I don't know why it's taken me so long to subscribe to your TH-cam channel (or if I was somehow unsubscribed) but I'm glad to be here. I went to an independent film school in 2011-12 and did well. I especially loved Scriptwriting and wrote a short the Instructors were crazy about. It was a challenge film that they thought, if shot well, could potentially win a film festival and would be quite controversial. I was excited and attempted two shoots but aborted the first attempt because my lead actor wound up in the hospital (unrelated to the film/shoot), and the second due to an unforeseen issue with the location. My thesis film was never shot 😢, Michigan killed the Film Tax Credit (which was ridiculous as we had a new and booming industry), and my life took on some interesting challenges of its own. I feel fortunate to have an opportunity to start over at 62 and keep pondering film work, which nearly feels unattainable at this point. Maybe my time here will help. Thanks for what you do, Ela! BTW, the challenges I've endured since film school prompted an idea for a book on PTSD from an angle I (shockingly) haven't seen in print. I got kudos from others in group therapy and hope to somehow turn it into a documentary. But, first, I need to finish the book!
How did those 5 minutes go so fast? BTW I'm so excited for this year's Iowa Independant Film Festival happening in September. One if the features is hoing to be The Bopper and Me. I met the Tim crew some years ago when they came into my store after Winter Dance Party events had stopped. They were working on the documentary then. They are from New Zealand. We stayed in touch firvawhike so I knew tgeyvran put of money. I'm so excited to see they found the finds and will be here this year!
Nia:wen/Merci/Thanks from Block 2 of the 1784 Haldimand - it's been a slog here since before COVID but the Tuesday dispatches from your neck of the woods give us hope ;-)

My problem is finding a screen writing app that's free, as that is what I can afford. Love these videos thanks Ela.
Amazing again, thank you Ela!! 🙏🏼👩🏻💻
