    John, my husband took some 2" x 4" wire that's about 4' high and joined it into a circle. We call it our chicken catcher. We're in our 70s so we don't move as fast any more. He just gets them in the circle and then reaches in and plucks them out. Good luck with the roosters.

    Add some extra protein and layer crumble to their diet. I have old hens laying because I mix grower crumble in with the layer.

    Do you cross breed? I'm just starting. Should I keep my different breeds separate? I have isa browns. Just bought some bielefelder and I'm picking up my Rhode island reds this weekend.

      We are going to start just so we can breed for cool egg colors. You can just separate out if you want to start collecting eggs to hatch of the breeds you want
