I heard that using olaplex overnight will result in problems when you go to recolor or hilight. The hair won't lift to the perfect color you want. Bc there is a layer of oplaplex on the shaft the bleach cant penatrate, or penetrates unevenly. Just follow the directions, dont overdo it.
Let me reply to you 3 years after you asked the question.😅 No.3 is a diluted form of No.2. So you need more of No.3 to have the same affect No.2 will have on your hair. However, No.2 is much pricier and No.3 is readily available to buy.
Is there a reason you did not use olaplex no 1? No 2 is more effective if you apply no 1 in for 5-10 minutes before applying no 2. Your hair looks amazing regardless though ❤️

(and I’m so glad I did!) my hair dresser had given me olaplex 2 right before the city I live in went into mandatory quarantine) She had another client waiting and said the instructions super quick and I didn’t remember. So I decided to look it up and found your channel/review. I was scared to do this at home. But after seeing your video I feel much, much better about it. I am not wearing extensions anymore and I’m trying to get my hair as healthy and natural as possible. My hair is naturally curly. It’s not ringlets by any means but a looser curl. I just purchased 3, 4 & 5 for the first time and I’m currently using 3. So excited for the results and to see the difference in my hair. I’ve had balayage for about 3 years now. My hair isn’t badly damaged just a little dry at the ends.

Hi Leona! I just run out of No 2 so I can’t check for you right now. From what I remember, neither of them smelled like much. But maybe there was a fragance update? Maybe DM Olaplex directly for a more accurate answer. Sorry I couldn’t help much! ❤️

Lisa Joo Hi Lisa! Thanks for stopping by! I never had Olaplex N2 overnight. So I don’t want to lie and say one thing or another. Can’t say if there is risk of overexposure or not. I have used N3 for hours though and good results. Some sources say it stops working if dry anyways. I had the #1 & #2 at home for stand-alongside e treatments. I ran out of the #2 and still have some #1 left. I’m wondering since I don’t have #2, if using #3 over the #1 will still be ok. Hi, my natural hair colour is really light blonde but like many teenagers I decided to dye it and I dyed it black!! And about 2 years ago I realised I wanted it back blonde so I literally bleached it 4 times in one day🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️so you can imagine how awful and stretchy and snapable it was. It was also up to my ears it was so short as it all snapped off. Since then I’ve been on and off with hair extensions to hide how bad and short it really was! But since then my hair has grown but only to my shoulders and that is only the back parts however my front parts are like just below my jaw but it is still so thin all over!! I am now currently 8 weeks into applying no heat at all to it as I used to straighten it every day! And I’ve also been taking vitamins now 1 every night for the past 3 month nearly so I was just wondering if this is really good as my hair is in really need of a good treatment and it’s time for it to grow so I feel confident!!🙈❤️sorry for the life story, I love your videos💖💖
Leah Adcock Don’t worry! if your hair is stretching like bubblegum Olaplex helped me so much with that. iF you can get an ORIGINAL 1&2 Travel Kit, that would be IDEAL. Make sure you’re not scammed with fake products though. If you have a hairdresser friend she can get those for you at the Olaplex Official site. If you CANNOT, then I suggest you apply Olaplex No3 at least 2-3 times a week. I started out with Olaplex No3 and it saved my hair. Hope this helps. I have an entire Olaplex playlist you can checkout for your peace of mind. That will give you more details. Big 🤗
When I do chemical things to my hair, I find 1 and 2 somehow lol I use before at home and hit it after once a week for a couple weeks to help save any stressed out hair
You can put a shower cap over the Olaplex 2 treated hair so it doesn't dry while it's working on your hair. I read somewhere that it can cause breakage if Olaplex dries on your hair.
Oh wow. I have number 2 in a pump bottle I like to use it overnight on wet hair Do you recommend I keep a cap on it? Or is it ok overnight then washed off
@@Ohkeh640 I would not use Olaplex 2 overnight, just No.3. And when I use No. 3 overnight I always put a shower cap plus a beanie for keeping the hair a little warm so the no. 3 can work better.

@@heidiguttenberg la verdad que me tiñó el pelo porque tengo muchísimas canas. Y en este último año me hice dos veces mechas. La primera vez bien pero la segunda si se me estropeó un poco el cabello. Y compré el kit de viaje. Me va genial. Yo lo uso como tratamiento único. Lo máximo que lo deje un día fue creo que unas 4 horas y genial. Ahora voy a empezar a usarlo con el tinte cuando me tiña en casa y me quite lo que queda de mechas. Importante: primero se mezcla el tinte y el peróxido y después se añade esos pocos mililitros de olaplex y te tiñes normal. Luego enjuagas el tinte con agua sin jabón. Pones el paso 2 y lo dejas 10 min mínimo. Y ya lavas e hidratas. 😘
smouz Zz It’s a good idea. As long as you are 100% sure that you are getting an original Olpalex 2. Since it’s a professional product, sometimes getting an original one can be tricky
So if there is a lot of fake olaplex out there is it still ok to buy them from the links in this video where it takes you to Walmart. Granted it's a salon through Walmart but I want to make sure its real
It’s always better to buy consumer products through Sephora or the Olaplex site. If you want professional products you need a salon or professional friend to help you.
I bought the kit on eBay. That has number one and two I've used it several months and I am fine. I think I'll olaPlex number two is almost the same as number three.
Yes.You have to mix it with water. Mike it came with olaplex number 1 and 2number 2. I've been using it for about six months and still have it. But I do the whole treatment once a month.
Heidi , incredibly well! It’s noticeably stronger than No 3, so there is ABSOLUTELY no skipping a good hydrating mask, shampoo and conditioner afterwards.
Hey Heidi! The video review is amazing , I found olaplex 2 on Amazon 2000ml , if it's for professionals only so is that one on Amazon fake ? I didn't find any smaller size bottles
Well, I was notified that now (as of 2020) Amazon has a team verifying sellers authenticity. That said, Olaplex told me that (of course) they cannot guarantee authenticity of the products sold there. So, I guess there could be a small risk. Best move would be Olaplex site or Sephora. But for professional products you need a pro friend. In my country professional Olaplex products can be sold to anyone because hairstylists are not licensed here and nobody asks questions. Hope I could help!

I have diluted some no 2 to make my own no 3 lol, no 2 is meant to be 15% and no 3 is 12.5% so it is only a 6th to dilute it by. Just use cooled boiled water x
M00NIMA im not sleeping with no 2 bcs somehow even we re sleeping with it.. or waiting for more than 4 hours it doesnt react to build the bond anymore.. so after 2-4 hours i wash it 😍 and im using olaplex 1 too for treatment.. and the result is much much better.. and im not using olaplex 1 mixed with dye or any bleach.. but just mixed olaplex no 1 with water and mixed it.. after that apply to your hair.. and wait 2 hours.. after that wash it 😍😍
Funny story how I found out about it's high sodium content lol I have Oleplex 1 & 2. I bring them along with me to the salon (MUCH CHEAPER!!). I grabbed them out of my bag and I guess I got some on my hands without realizing it. I put a candy in my mouth and just about gagged 🤢 the overwhelming taste of salt was sooo gross 😂😂

meletia miliou It’s going to harden on your hair as it dries... I haven’t tried doing it myself, but I wouldn’t do it if I were you. There is a leave in version #6 that is meant for that. I haven’t tried it yet but will do soon.
It’s hard to say, because this bottle size actually comes in a Travel Kit and I got someone to sell it separately from the other 2 products for me. The professional 500ml kit that comes with steps 1,2 & 3 is very expensive of course.

When I do chemical things to my hair, I find 1 and 2 somehow lol I use before at home and hit it after once a week for a couple weeks to help save any stressed out hair
You can put a shower cap over the Olaplex 2 treated hair so it doesn't dry while it's working on your hair. I read somewhere that it can cause breakage if Olaplex dries on your hair.

@@Ohkeh640 I would not use Olaplex 2 overnight, just No.3. And when I use No. 3 overnight I always put a shower cap plus a beanie for keeping the hair a little warm so the no. 3 can work better.

@@andjelapommom1469 to me it smells like a standard hair shampoo - almost like the smell you get when you walk into a salon if that makes sense? It’s quite subtle though, definitely not overwhelming

@@heidiguttenberg la verdad que me tiñó el pelo porque tengo muchísimas canas. Y en este último año me hice dos veces mechas. La primera vez bien pero la segunda si se me estropeó un poco el cabello. Y compré el kit de viaje. Me va genial. Yo lo uso como tratamiento único. Lo máximo que lo deje un día fue creo que unas 4 horas y genial. Ahora voy a empezar a usarlo con el tinte cuando me tiña en casa y me quite lo que queda de mechas. Importante: primero se mezcla el tinte y el peróxido y después se añade esos pocos mililitros de olaplex y te tiñes normal. Luego enjuagas el tinte con agua sin jabón. Pones el paso 2 y lo dejas 10 min mínimo. Y ya lavas e hidratas. 😘

smouz Zz It’s a good idea. As long as you are 100% sure that you are getting an original Olpalex 2. Since it’s a professional product, sometimes getting an original one can be tricky

It’s always better to buy consumer products through Sephora or the Olaplex site. If you want professional products you need a salon or professional friend to help you.
I bought the kit on eBay. That has number one and two I've used it several months and I am fine. I think I'll olaPlex number two is almost the same as number three.

Yes.You have to mix it with water. Mike it came with olaplex number 1 and 2number 2. I've been using it for about six months and still have it. But I do the whole treatment once a month.

Hey Heidi! The video review is amazing , I found olaplex 2 on Amazon 2000ml , if it's for professionals only so is that one on Amazon fake ? I didn't find any smaller size bottles
Well, I was notified that now (as of 2020) Amazon has a team verifying sellers authenticity. That said, Olaplex told me that (of course) they cannot guarantee authenticity of the products sold there. So, I guess there could be a small risk. Best move would be Olaplex site or Sephora. But for professional products you need a pro friend. In my country professional Olaplex products can be sold to anyone because hairstylists are not licensed here and nobody asks questions. Hope I could help!

I have diluted some no 2 to make my own no 3 lol, no 2 is meant to be 15% and no 3 is 12.5% so it is only a 6th to dilute it by. Just use cooled boiled water x

Funny story how I found out about it's high sodium content lol I have Oleplex 1 & 2. I bring them along with me to the salon (MUCH CHEAPER!!). I grabbed them out of my bag and I guess I got some on my hands without realizing it. I put a candy in my mouth and just about gagged 🤢 the overwhelming taste of salt was sooo gross 😂😂

Hello from Greece dear, do you know if I can put a small amount of olaplex 2 mixed with water and spray my hair and not rinse out . My hair is almost like afro and very thin so need to be heavy in order not to standing up. If olaplex 2 stays on and not rinse out what do you think is but for hair?
meletia miliou It’s going to harden on your hair as it dries... I haven’t tried doing it myself, but I wouldn’t do it if I were you. There is a leave in version #6 that is meant for that. I haven’t tried it yet but will do soon.

It’s hard to say, because this bottle size actually comes in a Travel Kit and I got someone to sell it separately from the other 2 products for me. The professional 500ml kit that comes with steps 1,2 & 3 is very expensive of course.
