I’d argue that Fire Red and Leaf Green were remakes of Red Blue and Green while let’s go Pikachu and Eevee were remakes of Yellow. The let’s go series has so many similarities to yellow with a lot added, including the fact you can get Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle from the same trainers you can in the original game.
Poketubers don't understand newer games can be a fan's first entry into the series. I'm sure there are kids out there that appreciated the help system.
Let’s go pikachu & Eevee are remakes of yellow not red and green . Pokemon fire red and leaf Green are direct remakes to the OG red and blue . I actually had the most fun playing the let’s go pikachu and Eevee Version . Mind you that could be recency bias as it’s been ages since I played fire red and leaf green !
@@GrandpaMaxGaming These aren’t souls game where you literally have to get brainf’d to figure out where to go. Pokemon fr/lg had the best help system. They limited the area until you progressed the main mission, until then just roam around for a “little bit” to figure out where to go and progress the story. I was prolly 9 when I first played fire red. Literally had no trouble, believe it or not I went through the tunnel without flash in my first playthrough. These important but hidden items were the only issues I had. Plus because of the area being limited and relatively small to other games you’ll intentionally search every houses cuz there’s not a lot. Unlike emerald fr is pretty small. And only times u’ll find the directions being difficult is at the post game. In let’s go pika you are feeded with every single thing. You’re just not seeing his point cuz you like let’s go pikachu more.
Evoluting pokemon back then: level up your pokemon to a certain level Evolving pokemon nowadays: have a Gastly on your team on a foggy route while having 2 rare candies in your bag on a Wednesday afternoon
The worst ones are: Hold the DS/3DS upside down while leveling up, get 4 critical hits in a row, lose 49 HP and then travel under a stone bridge, raise Feebas' Beauty stat to at least 170 out of 200 (and you can't reset its stats, in case you don't get it high enough), defeat three Bisharps that lead a group of Pawniards, take 1000 steps using the Let's Go feature, use Rage Punch 20 times (until your Primeape literally dies of a heart attack,) and so on. And I thought needing to have perfectly balanced Attack and Defense stats is gen 2 to get Hitmontop was a huge pain in the ass...
@@MarvinPowell1I liked flipping your handheld upside down or shaking your pokemon to get an Alcremie. And I KIND of like how you really have to take the ugly duckling that is feebas and then take it on this journey to make it beautiful. Gen 3 berries kinda hurt to get and blend tho
@@RenSako Hitmontop was solely on RNG. The others are solely on the player. Try the friendship level up on the Eevee you get from Bill in Gen 2 and find out that it's a level 42 Eevee still until you get into Kanto, get the Rare Candy from the fan club president in Vermillion, go to Cerulean, fight the trainers on Route 25, and then use the Rare Candy to get the Protein on said route to get an Umbreon, when you really wanted Espeon because the in-game clock mimics the IRL clock except on daylight savings event twice per year. Yes, I even beat the Elite Four while having a Dunsparce, Stantler, Ampharos, Feraligatr, and Lugia on my team with that same Eevee which was my second most powerful monster behind Lugia, who's now a level 46/47. The others are now getting in to the low 40s. It's worst in Red and Blue with Dratini being a super low level in the Safari Zone and to have a Dragonite is level 55. I'm still not there yet since the highest level in Victory Road is in the high 30s I believe.
I’m positive the help menu has which types are physical or special. Although I will say, 0 kids have ever learned anything about the game by reading tutorial text so that’s a mute point I guess.
Let's go may be a babysitting simulator, but if there's one thing I've thoroughly enjoyed in the game, it is the soundtrack. The orchestral style still maintains the chiptune charm of the original. Love it to bits.
@@haroldnecmann7040 i didn't really know if i I would like it or not when i bought it (was the first game on switch so the hype was real lol), and honestly the go style mechanics were refreshing for some time, with the soundtrack being a pleasant surprise. That being said I do agree that the soundtrack alone is definitely not worth paying the full price.
I actually didn't even know that the Flash HM existed at first, so I ended up memorising the entire layout of Rock Tunnel instead. By the time I realised that the HM was a thing, I didn't need it anymore, since I could easily make my way through the cave without it. 😅
i gotta say, i was disappointed every time they did not add mt silver to a kanto remake. it wouldve made for a cool addition after the league, seeing as you play red in frlg and he is encountered there in gsc/hgss. also, in the johto games mt silver is a shared landmark between johto and kanto.
Not One and the Same That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins. -John 8:24 According to the Bible, there will be a belief system during the tribulation period that everyone in the world will embrace. This, of course, will exclude those who come to faith in Christ during the Great Tribulation. Though the church will have been raptured, God will continue to be at work. People will become Christians during this time, but it will be a bleak scenario. God will raise up His representatives, two powerful witnesses. He also will send angels through the heavens who will proclaim the everlasting gospel. And He will raise up 144,000 messianic Jews to take the gospel around the globe. People will come to faith, but it will be a very hard time to be a Christian, and many believers will be martyred. And the one-world religious system that most people will buy into perhaps will be a version of the spirituality movement that we’re seeing today. For instance, in the days following 9/11, a lot of prayer services took place, including a televised interfaith service at Yankee Stadium. Bette Midler sang, and Oprah Winfrey, among others, spoke. To some degree, it’s great when we can get together and find what we agree on. And everyone should have the liberty to worship as they please. But we also must be aware that interfaith prayer services aren’t necessarily a good thing. It’s one thing to have interdenominational services in which Christians set aside minor differences as denominations to come together and worship. Harvest evangelistic events, for example, are interdenominational. We get together to proclaim the gospel and worship Jesus Christ. But interfaith services are a different matter altogether. We misrepresent and even insult God when we claim that all religions teach the same thing and that we’re all praying to the same God. Jesus said, “Unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24). He was referring to the statement God made when He spoke to Moses from the burning bush (see Exodus 3:14) Here’s what Jesus was saying: “I am equal with God. Unless you believe that I am God incarnate, that I am the Lord God, and that I am the only way to God, then you will die in your sins.” The Bible teaches that Jesus was God in human form who died for the sins of the world. It teaches that Jesus is the only way to God, that God is personal, and that He can be known in a personal way. If we’re going to proclaim the true gospel, then we must tell people this. It’s a divisive point with some. But it is one thing that we cannot compromise on as Christians. Yet if we believe that all religions teach the same thing, then we obviously haven’t considered what they actually teach. Today many people say they don’t really believe in any one religion, and they’ve found their own faith. My best favorite thing about the entire series is how true they are sticking to the “Pocket” part in “Pocket monsters,” every mainline pokemon game has been on a handheld nintendo console, all the home consoles that nintendo had didnt really have any mainline pokemon games, just spinoffs or other types

? The pocket part just means you can carry the pokemon with you in your pocket in their pokeballs. Also the Switch is a mainline console with two main games.
Likewise. I remember getting the Deoxys event through an official Nintendo appearance in my city, I believe through the wireless function? It was really cool. And nowadays, everything is wireless. People I know often say technology hasn't changed much in recent history, but just the fact that everything is wireless now disproves that.

Alright so the only thing i heavily disagree is the inclusion of the help menu in FR/LG. You see I love when a game actually explains mechanics and lingo using an in-game menu like a book or anything. It's completely optional and while it explains some obvious stuff, it's harmless at best because it's not obligatory. This is much better than alt-tabbing or looking at your phone on a wiki because the game refuses to explains some of its mechanics Also the biggest sin of the Let's Go games is not having Mew under the truck near the S.S Anne. That would've been a hell of a callback to one of gaming's most infamous playground stories
One of the best things in frlg was the vs seeker. You could grind really quick. And get money for doing it so the game corner tms were much easier to get
@@cliswpI always did the 6 bikers at the top of cycling road early on, never tried those trainers. If I replay FRLG sometime, I'll give them a look-see.

I still have my Pokémon Blue that my mom bought me 26 years ago. I was 5 and saw it at FuncoLand (now GameStop) and begged her for it. I still play Pokémon now in my 30s and it’s still one of my favorite game franchises.
Interesting thing about FRLG is even though dark types exist in gen 3, none are in the OG 151 so they effectively don’t exist. Still some dark type moves but no mons.

Personally I loved the Teachy TV. By the time I had gotten my copy of Leaf Green I think I had already played Blue, Yellow, Ruby, and Colosseum. I knew Pokemon stuff. But it was still nice getting really in-depth explanations of stuff. I wonder now how much of my knowledge of the games was learned naturally or through that. I would rather have it and not need it, but I'm also a sucker for long drawn out explanations within the games themselves, especially when they're not forced onto the player.

I think since they included the Alolan variants of pokémon in Let's Go they might aswell have included the later gen evolutions such as Scizor, Umbreon and so on. I also really missed having abilities, more so then held items. I mean Mega Zard Y without Drought is kind of odd. I did really enjoy the game though, to me it felt more like a remake of Yellow rather than Red/Blue.
that's because it was a remake of Yellow. even the starters are the same! moreover, i thought it was wise to ditch held items and abilities for Let's Go, give the scope of games. they were for people new to the franchise who wanted a fun and easy place to begin. plus, it's super in-line with the OG gen 1 mechanics: just moves and battle items. it was a clever way to simplify battle mechanics while still anchoring the remakes to their source

Awesome video. I’ve gotta say though, it’s so interesting to me to hear Let’s Go Pikachu described as “baby easy” and not a good introduction for new players. Because I’m 38 years old, and it was the first Pokémon game I ever played. I LOVED it, and it got me into the series. I’ve since played several of the older games, so I understand the criticisms, but for me, Let’s Go Pikachu was a lot of fun and was extremely intriguing. It got me hooked on the series instantly. And no, it’s not a hard game by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s not so easy that I felt like I was being handheld either. It’s just a fun, maybe slightly more casual experience. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
Loved this video!!! HOWEVER, I have the perfect perspective on how to compare these games. I was 9 when Pokemon Blue/Red came out. Brick Gameboy with 4 AA batteries. I spent months beating that game. I was dumb enough to use my master ball on a HORSEA! The fact that there was a video game you could hold in your hand gave you the motivation to beat it. A game in your hand that you could save and pick back up on was insane at that time. We talked to every NPC and checked every corner of the game because we didn’t have TH-cam, we didn’t have the internet widely available and certainly there weren’t sites available for kids to look up stuff. ANYHOW, fast forward to this year. My 8 year old has a cell phone (Hold your comments) and plays Pokémon go with me. The concept of the enclosing circle on Pokémon go to then play Let’s Go Pikachu was huge. Kids today have to have the immediate satisfaction. You have to hand hold them else they lose interest. Complain and gripe all we want but that’s the way it is. They can look up a full fledge movie in seconds and we had to plan and set the VCR at a certain time to record a tv show. Times are different. Kids are different. There’s no way in hell I could get my son to play my old Red and blue versions without my help every step of the way. But with Let’s Go Pikachu. He’s gotten 3 gym badges with minimal help. Other than a reminder to level up his Pokémon (Which we all hated that grind) he does everything the game pushes him towards. Anyhow. This was very fun. Loved the video. I get to love/hate buying Pokémon cards for an 8 year old the way my parents did when I was 9 and it came to America. Really fun to see all this come full circle.
I don't want to be that guy, but kids don't NEED instant gratification, we just life in a society that highly encourages that...if we just concede that kids are dumber now and need instant dopamine hits, we're just accepting that society is in a downward spiral...okay, rant over lol.
When I was a kid, I played fire red as my first game and never playing regular red version really kind of screwed me because I had no idea about having to have tea to get into saffron so i just trained my team for when i was allowed in , then i learned about the tea …..so I went into the saffron after finally realizing that ….with a team full of nothing but level 70s and a 80
That was me with Pokemon Gold. Somehow, I never noticed the house next to the gym, and never talked to the lady inside. And was stuck in the towns beforehand to figure out what to do. Honestly it wasn't the worst fate. I leveled up some weak/cool looking Pokemon, I experimented with the daycare/breeding, I did the Kenya quest, I checked out Kurt's balls, and I got the Rock Smash TM I missed previously! By the time I found my way out, I wasn't annoyed, just excited! Because then I had a team of slightly overleveled (level 45 ish) Pokemon that I genuinely loved. And had the whole rest of the region to explore with them! I clearly remember taking on Pryce with my Machoke and Feraligatr not long after, and having an amazing time :) But! Ofc. I hit another road block. When I hit the E4 my game wouldn't save properly, so I couldn't enter Kanto. And one fateful day I dropped my GBC, aaaaaand corrupted my save file. I still don't think I've fully gotten over that
19:33 i disagree that the level curve is bad it's the league your last challenge with the 5 strongest trainers in kanto if anything it makes sense that you are slightly underleveled and if you wanna win you have to give it your all
Level also matters a lot less later on when you stop learning moves/evolve, especially in the case of mainline games since the EVs you naturally accumulate should probably still put you at around the same range for stats, if not much higher
I'm still level grinding at the endgame instead of going in headstrong with low to mid level 40 Pokemon. I'm aiming for Level 55 because of the Dragonite I'm gonna have. I never changed my team until I hit the Safari Zone, so all I had until then was Blastoise, Pidgeot, Raticate, Sandslash, and Gyarados. I don't remember my last member since I doubt I used it a lot, or I never had a last member to begin with. I now have a team of Blastoise, Pidgeot, Sandslash, Dragonite, Gyarados, and Exeggutor. I even have the EXP. All in my Blue copy.

It’s a divisive point with some. But it is one thing that we cannot compromise on as Christians. @@korkis88 I’ve actually always felt that BW and BW2 were the worst looking Pokémon games we’ve had. The movement on the sprites makes them look muddy and just…..very low quality.
fire red and leaf green were basically made to reintroduce pokémon to a new and younger audience, since pokemania was dead by the time ruby and sapphire released, and the gen 3 games somewhat undersold in comparison to gsc/rby. that’s pretty much the reason why the tutorial menu and the teachy tv exists lol.
Wouldn't call 16+million sales "dead". Wouldn't call the best selling game on GBA "dead", either. Black and White(Gen V) being the worst selling games to date, well after Gen 3. It has a tutorial because for some it was their introduction/first Pokemon game. They made the remakes so that you could trade between newer versions of games/hw (else you couldn't have a complete living dex) Try again.
Giovanni being at 50 and Blue being at 65 makes sense since you should be at or a little above Giovanni's level, especially considering Sabriba was also at 50. You should be around 52 fighting Giovanni and then around 59 fighting Blue. So you either have to grind to fight Blue, or be more creative.
Let's Go was dumbed down for the children because it was based off of Pokemon Go, which has TONS of casual masses and children playing it, and they lowered the age requirement from E10+ to E 3+, so they had to remove complicated mechanics in order for ESRB to rate it as low as Nintendo wanted them to. Sword and Shield is a main series game that went back to E10+ which is why those complicated mechanics came back into play.

I'm kind of surprised by the complaints about the help system and Teachy TV. The TV would have involved far more coding and polish so I can see that it might have been scrapped and one of the less impressive islands could have gotten some more love or something. On the other hand, the LR help menu was probably very easy to make and implement since it's just a static text-based menu. It helped me round out my knowledge of the type chart, and helped me learns which types corresponded to regular or special stats. The stuff beyond that is a bit more basic, but I think it really accomplishes it's goal. The Help menu is there to make sure you know the mechanics of the game, and the hidden key items, HMs, and progression paths are your responsibility to uncover. It makes sure you're equipped without taking the experience out of your hands. And on top of all that, you don't need to use it, and the button mapping can be turned off so you don't accidentally annoy yourself with it. I highly prefer this help menu, which corresponds to unused buttons, when it's compared to an endless string of aggressively chipper elementary school dialogue half-explaining the same concepts.
Let's go Pikachu was a heartbreak. I would have love an option to play it in the classic style as well as the new style. I hated not having to weaken the Pokémon first.. and catching 90 of the same Pokémon over and over.. ugh! Killer on the OCD lol none the less I played the heck out of it for nostalgia. I'd love another remake with what they are doing now with the open world.. maybe too small but connect it with the next generation and make the game way bigger... I mean... the ultimate dream is to have an open world remake that was built to follow Ash's entire journey. First generation through whatever generation he's on now after going on 40 years lol
My best friend introduced to me Pokemon. He gave me Pokemon Red on a floppy disk. I sneaked it on to my dads computer. Booted for the first time and chose Squirtle. ☺
We should have had the Sevii Islands. Make the first 3 the same as in FRLG where you access them after Blaine and if they don't want to include the Johto Pokemon then just make it so the postgame ones are how you get wild Alolan Pokemon.
It's funny, I remember the ads saying that Let's Go wasn't so much for kids... as it was made for Let's Go players. As most of the Go fans have probably never played a main game.
I'm not gonna lie, LGPE has hit the point where it's my relax and chill game. I started with Ruby but LeafGreen was my 2nd game so I still feel like I kinda identify as a Genwunner, I always loved playing Kanto remakes and I also did go back and buy the Gen 1 games back when they were like $10 each on eBay in the mid 2000s so I've had more than my fair share of Kanto but it's just such a nostalgic experience that I don't mind replaying it every couple years. I find it easier to replay it vs. the Gen 1 or 3 Kanto games just because it's on the newest console, I can play it on my TV, the graphics are amazing and there's plenty of QoL features. Ridable Pokemon, easy Shiny hunting, the nature foreteller lady, bottle caps, and so much more make LGPE an easy game to play.
@@omegamanGXE LGPE doesn’t have Masuda method or even any egg hatching for that matter so they had to make another effective way to shiny hunt and that method is catch combo chaining. It’s just a simple and direct way to shiny hunt that isn’t convoluted at all. Plus the shinies are so gorgeous in LGPE’s graphics. That’s another thing that makes the shiny hunting on that game so fun.
I seriously can't understand why it was necessary to so thoroughly disney-fy the rival character. Gen II was literally both the second *and last* time you actually have a 'rival.' Every subsequent game just had some dopey semi-sidekick who's just your friend who you, for some reason, feel the need to crush in battles over and over again throughout the game. Why? Kids aren't able to handle an actual rival now? Even as G-rated as they were? The difficulty argument is a separate issue and I can at least see both sides of it, even if kids today have infinitely more resources to help them figure out how to progress than we did with RBY and we all somehow managed just fine, but Pokemon's story and characters were always perfectly kid-friendly. Why did they need so much dumbing down?
Silver wasn’t even that good of a character IMO. His arc is cool, but predictable, and his one note “mean” personality would’ve gotten very annoying if they continued making rivals like him. I even prefer some of the “nice” rivals, specifically Cheren and Bianca, over someone like Silver.
Gen 1 was definitely one of those experiences, to me personally, that was like a puzzle similar to when I played Gen 2 in Japanese and had no idea WTF the language was but it was pretty damn accomplishing at age 7 or 8 that I was able to master it; though in hindsight they were very simple games that does not take much to conquer. lol
Thanks for these videos. Not all of us 90s kids got to play all iterations going through adult life, and having a chance now I'm glad there are avid fans of the series making these videos I don't have the time to make. On that note, in some of your vids you made references to the N64. Can you imagine playing Blue version as your first RPG, then getting an N64 for Christmas and playing Ocarina of Time? The graphics where amazing, granted it's handheld vs. console but as a child I could only fantasize about Pokemon with Ocarina of Time 3D graphics. After watching the first Pokemon movies in theaters and crying my 12 year old eyeballs out, I got Pokemon Colosseum which was such a disappointment despite being able to see my Gen 1 squad in 3D, it wasn't a real game adventure. Graphics on Consoles and even handhelds improved exponentially the following decade before peaking at the PS4 generation. Still no 3D pokemon...Ocarina of Time had a gorgeous remake in the 3DS, which I never owned growing out of handhelds as a big boy with real consoles and PC builds by then. Yet, the first 3D pokemon looked like ass, inferior to 1996's Ocarina of Time full of ALIASING and cell shading cop outs. I played BOTW on the Wii U I had bought just for BOTW. I had no use for the Switch my sis gave me for Xmas...then I saw Let's Go which I thought was a spin off for kids like Pokemon Snap. Wow, my 1996 childhood dream FINALLY realized in 2018! You know how I'm right? Because as I googled "first 3D pokemon game" for this comment and all the images used for the articles or YT thumbs were from Let's Go. Don't get me wrong, GameFreak is still a victim of success in this game, never having to be bought out or restructured the way Tomb Raider benefited after the Angel of Darkness flop, GameFreak didn't have to improve and their attempts at modern 3D games is pathetic. Yet despite the crappy animation and still using Cell Shading cop outs, it was a 3D experience of the First Gen games after getting cheated with Colosseum. IT FUCKING LOOKS BETTER THAN ARCEUS. I just wanted to include that to this discourse.
I absolutely LOVED Lets Go. Riding Pokemon was absolutely epic. Seeing Kanto so beautiful was an amazing experience. I caught my first ever shiny, a caterpie in Viridian Forest. Best Pokemon experience ive had
I hadn't paid any attention tot he Lets Go games, so I had no idea they were re-remakes of Gen 1. Well whaddaya know. If I could choose only two quality-of-life changes in FRLG to keep, it might be the running shoes and the vs seeker. Life changers for real.
Let's Go was a good experience but I wouldn't ever replay it. Good video! I never actually got to play FRLG because my brother was such a hog when I was younger but because of that I got to play Pokemon Yellow as much as I wanted to. That's a fun game. I loved using Butterfree in gen 1. All the quirks of those games make them great, because as you said things were so unbalanced that it didnt really matter what team you use.
@@shitsalad429 Cow's Pokemon in his play through of Let's Go! are named after US state capitals (Olympia, Washington; Sacramento, California; Montgomery, Alabama; Columbus, Ohio; and Albany, New York), except Charizard, who's just named 'Charizard.'
Right off the bat, the SANDSHREW line is one of my favorite Kanto Pokémon as well! I also love the VULPIX line a lot, however I have Red version on 3DS Virtual Console, but I could download Blue version too regardless! ;-) I just think it's a very fun coincidence that we both have the same favorite Pokémon!
To be fair, on the hand-holding section, neither of the things you mentioned will be even touched, or even known to most. So they're neat options, but they aren't even pushed onto you. And the help menu _does_ have the move-type information.
Firered and Leafgreen were absolutely amazing. I was severely let down with Let's Go dumbing down the game to the point where I didn't make it past Viridian.
@@taipaulsen4347That's the one thing that's legitimately lacking, that and fix the glitch for the 3 roaming dogs where if Raikou or Entei use roar, they are gone forever. There's probably roms out there that fix those 2 things, you can put them on a GBA cartridge, and play the definitive version. FRLG are such good remakes.
@@taipaulsen4347 that was literally the only thing Let's Go had to add alongside better presentation and it would have been the definitive version... instead...
A bit late to the party but great video! I'd like to add that you CAN actually see what type uses what stat in the help menu of Fire Red and Leaf Green. It is lister under the Attack and Special Attack entries. To this day I still use it when I replay the games, because I somehow can't memorize it.
Pokemon Leaf Green was the game that introduced me to Pokemon, but not in the way you'd expect. You see, I used to watch two Leaf Green let's plays _(Polish let's plays, no less)_ as a kid and it wasn't until a few years later when I figured out how to use emulators. Even then, I haven't beaten any game before my "Pokè-craze" came back way later and I decided to play Emerald. While I find it hard to consider FRLG fun nowdays due to the overexposure I had as a kid, they still hold a special place in my heart. And so does Wirgliusz. Never forget Archibald the Raticate. Never forget his horrible mispronounciation of Silph Scope. Never forget him trying (and failing) to catch Entei. Never forget his absurdly long hunt for Lugia. Never forget the way he hyped up Deoxys. Never forget his "genwunnerism" ;) You shall not be forgotten.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we get to a point where every single kanto Pokémon has there own form evolution of form or mega evolution gets all clustered into some alternate kanto universe
Yeah, it would probably look a lot better. I think Sword and Shield probably look the best, but Let's Go are definitely a visual improvement on the previous versions.
O, I would like to see Gen 3 in the Let's Go style but with wild pokemon battles. Be nice to walk with Treecko. Also spread the map out more so it feels more vast.
Technically they’ve been remade when they made Blue version, then again in GSC, there’s also the Gen 3 remakes, the Gen 4 HGSS postgames, and Let’s Go. We’ve been to Kanto a grand total of 5 times
FRLG wasn’t easy just because it told you how the game works. I’d rather go that route than what we have right now, hand holding, exp. all, literally telling you what move is super effective while battling, etc.
I think if FR/LG had the physical special split, they'd be the perfect pokemon games. R/S/E following close behind. I love the graphics and overall vibe of gen 3. Just needs phys/spec split to make more pokemon and moves viable.
The babying the player is usually a totally valid criticism, but here you're talking about a bunch of optional things that the player has to go out of their way to access (other than the initial Oak fight). I opened Teachy TV, saw that it was how the game handled the tutorial - optional, similar to Elden Ring - and decided to ignore it completely.
King Chicken Burger Pretzel Roasted Chicken The chicken is a little white on the outside and white on the inside. Try the new chicken oven or the original Burger King chicken oven.
Lets go was a great game. I was a bit disappointed with the catching mechanics, but everything else was amazing. The fact they didnt keep those crisp visuals for sword shield and scarlett violett was really a step down
I love Let’s Go’s art style but it wouldn’t fit a relatively massive region like Galar. I think Sword and Shield’s artstyle was fitting enough for the region
16:57 Of course you'll find what move types use what stat in the help system. Just go to the skills tab in one of your Pokemon's summary menu. Press L to Access the help menu, select "What does this term mean?" and then choose Attack or Special Attack to get a list of the respective types.
As far as the champion goes, the early pokemon games (gens 1-5) intentionally have the champion be quite a few levels higher than what you're expected to be at. This is to make the battle more difficult, not to require grinding.
I got stuck in Cerulean/Vermillion city with a Blastoise because I didn’t know how to use Cut. The trees at the time were not directly interactable in the overworld
I always find it funny that people act like game freak never release buggy messes when they have done that since the beginning. It's just that we always got the updated version a year later which fixed a lot of bugs from the original
Yeah, I feel like Fire Red and Leaf Green are a step down precisely because they don't break quite as easily as the originals. The early TMs are less devastating, and the high crit moves are much more balanced which makes the mid and late game a huge slog. Kanto was just kind of built and paced around the mechanics being so lopsided. It makes tons of QoL changes, but the pacing just feels off.
@@NiGHTSnoob I didn't have that issue myself...I played both of course, and played the original Red before FireRed. But the game being so much smoother to play (not just cause of 60 FPS, but also running shoes and other QoL), and without the literally broken mechanics just made it feel like more of a fun challenge to me. Cause of the original GEn 1's badge boost glitch, we were always OP and constantly cheating, without even trying to, due to any stat changes applying another Badge Boost. FireRed is the first time we got to play through Kanto without an insane advantage over the opposing trainers.
Don’t diss the blue help screen in fire red leaf green, the type matchup and stat explanation were mad useful as a kid. Like dude “this game contains optional explanations of game mechanics and tutorials for the player to explore at their own volition, and that’s terrible” is such a brain dead take
7 year old me had no idea where to find Flash so I did indeed trial and error my way through rock tunnel while it was pitch black using the faint walls that existed in gen 1 as guides.
Also adding Red as a final battle was a cool homage to the original final battle we were supposed to get in Red/Blue (Prof Oak). I still think it would be great to have a Let's Go "Johto" DLC to LGP/LGE. Have Oak give you a SS Ticket or create a "new" path south of the Pokemon League entrance (like how it is in gen 2) to get to New Bark Town. Then obviously level scaling would continue up from the end of Kanto. This would also end up offering Johto gym leaders with better versions of their Pokemon and better moves thanks to the higher levels. Then maybe we can finally get that battle with Prof Oak at the top of Mt Silver...
*Sees nodtalgia, great work, great research, top notch editing.* .... You earned one sub bro. I know, its a might power, a single sub, but one day when you become big, youll remember my comment, and grow closer to your even vaster auidience by then.
as a kid, I navigated the rock tunnel without flash. I didn't know that HM flash existed and my game was in German for some reason. because of the language barrier getting the tea and poke flute was a pain in the butt. I had to back-track every movement and talk to every NPC to find those necessary key items.
I HATED the LR help system. I was used to holding my GBA with my fingers always on the triggers, because they did nothing in my favorite games, or were needed constantly, like in Yoshi’s Island. I would always accidentally hit the triggers and bring that crap up.
@@GrandpaMaxGamingI was one of those kids!!! The game was an awesome entrance into the series.
I agree superb observation
Let’s go pikachu & Eevee are remakes of yellow not red and green . Pokemon fire red and leaf Green are direct remakes to the OG red and blue .
Evoluting pokemon back then: level up your pokemon to a certain level
Evolving pokemon nowadays: have a Gastly on your team on a foggy route while having 2 rare candies in your bag on a Wednesday afternoon
I feel like that really started to become a problem around Sun & Moon era - and I like those games, but it's one of its flaws
@@MarvinPowell1Hitmontop is a bigger pain in the ass than any of those lol.

This is much better than alt-tabbing or looking at your phone on a wiki because the game refuses to explains some of its mechanics
Also the biggest sin of the Let's Go games is not having Mew under the truck near the S.S Anne. That would've been a hell of a callback to one of gaming's most infamous playground stories

I clearly remember taking on Pryce with my Machoke and Feraligatr not long after, and having an amazing time :)
But!

@@Shybe777 yeah that too
I'm still level grinding at the endgame instead of going in headstrong with low to mid level 40 Pokemon. I'm aiming for Level 55 because of the Dragonite I'm gonna have. I don't remember my last member since I doubt I used it a lot, or I never had a last member to begin with. I now have a team of Blastoise, Pidgeot, Sandslash, Dragonite, Gyarados, and Exeggutor. I even have the EXP. All in my Blue copy.
I agree with you, is ok for the league to be above the 8th gym by a bit, After all, theres' a reason the gym leaders are not part of the Elite Four
the e4 isn’t even that hard, you’d be golden with just level 50s. plus being underleveled is the point like you said

But interfaith services are a different matter altogether. We misrepresent and even insult God when we claim that all religions teach the same thing and that we’re all praying to the same God.
Jesus said, “Unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24).
He was referring to the statement God made when He spoke to Moses from the burning bush (see Exodus 3:14)
Here’s what Jesus was saying: “I am equal with God. Unless you believe that I am God incarnate, that I am the Lord God, and that I am the only way to God, then you will die in your sins.”
The Bible teaches that Jesus was God in human form who died for the sins of the world.
But this, along with the seismic shifts that are happening in our culture, is a sign of the last days.
Yes. Only in gen 3 is it pitch dark. In gen 1, it's dark, but you can still see the walls; just not any trainers.
I’ll never understand the people who said Let’s Go were graphically bad. They are easily the best looking Pokémon games we’ve ever had.
Let's Go games are underappreciated, to be honest. I think this guy's complaints about the Secret Techniques, for example, were massively exaggerated.

The best looking pokemon games are BW and BW2 in my opinion
@@korkis88 A perfectly respectable opinion, even if I do think the 3D games have a lot of charm to them.

fire red and leaf green were basically made to reintroduce pokémon to a new and younger audience, since
pokemania was dead by the time ruby and sapphire released, and the gen 3 games somewhat undersold in comparison to gsc/rby.
that’s pretty much the reason why the tutorial menu and the teachy tv exists lol.
Wouldn't call 16+million sales "dead".
Wouldn't call the best selling game on GBA "dead", either.
Black and White(Gen V) being the worst selling games to date, well after Gen 3.
It has a tutorial because for some it was their introduction/first Pokemon game.
They made the remakes so that you could trade between newer versions of games/hw (else you couldn't have a complete living dex)

Check out Pokemon Yellow Legacy, this a newly released rom hack, now the game is done RIGHT!!
Gotta be like Ash and improvise. 😂

Wtf are you talking about where are these different rating systems

Not One and the Same
That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.
-John 8:24
According to the Bible, there will be a belief system during the tribulation period that everyone in the world will embrace.

Agreed. Rather have the optional help menu than dealing with a cutscene every three seconds just to explain something.
I love this story!!
I had no idea that was possible! Cool friend, too.
How does this have only 2000 views??? Very good quality video!
Ridable Pokemon, easy Shiny hunting, the nature foreteller lady, bottle caps, and so much more make LGPE an easy game to play.
easy Shiny hunting diminishes the point of shinies which is them being once in a lifetime rare
I feel like Kanto so big in the original and even moreso in the ramakes. But in let's go it just feels small to me, I don't know.
Love finding a future star on TH-cam early. You'll make it big for sure if you carry on
I don’t see why gamefreak acts as if kids are not supposed to be challenged or use their brain while playing games
Relax, nothing's dumbed down, just a different take
Well...that is until N, whos the most anime rival in all of these games and even catches the legendary from the other game.
The let’s go games are still the best looking 3d pokemon games even til today. And they run at smooth 30fps.

23:44 Ironic that the next games (Sword and Shield) completely trampled on this concept and removed like half of the national dex

To this day I still use it when I replay the games, because I somehow can't memorize it.
Red - Blue - Yellow to this day are the best ones
Ahh a fellow man of culture: Sandshrew and Sandslash being a favourite (Mine is still Raikou but those two are a very close second)
I wouldn’t be surprised if we get to a point where every single kanto Pokémon has there own form evolution of form or mega evolution gets all clustered into some alternate kanto universe
The hand holding in firered/leafgreen was so much better than in modern games because you could chose to not use it
Agreed. Hand-holding is fine as long as experienced players have the ability to skip it.
RBY and GSC were the peak of Pokemania. Sure was a magical time back then.
I know everyone complained about let’s go, but I WISH Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl had the same style
Yeah, it would probably look a lot better. I think Sword and Shield probably look the best, but Let's Go are definitely a visual improvement on the previous versions.
Yup, Let's go is the best the pokemon games have ever looked. If only they continued to use this beautiful style.
Also Ditto is technically Mewtwo and Mewtwo is technically Mewthree
Back then me and friends couldn’t find HM:flash location, so we used a poisoned pkmn to pass through rock tunnel 😂
Rock tunnel impossible to go through without flash? That shit literally made my childhood.
Leaf Green was my entry way to the pokemon series back in the early 2000s. The help systems were appreciated as a kid who would get stuck sometimes 😅
FRLG wasn’t easy just because it told you how the game works. I’d rather go that route than what we have right now, hand holding, exp. all, literally telling you what move is super effective while battling, etc.
personally im fine with the latter two (i highly prefer the exp all over the regular exp share) but the hand holding is very annoying
I think if FR/LG had the physical special split, they'd be the perfect pokemon games. R/S/E following close behind. I love the graphics and overall vibe of gen 3. Just needs phys/spec split to make more pokemon and moves viable.
better movesets would be appreciated too
The babying the player is usually a totally valid criticism, but here you're talking about a bunch of optional things that the player has to go out of their way to access (other than the initial Oak fight). I opened Teachy TV, saw that it was how the game handled the tutorial - optional, similar to Elden Ring - and decided to ignore it completely.
Dragon Quest mention earns a sub.

Red and Blue battle system’s quirks is ironically what makes it fun
Like dude “this game contains optional explanations of game mechanics and tutorials for the player to explore at their own volition, and that’s terrible” is such a brain dead take
The Help system in GBA Advance Fire Red, actually helped me learn the type match once and for all
Your naming convention was def "My best friends nicknames"
I remember playing these games SO much I could find my way through Rock Tunnel blind, no flash.
>Complains about games being too easy

Great analysis. Thank you
Every SINGLE player of Gen 1 called their rival either "Stinky" or "Ass"
as a kid, I navigated the rock tunnel without flash. I didn't know that HM flash existed and my game was in German for some reason. because of the language barrier getting the tea and poke flute was a pain in the butt. I had to back-track every movement and talk to every NPC to find those necessary key items.
The Let's go games were aesthetically gorgeous and the soundtrack was great. With that said, the game as a whole I did not really enjoy.
"Ditto is obviously a fail clone of Mew". Gamefreak disagree....
I laughed at that joke.
I HATED the LR help system. I was used to holding my GBA with my fingers always on the triggers, because they did nothing in my favorite games, or were needed constantly, like in Yoshi’s Island. I would always accidentally hit the triggers and bring that crap up.
