It is KEY to install the USB drivers from the ICOM website BEFORE connecting the USB cable between the PC and rig, otherwise Windows will install whatever drivers it thinks will work from the Web - WRONG! Do this USB Com and USB AUDIO Codec installation BEFORE starting the process that Bob that describes in the video. Also of note is that when 13.8V is attached to the IC-7300 - even with the power off - the internal USB circuitry is powered on - so don't think you can connect the cable and leave the IC-7300 off and avoid Windows installing the wrng drivers - the PC sees the IC-7300 as turned on, even when you haven't turned it on. Hello, nice video but i have a question . But at home the ic 7300 must always on the power switch i understand that. But must be at home also a laptop or pc also on connected with the ic7300 the whole day on?
The IC-7300 must have a permanent 12V supply to be accessed remotely. It does not need to be switched on, as a remote command can be sent to do this. The attached PC does need to be switched on while controlling the radio. If you preferred not to leave the PC powered all the time, we would suggest a remote Wi-Fi power socket. The computer can then be switched on from your remote device, you need to set the PC so that it boots up and runs BA1 software automatically on power up. It is also a good idea to have remote desktop access to the PC to change settings if necessary.

The computer suggested options include user ID and password, and commands that don't seem to correlate with your suggested string. Still struggling through...

However there is no IP address displayed on the ic-7300 radio list instead it only lists "local" where at 16:11 in the video it should show the external IP address on our version it just says "Local", we have the latest version of the software purchased frmo Martin and Lynch but the UI seems to differ to the one displayed in the video. Please help we have failed to get it to work after many hours of frustration.

I suspect Microsoft has changed a few things since you made this video. The string entered at the command prompt turning on administrator functions returns a syntax error. The computer suggested options include user ID and password, and commands that don't seem to correlate with your suggested string. Still struggling through...
Hello great video, I have managed to set up locally so i can control the radio from the computer it's connected to so no issues there, but i have installed on my laptop connected to my phones wifi added port forwarding and connected no problem, but there is no radio in radio list any ideas Thanks
Thanks for posting this..... nice shack..... 73's
I thought the installation required a serial key/code. I'm assuming that was the portion blurred out in the video when you held up the CD. However, at no point in the video did I see a need for this. Is this not needed for installation? Did I miss something?
You do need a serial number to install....but for the purpose and pace of the video, it was left out.
can you work with N1MM and RS-BA1 at the same time??
Excellent instructional Video, thank you so much, KN4LRN...73
Are use Google remote on my iPad to connect to my laptop, which is running WSJT-X to operate FT8. Works great. Has anyone had any luck running RS-BA1 on the remote laptop and connected to the laptop. Using Google remote or similar remote access software from the iPad?
Hi, i've followed the instruction and the laptop is connected to the Icom 7300. But after 2-3 seconds of receiving the radio goes by itself directly in TX mode and there is NO way to go back in Receiving.. What could be the problem...? Tks 73 de IU1CYF
Fantastic company ICOM !!!!

If I’m on holiday, and on the beach looking at all the trim, the LAST thing I’m going to be doing is jumping on the radio listening to an bunch of old geezers talking about their local weather.
Super agree!!!
Exactly...not to mention my wife would kill me...😁
Ok, but how to connect radioicom7300 with PC? There is a cabke
In the CD software kit ?
When setting up port forwarding for UDP server, what is the External Port?
The Ports are 5001 5002 5003
Hi, with the RS-BA1 or version 2 do you need the RC28 unit or can you TX without it? is it a simple case of (using a mouse) clicking on the TX icon on the screen?
ok I've sorted it, didn't see the big TRANSMIT switch lol
Does this work with the newer logging and digital software such as DXLab Suite, WSJT-X, FlDigi, etc.?
This software wouldn't switch my IC-7300 to USB-D (it goes just to USB) so we probably are a SOL :(
Unless there is some trick "how to" this software is a useless garbage to me!
Anyone know how many installs you get with this software? I have my Desktop, portable and laptop. Skimming throught the instructions and all i've found is something about a "backup" can be made?
I'd rather choose wisely if its only one install per copy.
My colleague has told me that you can use it on mulitple computers but are limited with the software to just one radio.
At 3:25 you speak of doing that thing in the command prompt. I did exactly what you said. I got a notice saying this: NET USER
[username [password | *] [options]] [/DOMAIN]
username {password | *} /ADD [options] [/DOMAIN]
username [/DELETE] [/DOMAIN]
username [/TIMES:{times | ALL}]
username [/ACTIVE: {YES | NO}]
Icom says the errors I am getting when I try to install this is a windows problem. It will not let me install says I don't have permission. What else do I have to do to get Admin privlages to install the program.
Is there a Linux or Raspberry Pi version of this software?
Great video Bob - much appreciated. Looking forward to giving it a go. 73 KE0N
The optical storage media is a problem in amateur astronomy as well...and the ubiquitous serial ports on very expensive telescopes too, though that is slowly improving...c'mon guys...its not the early 90s...I thought this wouldn't be a problem in HAM radio too...😁 anyway, thanks for a helpful video...73s...de...AC3FB...
Can one software run more than one transceiver? Would like to use for both 9700 and 7300 ..
You wont be able to use this software on two different radios at the same time
Hi! i have a icom ic-9700 and the rs-ba1 version 2 software. A clean PC with the Remote software. No Firewalls everything is open for testing. From outside no connection. Inside the LAN no connection. Seems that the IC unit don't want to setup a connection. Settings in the icom are alright?? Tried many things but no connection. Any idea? have someone a backup file from a ic-9700 unit with tested settings for remote? thanks
So your ic7300 is cabled to your windows pc and that it is left on while you’re away.
In its simple format yes
Do you need a CD player or you can download it?
The software is currently on CD .. but I think there are plans to change this in the future.
So we have the latest version of the icom software and the IC-7300 is confirmed to connect to the computer. However it seems to only be running over a LAN, we go to setup and click the "Setup for server pc" and we have port forwarded 50001 50002 50003 to the machine and register as a server PC.
Will get you an answer as soon as I can. Had to forward it to a colleague.
@@Icom_UK Thank you.
@@pmr446 You are correct, this video is for RS-BA1 version 1...so the software will be different. Speaking to a colleague he has suggested what you will need to establish is the IP address of the computer.
Rather than having a protracted conversation through me, it might be worth either following this up with either emailing/phoning Martin Lynch or ourselves on 01227 741741 or sales@icomuk.co.uk.
My problem is when I go to connect the radio in the radio tab I get a "Real Serial Device Error" the server is connected but it won't connect with the radio in the radio tab.
DDNS will solve the dynamic IP issue.. look up no-ip.
O have a icom 7100 and i want to run it remote by using my iphone how is this possible
