2 to 1. Start new game on cart 2. Trade other starter to cart 1.
True.
Faltrazz
or buy yellow.
Articuno Forever For starters yes but not getting everything.
Faltrazz Not like your getting everything from two copies of Red or Blue (not both)
Ah, the excessive gambling.
I always played it on the Super Gameboy, and hooked up a turbo controller. Wait a few hours and, badabing, you have all the coins you need.
My favourite Pokémon in Sandshrew.
Mine is too.
DestronTC srsly? so is mine. It's so cute
I like him because he was one of my team in gen 1, and because of an early episode of the anime he was a big character in.
Sandshrew was my favorite pokemon in Gen 1.
A just bough the coins... and became compleately broke
4:22 Has anyone noticed how the accents in 'em are the other way round in the opposite picture... :!
who's ready for gen 7
so ready :)
hell yeah
Aaron Garcia
what
I played the demo. LOL it's so bad.
My first Pokémon game was Yellow edition... Well, that is before my "friend" stole it and my Gameboy color... Thank god for emulators... Hopefully he's having fun with my team of 6 fully evolved pidgeys with gust so power full it'll take down empire state building.
Same happened to me, difference being that in my case they were cards
11:22 wow I just realized Misty uses that pose to megaevolve her gyrados in her battle against in Ash in Sun & Moon. Cool easteregg.
Gen 1 has aged HORRIBLY!, the later Gen's fixed EVERYTHING and made it great.
Duaop Gaming True but you could say the same for every game of that time. For the time, that game was revolutionary.
Gen 4 and 5 are the best, though.
Dean Domino Gen 2 and 5 are the best
17:05 You can also see missing no. in the pokedex toys. Specifically generation 4.
I prefer the port on the GBA
Gamer Ninetyfive its not a port it is a remake
joão vitor no, Let’s Go Eevee and pikachu are remakes. HUGE remakes. FRLG were basically remasters. Like the N sane trilogy for crash
@@michaelrhett4958 no they arent frlg added new pokemons from gen 2 and 3 7 new islands 2 event islands double battles etc the game added so many things that it falls in the remake category
Lets go is not a remake but its more like a reinterpratation of the game with new mechanics and also its a spin off even the devs said that
joão vitor so basically a remake
They added gens 2-3 Pokémon POST GAME! Not in the main game.
“...and thirsty gatekeepers block the other route”
Oh boy I can hear the anime misunderstandings rolling in...
7:13 now i want a pokemon themed game where you can have all your pokemon on you as an army.
Name of song at 3:15 plz
If I remember correctly, I believe this is song that plays when you ask the guy in Pewter City for a tour, and he explains the gym and the museum. In Pokémon Leaf Green/Fire Red, it’s called “Guidance”. I’m going to look up what it’s called in the anime.
Can we have a 10 hour video with "POKEMON! LOTS AND LOTS OF POKEMON!"
Seeing Erica flat out fall asleep on you in the Let’s Go games just drives home the fact that she’s a pothead. Just got the job and does it so well she can just bumble around high
man... i can just work, hear this review and remember my childhood !
4:09 looking back at it now. We are on generation 9!!!! Oh my I'm old 😅
