It would be nice if the RC-28A had a headphone Jack and mic connector for SM-30. Key Jack? I understand CW does not work over a remote connection very well.
Why is the spectrum display so slow? I really like the "liquid" display of Thetis. Certainly computers have enough procession power to handle the spectrum analyzer.
On IC9700 the function "synchronized CW/SSB" is set to "OFF" every time RS-BA1 is used. Annoying feature. Why not use internal recorded messages also in remote ? Playback received voice on TX not possible locally, only remote recorded message can be transmitted. The 6.22 version quite unstable with weird messages that cannot be traced for correction. RS-BA1 ver2 seems not to be fully developed and stable yet. The user has to himself set Windows priority for it. Why not set by installer, to avoid stability problems ?
No you cannot. If you have a model such as the IC-705, IC-9700 or IC-7610 you can put it into Standby. I you want to turn your radio on/off you will need to use a Wi-Fi activated remote switch.
You completely skipped the USB driver installation - there are 2 driver folders on the thumb drive; CP210x and Icom USB Serial Port Driver - which one do I use???????
Not in my experience. I use a remote desktop programme for that so that I can see wsjt-x. I don't need any controls on the radio during FT8 sessions though. If my 7300 is connected with wsjt-x then the RS-BA1 software won't connect. Exit from WSJT-X and RS-BA1 connects immediately. I would suggest that PSTRotator might also "block" the data port if you have the "set Icom time" function selected as it runs up omnirig.
hi! I have a challenge controlling the IC radio remotely using a different network, that is, the radio is on one network and the remote control is on another network. I want to control it from a distance. Can anyone help, how do I do it?
The app install went fine. I connected my PC to my 7300 via USB, I can connect fine everything works. However when I take my laptop, I add a server info (the local IP of that PC) connection is failing. Meaning no service is running to respond to port 50001. When I can't connect within my network I can't connect from the outside ether. Port forwarding is already set. I get no response to port 5001. The Laptop to PC connection is direct, Windows firewall is disabled. What am I missing ? What app needs to run for the server side to be active and ready to reply to connection requests. I watched 5 videos on this and nobody is addressing it.
I sent your post to a colleague who has been away at an exhibition. He has supplied me with some advice for you. Hope it helps • Use the Setup Wizard to get the connection from the USB , Remote Server and Remote PC. • Port forwarding is not used on your local LAN.. only when the access is using an outside ISP. • Laptop connecting to radio via server ..connect to the server ip address , that is the Windows PC.. IP address. • The external connection is the router IP Address. Try this :- portforward.com/icom-rs-ba1/
I have the same issue as @randomuploads4u . Your instructions did not work for him or I because the setup software only allows to to input 50001 port with the local LAN IP address is inputted during setup. Which machine do you us setup Wizard as USB Remote Server? Which ICON is the one that is the USB , Remote Server and Remote PC on the remote machine? Do we need to plug the radio into the remote machine to setup the software and then unplug it and go remote with it? I cannot get it to work on a local network or via the internet even though I have made exceptions in the windows firewall , shut it off and also port forwarded in my router UDP for all 50001, 50002 & 50003.@@Icom_UK
It seems a bit clunky to set up a Windows machine just to host the Remote Utility server. Any chance of a Raspberry Pi version of the Remote Utility in the future? Also client support for MacOS and Linux desktops would be most welcome. Windows is getting more and more painful and invasive to use with every release. Plus supported versions of Windows are not friendly to older PC hardware which many radio amateurs may like to use in the radio shack.
Hi there do you know if its possible to control an IC 7300 or IC 7100 remotely with using 2 laptops, i think some of the more expensive Icons have built in remote and you can just plug the router straight into the radio, but with the 7300 and7100 i don't think you can but i dont know?..Fred g4vvq.
@@Icom_UK Hi there, yes, the system was this, the 7300-server laptop-internet connection to router-router to second laptop via wi-fi was all on same premises, i do belive there is amore expensive Icom radi that just plugs straight onto the router, but i have the 7300 that doesnt, i dont think, i did try a Rasberry PI as server but couldnt get it to work so gave up on that...using win 10, i think it will work with win 11 but never tried it...i have had it working with 2 laptops some time ago...cheers Fred g4vvq
I'd like to see the remote utility integrated on the main program.

Just need to get iPad version now of this!
Does the licence allow you to install the software on multiple computers?
The licence is subject to the licence holder

How to install frequency in radio??
Is there a version of the software for Mac computers?
No there isnt a Mac version of this software

Will this program work with other-than-Icom radios?
It is designed specifically for Icom radios.

It was a long time ago that I did this but think it was the CP210X

Does anybody know if this software is compatible with Windows 7 Pro?
Looks like there is quite a a bit of "lag" on the spectrum analyzer.

‘Could not be easier”. … Based on all the steps in this video I think it could be a lot easier. To me it could not be more complicated than this.
