Precious gem, from a precious human being, a rare soul. Joan Baez keeps her journey, now on her eighties, with the same enormous talent ( she now is painting wonderfully ), brilliant inteligence, and unshakable commitment to mankind. she is the personification of Organized Love, a bodhysattva. God bless and keep you, forever, Joan Baez. Amor e gratidão , from Brasil.
By the time of this concert I had probably seen her in concert 2 or 3 times. There are 2 songs on here that I very never heard before. The early Joan remains a favorite for me.
I have spent the last 12 hours in awe! Thank you for these treasures! I saw Joan for the first time in Montpelier, VT in 1983-84(?). The concert was in the Town Hall Theatre and her dressing room was a jail cell. She wrote about that particular gig in 'And A Voice To Sing with'. I saw that concert and never stopped being a totally avid fan of her voice, music and politics. This is making quarantine more than bearable! JOY! THANK YOU!
Dear Valeria, what a beautiful and precious work you are doing, making public and acessible the treasure that Joan Baez have been offering to the world for the last 60 years, with unshakable generosity and love. We will be forever grateful to her and to you as well. Amor e gratidão, from Brasil.
Thank you for these uploads. Being 21 now I'll likely never have a chnace to see Joan sing in person so I love being able to hear how she sounded throughout the years in concert.
I was blessed enough to have her come to my european city for her farewell tour last year. She had such wonderful stage presence and must have played 20+ songs and 4 encores. She still had it!
@@torvicbaer1446 Sounds amazing. I'm glad for anyone and you who got to see her even performing over the last decade. It's always seemed as she got older she knew her limits vocally on certain days and played to her strengths. I'm hoping there's an oddball chance I'll get to meet her someday.
Thanks so much for posting those concerts. I asked where I could find the one in 1977 where she is singing her album Blowing away, I have been told they were not edited as live recordings, so I will never find them, so thank you as this one too which is a very interesting one where she's sharing about her journey in jail etc... and this 8 days before living the worst bombin in the entire Vietnam war. She manages to reconcile me with Humanity, thanks so much
At this link you can listen to a concert where she sings the songs from the album Blowing Away. Se starts the concert saying that. th-cam.com/video/DQPVglAARM4/w-d-xo.html
What I have trouble understanding is how many of these beautiful women can take the greatest show on earth, Holy Matrimony and turn it into a side show freak act.
Gosh, imagine being a student in that audience. Awesome! If you are interested in music with a similar vibe, check out my EP Heart Walk on TH-cam. Thanks.

How did she call Bob Dylan??? Have I understood well? ( I am French)? Did she call him son of a b....????
Yes! she says that...I think half seriously and half joking :-)

@@ValeriaCaucino I remember her calling someone Son of a Dog, which sounded very very good and strong coming from her with this point of feminism which I love, but Son of a b.... that is surprising. I guess she was very angry with him at a time of their relationship, and this was before the songs Diamonds and Rust and Oh Brother I guess. Anyway, thank you very much for posting all these concerts I couldn't attend to as I was too young. Thanks a lot.
Man and woman were specifically created for each other by God. How can anything for Mankind get any better than that. If we could really cause people to understand maybe we could save some people from such disaster?
Yetta, I was at this concert , roughly 49 years ago, three rows back, center stage. I know that I upset Joan by taking the last photo, with flash, after she asked the photographers to stop. Anyway cellular devices (phones/cameras) weren't imagined for twenty years. Diamonds and Rust defines my life's last 50 year!
@@ValeriaCaucino Ciao Valeria.
That voice, I never tire of it!
When I hear her voice I hear the sound of hope. Helps keep me going in times of such disparity, greed and selfishness!
Perfect in every sense of the word.. Silver dagger and Billy Rose are excellent songs that always go down well,

Mahalo for this!
WUNDERSCHÖN!!! WUNDERSCHÖN!
One of our true legends. Said what she meant and meant what she said
Just a few days before Joan left for Vietnam.
Yes, that's true! She landed in Hanoi the 18th of december.
Awww man. That was a life defining time for her
Love
A few days later she flew to Hanoi. Christmas under the bombs

@ Kristoffer Kristofferson was the son of a dog. I asked after a concert in Charlotte, NC.
Man and woman were specifically created for each other by God. How can anything for Mankind get any better than that. If we could really cause people to understand maybe we could save some people from such disaster?
If people could understand just how important what they are throwing away is maybe they would be more careful with something so precious!
She was a pearl of a great price.
Somehow the quality of this recording reflects a more modern taste, maybe too hi fidelity, but good balance of voice and guitar.

Did they have picture phones in 1972? I'm confused

Here, the balance between voice and guitar is better, but as she says, the sound is too loud.
