Nice to hear, that they have fans in US😮❤ I love mine. You told all important facts very well. Maybe I can add that there are two colors of this breed, brown speckled/ and silver speckled.
It seems that, often, I have the exception to "non-setters." ha I've had white leghorns, sexlinks, and of course, my Bielefelders to go broody! I like my Bielefelders!!
I'm wanting to order some from about 3 different places to avoid inbreeding. My friend has 6 and three of them went broody. He said they were really good mothers
Seeing your high numbers makes me want to re-flock. Roaming starving-stray dogs left me with three out of a dozen, we had a serial-dog-dumper for a while. My 7 year old ~early-2017 hen laid three eggs this week. I don't know if I should get her more hens or wait for her to go, maybe next spring I'll decide.
You should get some more hens for your one hen. Chickens are social, flock birds. They like company. I had 20 but sold 4 so 16 now. That is more manageable for me. Take care!
@@stephstafford837 If it is a true Bielefelder, it will look exactly like mine. Welsummer also look a little like a Bielefelder as well. Compare to Google search pics and see if that helps. Good luck and thanks for watching 😊
@@stephstafford837 oh...it's hard to tell that small until the feathers come in. I hope it's a girl. Usually any breed birds are boys. If it gets a big comb at 6 weeks, it's a roo.
I'm ordering from Murray McMurray in 2025, as my old chickens are getting "long in the tooth". But I'm not ordering Bielefelder chickens. I'm ordering Naked Neck Turkens, as they according to the hatchery, sport big juicy breasts, are productive layers(220-280 a year) and will sit eggs(won't have to buy anymore). Their mixed flock comes in a variety of colors, thus adding to their genetics.
@@gregzeigler3850I've never had Turkens. Hopefully they are as described and you get them. McMurray tends to do substitutions every time I've ordered. It's frustrating to not get the breed you want and end up with double or triple the number of another breed. Thanks for watching 😊

@@carolineswelt Thanks so much for your comment. Happy Thanksgiving 😊
Beautiful birds and beautiful flock. Some say they are more docile and tame than Orpingtons. Keep the videos coming...they are great! Kevin
Love your flock ❤ I’m so happy to have you back to making videos again! I really missed ya when you were gone.
Thanks so much. Glad to have a flock again and make videos.

Ha ha....one of my Bielefelders is broody right now. Any breed can go broody...😊
