    First 3 minutes of a 5 min video: "i dOn'T dO PriNcE"
    - yeah sure, we read that in the title, but why?

@ThePaul Steezo I have been playing Hyper G 17 and Hyper G 16 in those garbage racquets that Tennis Spin won't sell (Prince Phantom's) for the past 2.5 years with no problem whatsoever as Hyper G is not very stiff for a poly and works well in a soft frame. @@juggernauts9880 Unfortunately, the Phantom 100X (290) is the only frame that I haven't tested or sold. If you can swing the 305 gm. model that would be my recommendation. Both the 290 and 305 have a similar swingweight, so you won't feel the weight difference as much. Since the frame is pretty flexible, the extra weight on the 305 will provide you added stability and plow through. At this point, almost anything you pick up compared to the Pure Drive will offer you more comfort!

I switched to prince a couple of years ago (textreme 100p) and have now switched to the phantom 100x and I really love them. I have tried all brands and models. I could start a shop with my models 😀 but there was something that was always lacking. They were either To stiff our the feel just wasn’t right. A racket is so personal so I do not diss any brand but I get why prince have fallen of the radar. Only the big 4 like Wilson, yonex, head and babolat have the budgets to market on a global scale so their popularity is very dependent on marketing rather then quality. As you stated because of their bankruptcy prince just can’t compete anymore. Reviews should be made based on the racket rather than their marketing value. My teacher sells babolat exclusively and I gave him the phantom and he was stunned by how good it played. He was pleasantly surprised... We as consumers do not care about the inner competition in the selling world. We just want good rackets 😜😜😜

Prince has great rackets and crap marketing. Not enough pros use them, probably because Prince can't pay enough. Best Prince sticks: Textreme Tour 100 (310), Textreme Beast 100 (regular and 03 grommet models), Textreme Beast 98 (regular and 03 grommet models). For lighter models, the Textreme Warrior line is good. Prince (like Babolat) also makes a great line of beginner rackets. One of their biggest problems across their racket lines is they offer way too many models and too many of their rackets are very similar. This just creates confusion for buyers and hurts sales. I'd put the Prince rackets I listed above against anything from the top 3 - Babolat, Head, or Wilson. The top 3 offer more stiff rackets, but the new model trend has moved toward the more plush rackets, so Prince should be back in that game. If you don't believe me, check the Wilson v7 line, and the Head Gravity line (even the new Graphene 360 and 360+ lines have slightly lower RA's than in the past). Only Babolat has stuck with the stiffer Aero and Pure Drive lines and even their newest are slightly softer, including the Pure Strike 3rd Gen line. To me, the ultimate racket combination is - - Controlled Power - - that seems counter intuitive. How can you have both power and control? Don't they work against each other? They do, but the magic is in the engineering of string bed spacing for sweet spot and spin, the racket's balance which affects swing weight and maneuverability, and the choice of where and how the flex or stiffness of the racket is designed in. Prince is pretty good at designing rackets with a good balance of all three. In my opinion, the difference between Prince and all the rest is mostly marketing. Try a demo of the Textreme 100 Tour 100 (310), the Beast 100 (regular grommets), and the Beast 98 (with 03 grommets) from Tennis Warehouse for $15.

If there's anything that gives me hope about Prince today, it's there Phantom line of racquets. I personally use the Phantom 100X 305 & it is (in my opinion) one of Prince's best racquets they've made in years! I've been a hardcore Wilson guy for the last 10 years (was never a fan of the green P back then) but Prince's latest stuff has now made a believer out of me! Would love to see them make a comeback one day if they've got it in them. :-)

I bought the Prince T22 shoes because I heard such good reviews and I have a slightly wide foot. On one shoe the inside had a very annoying pressure that never went away. I got back into tennis recently after about 3 years not using them and the soft rubber on one shoe became very hard to the point I was sliding and marking when I got on the court. The shoes were kept in a very safe environment, no reason it should've changed. I'm on the new Babolat Propulse Fury AC shoes and the comfort and performance is so much better.

    • @AMstringing

If you have wide feet, the T22 is not the shoe for you. You should try the newer T22 Lite which doesn't have those hard plastic forefoot straps. The Prince brand currently operates under a licensing model where the IP is owned by a partner company who specializes in licensing by the name of Authentic Brands Group. For the past 1.5 years they have been working with the teams from Tennis Warehouse and Dick’s Sporting Goods to be the licensees and distribution partners here in the US market and have been working to regain their place in the wholesale market. While there’s been quite a few changes to the distribution model the good news is that the core brand operations like product development have never stopped and the core team is still in place in NYC to help design and manufacture some of the best tennis products in the world.

    • @AMstringing
      @AMstringing 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's an explanation that might help . . .
Japan has their own license and works with ABG, like Tennis Warehouse in the U.S. Japan does have more input regarding racquet design. Recently, the Twistpower X100 was added to the Prince line which is originally a Japan licensee design. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/6rVg8Z9zaXI/w-d-xo.html
Prince as a brand has not experienced the “turmoil” overseas it has in the U.S., which may explain why Japan have so many more products. Considering the state of the business here between 2012-2016, Prince is rebuilding what once was in the U.S.

I understand why you don't carry them. It wouldn't be profitable, and that 100% makes sense from a business perspective.
That said, Prince is currently putting out some really great sticks at good-to-great prices. I'm playing with the Beast 98, which I switched to from a Pure Drive+ (2015) when I started having some issues with tennis elbow. I've previously played primarily with Head (Ti. Radical, i. Radical, i.Prestige, and Youtek IG Prestige) and Volkl (Tour 10 93, Quantum 10). Before I switched to Prince I had narrowed my search down to three sticks; Babolat Pure Strike, Yonex Ezone DR 98, and the Prince Beast 98. I liked all three almost equally, and the fact that I could pick up three of the beasts for ~$150 made it an extremely easy decision. I'm sure the QC isn't as tight as Yonex, but a $10 racquet matching fee took care of that and resulted in 3 sticks within one gram of weight, all with equal swing weights.
I have no affiliation with Prince at all, but I wouldn't write them off if you're in the market for a new racquet.

    • @AMstringing

The latest Phantom racquets are awesome sticks, super elbow friendly, that have nothing to envy to the Clash or Blade series.

It's not that you don't need them or they have dropped in popularity, it's that it's not financially beneficial for you to do so. Just tell the truth in 10sec, rather than dance around it in 6 minutes.

I thought I read or was told by someone that would know something like this that TW bought a portion of the Prince company or all of it. Hence their being the only one to sell them. I could be way wrong though.

Although there’s been quite a few changes to the distribution model the good news is that the core brand operations like product development have never stopped and the core team is still in place in New York to help design and manufacture some of the best tennis products in the world.

Yes, agree they're great! Too bad TW doesn't have the license to sell Prince apparel too.
