      I soured on them over the years. I really like the current Project Runway with Christian and without Karly. The show has a more diverse set of contestants and minorities are treated better. Christian is kinder and more compassionate. So are the current judges.

      Tim and Heidi made a good team. Maybe the network should have listened to them. A little change can be good; it keeps things fresh and interesting.

    While I miss Hiedi and Tim on Project Runway, I do still watch it and love Christian Siriano. I am not a fan of Kloss though. I am a super fan of Making the Cut! love the show, love the global aspect of it. And I am happy that Heidi and Tim got to do what they wanted in spite of Project Runway. I can't wait for season 3.

      I love Christian Siriano too and was so glad to see him replace Tim Gunn, whom I never liked, partly because his catch phrases were so trite and extremely boring and irritating to listen to. I often muted the TV when I thought he was going to utter one of them again. Also Siriano gives very helpful advice - Tim Gunn's advice was often very bad and usually not helpful. I'm also not a fan of Kloss, but I still like her better than Tim Gunn. What I miss most is Michael Kors as a guest judge.
      I do not like the new PR as much, but for other reasons, although I do think that replacing Heidi Klum with Kloss (can't remember her first name) was a bad idea.

      @@larsedik Karli! However, I do like how respectful yet clear she was with critiques. But it does feel like an entirely new show

    • @larsedik
      @larsedik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@dariajordxn I don't dislike Karli, but she doesn't do a lot for me, and she's not as funny at Heidi, who may not have even been trying to be funny, but I thought she was more entertaining and more or less inoffensive. I liked that Heidi had her own ideas and stuck to them. I also very much liked Nina Garcia, but I think she is still on the new version. She was my second favorite judge after Michael Kors. I didn't like Isaac Mizrahi (boring), and I really got tired of him being introduced as "iconic" but I guess that was the only word they could come up with to make him seem special, and to me it made him seem common, since that word is used to describe almost everything.

    Not the same without them. Some of the guest judges need help with their own choice of wardrobe. Heidi had a way of helping a designer with improvements or suggestions and always supportive. A couple of judges are very judgmental and harsh. This past season had so many great designers and Christian has a unique way of critiquing. New judges please!

    I’ve been binge watching PR and find it disturbing how the judges would comment on outfits making a model look fat and then went overboard gushing over having obese models and a grossly obese season-winning “designer.” I think Siriano was the only PR winner to be remotely successful.

    • @thecosmicchild8947
      @thecosmicchild8947 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s how I felt when Michael Kors said to one of the designers “No one wants to have a big butt” when there are plenty of people that have a big butt naturally and embraces it.

  • @danny___928
    @danny___928 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I really wish Heidi and Tim were still on PR. Tim always had sage advice as a mentor & teacher. I think he was very blunt and straightforward and most importantly you could trust his judgement. He wasn’t afraid of calling out designers who didn’t deserve a win like Gretchen. He called out Anna Wintour and the industry on not being plus sized friendly and criticized the judges for making s16’s Ashley a winner just cause she was big & not cause her designs were good.
    Edit: Christian should’ve replaced Posen immediately. Would’ve been much more balanced in terms of judgement and i think a previous winner would give the added understanding and benefit as being a judge.

    Saw the first season of MTC and although it added a much-needed commercial aspect to the Runway format, it fell flat for me. Tim and Heidi's segments were so contrived! The critiques were so cringe-worthy, it just wasn't enjoyable to watch. Without Klum and Gunn, I think Runway lost a chunk of its gravitas. The contestants NEVER disrespected Heidi or Tim the way they do Christian! They borderline dismiss his critiques. For me, Runway is just a lot more fun. I like the prize of a CFDA mentorship, and honestly I'm ok if the winner doesn't become a global brand. There's enough marginal, vanilla clothing out there already.

    • @michele-kt

      Totally agree! MTC is an OK show but certain aspects that make PR so addictive are missing. I love Tim Gunn. I do wish both Heidi and Tim had stayed on. I've watched a few episodes of MTC but it's missing the hook that makes PR addictive. The winners are chosen by what will sell on Amazon not by who is the best designer.

  • @michele-kt

    MTC is not about the best designer. It is only about what will and will not sell on Amazon. They also have taken the suspense of who is going home out of the format that PR still has. People have come to love watching the designers rush around Mood then rush to get the sewing done. PR is just more fun and exciting and that's one more aspect that keeps fans glued to it after all these years. I LOVE Tim Gunn. He was a wonderful mentor. I wish both Heidi and Tim had stayed with PR.

    I'm not interested in the ideas that Gunn and Klum wanted to implement. The business end of it is not why I want to watch the show. I always wanted to see more of the WORK the designers put into their designs, and the fabrics, etc. I could not stand the petty dramas that seemed to be manufactured. I guess I am one of the few that was more interested in the designs than the designers.

    While I was shocked with their exits I must say that I love Christian on PR and I particularly enjoyed this latest season's format, without Kloss. I cannot say the same about MTC 2nd season, it had something missing... It was shorter and very... Business oriented? Also, we must remember that PR had one bad issue of judges just being MEAN. I'm rewatching some older seasons, now on season 8 and OMG they were unnecessarily harsh and mean, even Tim Gunn complained about this before. So yeah i get their decision but as it stands right now, PR is winning, to me.

    MTC is a disaster! First off, the clothes are in limited supply on Amazon, often selling within minutes. Then, the judging is very catty and clicky. Finally, there are silly premises that don't work, like Heidi and Tim sword fighting....oh please! At times, it feels like they're making it up as it goes. PR's format has gotten better, especially since getting rid of Kloss, although they definitely need a host. That whole judge as host thing sucks. Oh and can they get rid of Elaine too....annoying!

    OMG the narrator of this video actually knows how to pronounce the name “Marie” Shocker. I wonder if she also knows the difference between a jumper and a jumpsuit or that miniskirts were a fashion of the sixties and not the seventies. Those were just a few of the teeth-gritting mistakes that finally caused me to stop watching Heidi and Tim’s version of Project Runway. In their defence I will add that even the editors of Marie Claire gave the first name as Mary. The only person I heard before quitting who could pronounce the name was a contestant/designer.
