❤ I love these tidbits. I am learning choosing who to work with and to learn from is maybe the most important choice. For instance, I would never be happyif I were forced to follow someone else's template or formula no matter how much success it guarantees. Your advice to follow the fun is platinum is platinum. Even within my own writers group. We are different kinds of writers. Feedback is fine but coming from someone who writes technical manuals won't carry as much weight as someone who writes stories, for instance. Unless if course I aksobwrote technical manuals!

agreed! Well said. and yes... I wouldn't seek screenwriting input from a technical writer ;) Unless you're looking for a layperson's opinion, which I don't recommend doing in early drafts.

YAY! Exposition Laugh OUT LOUD - "in real life we don't go around explaining what's going on...we just...things just go on..." unless you are a mother like me - I had the BEST HEARTY LAUGH! You are amazing! Thank you! this is amazing always.

Thanks for answering my question, about a director revising the script. Initially, I wasn't completely happy with some of the changes, but for the sake of getting the movie done, I compromised. In the end, I think the movie has more of a chance for commercial success, with some of the changes. Sometimes I have been accused of being to artsy fartsy, which is why I am enrolled in your course on directing. Thanks again.

Fantastic. Glad it was you whose question I replied to :) Stay true to who you are, while continually figuring out how to make the work accessible. It's always possible to find that nexus: the meeting point of the work you'd like to create, and the work that wider audiences can enjoy and benefit from. That's a gift 🎁

lovely! i have a question for you, should the book come before or after the script. AND, has copyright for books/scripts changed?

Generally books are turned into screenplays, not the other way. But rules are made to be broken ;)
I'm no expert on copyright laws, but nothing substantive has changed to my knowledge.
